I think that's your personal judgment call, most women are willing to take a catagory A or B. I did not take a z-pack, but I took azithromycin & it is also category B. Do the benefits outweigh the risks?

I picked up a food borne illness while in MX in September & my doctor put menon an antibiotic.. it was azithromycin & it was a pregnancy category B (no evidence of risk).I don't know if it treats typhoid though & what I had was not typhoid. I was so relived as the other person who responded is correct.. typhoid is very very dangerous to the baby. Definitely treat immediately.

I was prescribed Amoxicillin for one of my wisdom teeth I had extrated yesterday which is Category B medication. I'm not taking the Category C which is Tylenol with Codeine which doesn't do harm but is advise just to stay away from. There are antibiotics that are still in the safer category A and some B that you can take. I had a uti just recently tried to let it get better on its own and it got worse and ended up having to take take 2 courses of antibiotics.
