not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?
in my eyebrows, the bridge of my nose, both my cheeks, and along my jawline on each side. it usually goes away for a while, but it always comes back. i took some pictures today if anyone would like to see them. it looks so horrible this morning that i had to stay home from work. it also goes into my gotee and moustache, turning them both red and burning, and also cause flaking. it also makes the outer skin around my nostrils really itchy!

I have been treated with 5-6 different topical creams, foams, in conjunction with prednisone, zantac, and another med. The itchiness goes away but comes back at least once a month and does not go away for at least a week. My face gets red, blotchy, itchy, hot, it becomes dry at times, and the bumps below my ears.
I've been to my dermatologists many times, he has tried many things but it does not provide a permanent relief.

I have had a rash on my face for about 8-9 months, I have had it basically since my baby was born, It is right at my jawline and is circular in shape, the first day i had it it was lil flesh colored bumps, I itched it and it pussed, Since then it has been red and scale, it itches only a few times a day but i can't help but itch it, it seems to want to go away, but never fully heals, i have no health insurane so a doctor isn't an option. Over the past 5years, i have been suffering with itches on the right side of face. It feels like crawly worms. I've been to a dermatologist and tried all kinds of creams but the itching continues. Sometimes it is unbearble. It is often triggered in any condition, during the day or night. As a result pimple like bumps appear and my face looks less than attractive as it used to be.

Hi, my dermatologist has prescribed me a antihistamine for my itching and wants me to use it for 4-6 weeks. The med is called hydroxzine. I am concerned because i never heard of anyone using antihistamine for that long. Will this severly affect my liver? Please help!
Currently I have these tiny itchy bumps all over my face, front side of neck, chest and ears that look like goosebumps. They showed up overnight on my face and neck and have now spread to my chest and ears. My face has also swelled up (my eyes are puffy and I now have a double chin which I didn't have before).
Since then I have avoided taking any antihistmaines except for Benadryl. I did take an occasional Claritin but it seems like every time I did anything I break out more. My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl.

I keep getting really bad swollen lips and face, sometimes it can be just one side of my face, it does be painful when swollen, and i also cannot feel down that side of my face, before the bad swelling i would get like a tingle sensation but most of the time it is at its worst when i just wake in the morning and the swelling can last for two days at times.

From the symptoms it sounds like contact dermatitis or an allergic reaction. The mainstay of treatment is antihistamine which may be necessary for prolonged periods (in excess of 6 weeks).You can take non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine(Zyrtec) or Loratadine(Claritin) may be needed to get symptom relief. Sedating antihistamines such as Chlorphenamine(Benadryl) can be used at night to get urticaria control.
DSM-IV does not classify medications. Coricidin is an antihistamine, not a mental health medication.
thanks for the reply, yes i googled that before messaging and the only one it shows is Seldane, because of the problem with this antihistamine and that it had been taking off the market (not a newer antihistamine), i wanted to know of any other antihistamines?
