9624973 tn?1413016130 I had a similar situation a couple of months ago when I needed to take Amoxicillin to avoid some infections after dental surgery (required because I have a neck surgery that could also see infection after dental surgery). I literally gained 20lbs in 2 weeks after I took it. The good news is, my AST & ALT did not flare up so I was ok.... but I'm almost certain the antibiotics caused some fatty liver and caused me to gain weight when I was on the track losing it.
1932338 tn?1349220398 My surgeon did not inject antibiotics into the anterior chamber when I had my cataract surgery after a few vitrectomies. Dr. O. Dr. O.
Avatar m tn My understanding is that is there no conflict between restasis and the whatever common drops (I am not sure there will be antibiotics) after the cataract surgery. I can continue the restasis to cure my dry eye after the cataract surgery as usual. Isn't it ?
Avatar m tn This may describe why Sb is so successful when used with other antibiotics. I presume when used on triple therapy with other antibiotics it would be even better. Regardless, I don’t suggest anyone to try all sorts of antibiotics now with Sb because it doesn’t heal PATM permanently and will only cause resistance to those antibiotics. However, if anyone has used some of them before I would like to know what you’ve observed.
Avatar m tn in the sense that areas that involve passage of feces (Like colon/intestinal surgery) would require antibiotics. Some doctors give some antibiotics as prophylaxis when there are heart valve issues - but as I said, prostate surgery shouldn't be too risky where this heart valve infection is concerned.
Avatar m tn Dr HHH or any other helper, I'll try and make this short and to the point. Online I've read some conflicting information regarding fingering. I'd like to ask myself. 3 nights ago in Brazil I engaged in heterosexual sex with 2 female sex workers. I'm a male. Condoms were used at all time for each act of penile-vaginal penetration.
Avatar m tn As case in point, use of expired antibiotics may result in you developing an anti-biotic resistant infection due to the degradation of effectiveness.
666921 tn?1254990618 It could be the sensory overload issue that people with these kind of issues get. At my worst there was something about the fluorescent lights in the grocery store that would affect me. As soon as I walked in my legs would feel weak. The car issue could be motion sickness. People with lyme are more prone to it. It's on the symptom list.
Avatar f tn Hi I looked this up, it used to be called Macrobid. It is just for bladder infections so that is good. If your doctor knows about your liver, I think this would be safe. I am not a doctor but I also have compensated cirrhosis and always worry about antibiotics. I learned that penicillin or penicillin family is the safest. In your case, it sounds like it is worth it to use it. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Hello Butch_b Antibiotics are used if an infection is suspected. It is unusual to be infection for so long. Which all antibiotics you have been? Was there any discontinuation in the therapy? Epididymitis is a medical condition in which there is inflammation of the epididymis. Unusually infecion might not be the cause like in the conditions such as Reflux of sterile urine (urine without bacteria) through the ejaculatory ducts may cause inflammation with obstruction.
10604364 tn?1411645754 plus we also tend to have issues with meds, and drugs used during surgery and we develop odd allergies to meds as well...even ones we took with no prior issues...so with Chiari decompression surgery we have the dura opened and a patch placed, if you have EDS you may reject the patch causing it to fail and leak...which will cause many post op set backs including possible infection.....if known of b4 precautions can be taken to help avoid....or cut back on the chances of these issues happening.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone has had any heart rhythm problems attributed to antibiotics. I have pvcs/pacs, all tests, ekg, echo has come back completely normal. Avatar n tn If one was infected with syphilis and had an orthepedic surgery two months later, would the antibiotics given through iv before surgery and the antibiotics taken after surgery in pill form kill the bacteria? Or would it not cure the bacteria and end up concealing the secondary rash?

Avatar n tn DCR surgery 4 weeks ago, still have swelling under eye, lower eye lid drooping, and involuntary eye twitch. Have used warm compresses several times daily and finished a course of antibiotics, steroid ointment and drops. Has anyone had a similar experience and what were the results.
Avatar m tn I have a cyst on my left testicle & was removed by a surgery about 10 weeks ago, since the surgery my left side is very swollen & firm until now, i did 2 Ultrasound & my doctor said it looks fine & gave me one course of Antibiotics with no improvement. I think it's either Acute or Chronic epididymitis since he said the Ultrasound shows the testicle fine without issue. i have no pain or fever or any signs of infection, just big & firm left side. What can the treatment be?
Avatar m tn What other non-surgery methods can be used to reduce this inflammation? What other antibiotics can be taken?
Avatar n tn Hi Jeff, I had a simmilar problem prior to 2000. I used to come down with either epididymitis or orchitis every 3 to 4 months requiring hospitalizations being on antibiotics through an IV. The infections would either be in one, but sometimes in both testicles. I had been diagnosed with a neurogenic bladder in 1996. I had read an article that males who used to undergo a prostatectomy, also received a vasectomy to prevent infections from spreading to the testicles.
Avatar n tn t know if it will be possible, but laser surgery is often used instead of regular (scalpel) surgery when there is risk of excessive bleeding, or when the surgery is in an awkward position, such as this, when bleeding could be a problem.
Avatar f tn No, actually, this is a very common side effect of taking antibiotics. People also are very commonly allergic to certain antibiotics. Antibiotics also kill off the beneficial organisms in our intestinal tract that are a very large part of our mental health system. It's probably the antibiotics.
1711570 tn?1309811718 i was diagnosed with urine infection a few days after surgery to remove a large ovarian cyst. the only sympton i had was severe stomach cramps which i thought was associated to the the surgery but after a urine test at the a&e, they found that it was a urnine infection. i was given antibiotics, which didn't take into effect until the 3rd/4rth day. i've now finished the prescribed course, however, i've found that my urine is still very yellow despite me drinking more than 1.
