I took one benedryl last night and then today I woke up with a sore throat. I am pretty sure it is from drainage because one of my ears hurts too! Anyone know anything I can take over the counter for it? Any help would be great! Don't want to get on antibotics again because just got off some a couple of weeks ago and then got a yeast infection!! I have been sick off and on with this pregnancy and really don't know why!
Wow, I really think It's indigestion. Because I belch all the time and big belching. I used to eat before bed but I don't anymore. Thing is, today I got the results from my head X-rays and i have Chronic sinus so I think it's a combination of both these things. Thank you so much for your response.
i am on week 13 of tx and I am going on my 6th week of having a sore throat and can not get rid of it. I took antibiotics for 7 days and didnt help at all. My Lymph Nodes located behind the ears and my throat are so enlarged that they are very sore. My nose is congested and is constantly bleeding. Is anyone having this problem? and is their any releif? You should see your doctor, if it's strep throat or anything like that you'll need antibiotics. It's important to take care of any infections during pregnancy, so if it gets worse I'd go in.
call the dentist and let him/her know you have a sore throat. the antibiotics will not make it worse, may even make it better. I just had my abscessed wisdom tooth pulled 2 weeks ago and was in the middle of taking the antibiotics, hadnt finished them yet. he may give you another rx for them or you may have to see your general practitioner. But definitely call them and give them a heads up!
Thanks but its weird I haven't gotten a sore throat or anything throat related since i got my tonsils removed my senior year of high school I was 17 I use to get strep 7 or more times a year it would be so bad I would have white patches and swelling to the point I couldn't breath
That happened to me in November it turned out to be a allergy infection its crazy cause it happened every night sore throat and then it just got worse.I ended up going to the hospital and got antibiotics...
I m having ear pain and sore throat and also have sore mouth, my tounge, upper area of mouth and also hav pain behind the ears...been like this for a week now. I m worried as I had a pap smear wich came back with hpv and ascus and I also hav large fibroids wich I m getting treatment for. My great worry now is that is this sore throat related to hpv as hpv can also cause head and neck cancer. I will be glad if someone can help me on it.
I have had a sore throat now for about a week. The sore throat comes on about 8:00 p.m. It is very sore and makes it hard to swallow. It keeps me up most of the night. I finally get out of bed around 5 ish, drink a cup of hot coffee and within about an hour my sore throat is gone until around 8:00 at night again. Also in the morning then I am very hot and sweaty. she said there was no way she had a sore throat so shortly after the antibiotics she had given her but i told her it was not a long time at all... she has some infection in her ear and throat still so she put her on Clarithromycin for 10 days... her throat seems to burn now when it hurts and her ear aches, she has been taking it for 3 days...

I have had a persistent sore throat for the past two months and was prescribed an antibiotic a few weeks ago. The antibiotic corrected the sore throat and nasal pressure, so I assumed it is a sinus infection. My test results for strains of step came in negative and the doctor recommended I cease taking my antibiotic (5 days in out of 10) so I did. It has now come back and I expect it to stay if untreated (as the past two months have shown).
I have been experiencing neck pain below my thyroid on the left side for 2 moths, suddenly the sore neck went into one side of my throat and ear Left side. It gets worse after 5-6 pm and I have to take serious pain meds to get it to calm down. I feel like I have the flu or something But I have no fever and no other symptoms. Covid tests all negative. I had unprotected oral sex with a guy about two weeks ago. A week after, I started feeling a mild discomfort far in the back of my throat. I started freaking out. Upon inspection, I realized my tonsil was covered in red/brown puss. When I urinate/ejaculate, I feel this tingling sensation. My went to my doc's last week, and they took a blood and urine sample (they didn't have any oral swabs and needed to order if I wanted to get a sample taken).
I woke up early this morning with a really sore throat, I didn't think anything of it since I've been sleeping with the windows open these past few days but I ended up looking in the mirror and I noticed 2 white bumps back there. I also feel really tired and my body feels sore. Is this strep possibly? Are there pregnancy safe home remedies I can try to cure it on my own?
Did they give you antibiotics? You could have an infection in your lymph node.
It appears in the alternate days, one day after the other. I had a sore throat for the first time in the recent times on 13th of last month and it was there for 4-5 days and it cured without any treatment. Now it again started appearing from 26th of last month. It is not continuous appears usually during the afternoon hours. But today i had it right from 11 in the morning. I've not consulted a doctor yet. Is there any thing serious in my concern?

I'm 6 weeks pregnant. At 4 weeks I got strep and had to be on amoxicillin and tylenol. My sore throat got a little better but has came back with a vengeance. I really don't want to go to the doc and be put on more antibiotics since I'm still in the 1st trimester. Any safe home remedys to cure a sore throat?
Your persistent symptoms of sore throat, ear pain and lymph node swelling could be due to a throat infection, most probably streptococcal or a viral infection. Strep sore throat needs to be treated with an antibiotic as strep is a bacteria. Viral sore throat is best treated with rest, warm oral fluids and (OTC) Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain.
I had unprotected sex with a woman and after 2 days I had a sore throat which lasted for 6 days (no medications taken) and then again I got it exactly 2 weeks after the day I had unprotected sex and this time it was bad but no fever and any other symptom. I went to the doctor and he gave me antbiotic and it went away in 4 days..

I started with a scratchy throat then it became more sore, I also coughed due to the soreness in my throat. After 4-5 days I was a little congested and sneezed along with my very sore throat. I did not have white spots in my throat, I've never had fever and body aches. I just had a very sore throat that made it hard to swallow and congestion, I only coughed due to the soreness in my throat. The doctor prescribed antibiotics for me. Do you think I needed them..
