s a special herb that is having an effect on serotonin and dopamine neurotransmitter and also have a stimulant adaptogen similar to nicotine and is way safer than Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin can lower the seizure threshold and can have nasty side effects. Wellbutrin action is with the norepinephrine ( adrenaline ) and dopamine neurotransmitter. This is why it is often used as a combo med with other SSRIs.
I am 14.2wks and found out today that I am having a girl. I went to my doctor originally today to tell him that I am having horrible depression. I've struggled with depression since I was a kid. Now I'm 23. I was prescribed Wellbutrin and to see a counselor. Is there anyone else pregnant and in a similar circumstance?
I was a complete nervous wreck when I was first diagnosed with Hep C. However, I just stayed on the Wellbutrin and, as I learned more about Hep C and its treatment and prognosis, I gradually became less anxious. By the time I started Hep C treatment I was still somewhat anxious about side effects and treatment, but I was not depressed.
I am not saying this is what will happen with you.
I am on Wellbutrin XL, Ablify and Zoloft. I am still not doing better. Do you think they would put me on another Antidepressant also?
In summary - Super high sex drive and Viagra got me rock hard and kept me rock hard. Bye bye ED. Wellbutrin seems to completely negate the Viagra and low sex drive.

I was on Remeron and it made me very hyper and I couldn't sleep on it. My dr. then switched me to Wellbutrin. Within a week I quit smoking, sex drive returned and I actually started losing weight. Because of side effects I had to stop the Wellbutrin and I started Celexa that I had taken before. The good news is I'm still not smoking. Go talk to your dr. about switching antidepressants....you should be able to go from one to the other depending on what he prescribes you. Good luck!
I wastaking wellbutrin and then went off of it. After a couple of months started back on it and have continually gained weight regardeless of diet or exercise. Has anyone else experienced this?
I chose the topic of anxiety because you offered no topic for: depression, anti-depressants or weight management.
While your at it you could try magnesium oxide supplementation, it could make you feel more relaxed and will help avoid constipation which is another cause of slowed metabolism and an adverse effect of many antidepressants and medications in general.
Caution is advised combining Wellbutrin and Phentermine as this combo may increase your risk of seizures. If weight gain is a side effect of your psych meds, talk to your prescribing doctor about your concerns.

Wellbutrin is an atypical AD and with them it's very personal, it really depends from one person to another. Give it the time to kick in tho, it takes a minimum of 2 weeks.

m glad to read your posts about symptoms because it lets me know that I am not the only one. I was recently started on Wellbutrin and a beta blocker along with salt tablets and Midodrine. The night sweats have been terrible, and I did not even think that it might be the medicine.Now I know to ask my doctor about that! (I am 39 and thought it was just part of life.
I would say yes, because wellbutrin is an antidepressant and klonopin is a benzo and they don't have any neg effect together usually and are often perscribed together, to be sure I would call an all night pharmacist or your local pharmacist, they can give you more professional advice, I do it all the time. JUst ask them if you can tak ethe two together and they can tell you if you need to look for or worry with side effects, but I would think it is fine.
I'm currently taking 20mg of Lexapro and 150mg of Wellbutrin. I've taken Lexapro for about 2 years now, starting at 5mg, then 10mg, now 20mg and added Wellbutrin a few months ago. I'm seeing a psychiatrist and a talk therapist but wanted to check in with the online community.
This warning is a dead giveaway that the drug is affecting similar things that antidepressants and anti anxiety drugs and anti psychotics are playing around with. In effect, Chantix, and nicotine, are antidepressants, but generally with milder action than drugs called antidepressants.
Antidepressants don't have the same effects on everyone, and different antidepressants have different effects on the same person. They are very individual in how they affect you. Adderall is speed, and while speed has long been used for depression, as they say, speed kills. You get used to it and have to keep taking more, and it's hard to stop taking it. It also makes people anxious, and a lot of depressed people are also anxious.
m a little surprised your Dr recommended Wellbutrin since you have ADD. This is one of the more stimulating antidepressants. Wellbutrin and Lexapro are both antidepressants but are in also different. Of course I'm not a Dr and I'm sure your Dr has a reason for switching your meds. Can you call and ask him if you can wait until after the holidays to make the switch?
Your doctor is right. Wellbutrin at 450 mg already has 4 times the risk for seizures as other antidepressants, and the risk goes up by another 10 times if you increase to 600 mg (see http://www.rxlist.com/wellbutrin-drug/warnings-precautions.htm).
One option might be to try topamax. It's used off label as a mood stabilizer, it's an anticonvulsant (lowers seizure risk), and tends to cause weight loss. It doesn't work mood wise for everyone though, and not everyone loses weight.
If you mean snri, such as Effexor and Cymbalta, these are very stimulating antidepressants (as is wellbutrin) and can cause anxiety because of that. Lexapro and Celexa are very similar medications -- Lexapro is basically Celexa with some of it removed -- and these are ssris. Sometimes you can get rid of the sexual side effects by adding a small dose of wellbutrin to them. The question is, if you were on meds that worked, why were you switched? Did they stop working?
Maybe it will even make you feel more active and involved with everything. There are lots of antidepressants out now, Wellbutrin is kind of old but still a good one, but maybe for you something different. You definitely have symptoms of depression, with good cause. Good luck and God bless.
Hi I am 20 years old and have been taking prozac for a month and can not have sex and my girl thinks its her fault and it gets me mad cause I was to but its just impossible pretty much. My doctor gave me Wellbutrin 100mg SR tabs and said it should counter act the sexual side effects anyone know how long this should take to come into effect?
