angiogram

Avatar m tn Now Doctor has prescribed for Angiogram. He said he can suggest for treatment only after seeing the angiogram reports. Please help with your suggestion that whether we should go for angiogram. He is a diabetic patient since last 15 years and having high Blood pressure complaint since last 5 years.
Avatar f tn You will have to wait for the results of the angiogram. Blockages can be treated with bypass surgery, but in many cases with minimal invasive angioplasty (stenting) or with medication. Dependent on the outcome of the angiogram and taking into account your grandmother's physical condition and the fact that she has has bypass surgery before, the cardiologist will advise what the best option is.
Avatar n tn an angiogram is the images taken using a catheter, injecting radio isotopes into the blood vessels to show up on an imaging system. As I've said before, all procedures carry some element of risk but some are obviously much lower than others. Angiograms are about the lowest you can get, but by law you have to be warned you could end up with a stroke or other organ damage if some plaque is knocked out of place.
18997880 tn?1470851656 they did angio at evening and next day morning too and they said to undergo emergency surgery..it was successful surgery and her aorta was shrinked and 85% blood supply passes though that, and she was in 15% blood supply...before surgery she had seviour pain at heart spot, her right arms and legs had seviour pain, she.she walk for 5 min then with pain and heavy sweating she cant keep one step ahead. she had some memory issues after surgery and sudden eyesight blurriness...
Avatar n tn He ran a series of test and told her to return for an Angiogram on the eye with the Fovea. Why is an Angiogram necessary for this type of problem and if the Fovea is still there, is there a cure for it? What can they do for her Fovea? This discussion is related to Cataract Complication: Fovea leakage .
Avatar m tn Hi, If this is really cancer, the better experience is with surgery. This is because those who are not candidates for surgery are advised radiation. Hence, it would not be possible to say if these two approaches are equivalent. However, if this would not be cancer, then of course, the risks of the wedge resection may not be worth it.
Avatar n tn I have a history of high cholesterol and am currently on a cholesterol reducing medication as well as a medication to reduce blood pressure. I was offered several options as the next step and opted for a CT angiogram. Given my other results, should I have gone directly to the more conventional angiogram in spite of the slightly greater risk? If there is a good chance that I will need an angiogram anyway, am I not putting myself at risk by going through another step?
Avatar m tn 1) yes, however, if a epiretinal membrane, Avastin or steroids can help. 2) Yes. 3) Depends on how successful the surgery is in removing the scar tissue. Dr. O.
Avatar f tn I have just been scheduled for an angiogram and I'm scared to no end I have a 3 year old son I love to death same as my soon to be wife. I'm so scared something will go wrong during the surgery how coming are complications? Also my ej is 73 is this bad?
1145423 tn?1261404857 They then plan to do the angiogram 4 days later tentivly. its after the angiogram we talk surgery right. and one more thing. I have been experiencing painbehind and on my eyes and sometimes my vision just dims...like sombody is dimming the lights. is this normal.
Avatar f tn Is it really necessary for me to have an angiogram after finding out I have small aneurism in my head? The aneurism is 3 mm, I am a healthy 37 year old female. Should I get a second opinion? It really seems unnecessary for me to have a cath and camera into my brain for an aneurism they say is small and not to worry about it???
Avatar n tn My husband has a bicuspid aortic valve with stenosis. He will have an angiogram Friday. Is there a measurement of the valve which tells us that surgery is absolutely necessary and life threatening not to go ahead or does it depend on symptoms. We are paying privately and so far the doctor has said better to get on with having surgery as it will be needed at some point but we would like to know how long we can wait.
Avatar f tn Hi, I had a double bypass in May 2011, three months ago and in the past two weeks i am getting very intense chest pain like i had before the surgery. I am having an angiogram in 5 days time and i am worried as they cannot put stents in because i am on Warfarin (Comadum} and they cannot give me another blood thinner for the platlets as they do when they put in stents. I have just turned 60. Thanks a mill!
Avatar n tn A nuclear stress test is about 85% accurate in finding CAD whereas a angiogram is 100% accurate. The angiogram also carries a 1 - 3% risk of complications, the most common risk, although very rare, is having an artery dissected during the procedure which results in emergency bypass surgery. Having said that, if I was told I needed one I would do it without hesitation. It is the gold standard of heart tests to determine if CAD is present.
Avatar m tn The tests indicated a blockage. I am now waiting for an angiogram. They put me on drugs after the test. I am on 1.25mg Monocor, 5mg Norvasc, 10mg Crestor as well as ASA 81mg - one per day. Now I wait for Angiogram. I am quite freaked out. So I am scheduled for an angiogram on Feb 5th. They tell me there are risks in this test. The risk is 1 in 1000 people die, stroke or have a heart attack during this proceedure. My question is this, Should I get a 64-slice Coronary CT Angiography?
17646939 tn?1458700001 I was trying to get a surgery clearance for bariatric surgery , because I have uncontrolled diabetes, I also have high blood pressure that is well controlled with meds. My kidneys are leaking some protein.my Dr said I need an angiogram and possible stent.I was shocked and refused, because I had a bad reaction to the contrast dye. So I acquired the test results Apparently I also had angiography. Before the test I took the 50 mg of metotopol 2hr prior to my appt.
Avatar f tn I had a myocardial infarction 10 years ago and i had a an open heart surgery since then and now i am experiencing symptoms of stable angina and my angiogram is completely clear and the bypass is 100% success and all the tests are negative, can a thallium stress test be useful or it will not be conclusive because of the former heart attack
Avatar n tn An EKG is not very reliable to diagnose ischemia or a an MI and requires further testing i.e. stress test, ct angiogram or cath angiogram. If it is closed (implant vessel), in all probability it can be reopened with a stent. I'm not sure what keeping an eye on it means, but it does indicate it may not be serious, or not taken as anything very seriously. If it is closed (totally collapsed), that can be very serious?! Partially collapsed?! You may want your father to get a 2nd opinion.
Avatar m tn What can be ruled out with a ct angiogram? Can we see what the EF is ? Also can they find any abnormalities in the shap of the heart? And can they see any major valve regurgitatiOn? I'm concerned ? Because some people rather have a conventional angiogram and don't see a ct angiogram useful and I would like to know why??
Avatar m tn Had cataract surgery on my left eye 3 weeks ago, was suppose to have right done 2 weeks ago but postponed due to issues with right eye. Vision seems to be getting worse, black spots appearing randomly, color is off and distance vision is not there. Doctor put in standard lens for distance. Just got back from Dr. today( 2 weeks after surgery) and he now seems troubled with what hes seeing.
