Common Questions and Answers about Angiogram with co2

angiogram

Avatar m tn ve finally found a problem as a result of paying for a CT Coronary Angiogram. All I know right now is that I have a narrowing of the left main artery but I don't know the extent or the cause. I am now waiting to have a standard angiogram but I am supposed to be flying to the US from the UK in 3 weeks. Has anyone flown soon after an angiogram? How about after a stent? Appreciate your thoughts.
Avatar f tn My results came back with co2 levels @34. My doctor didnt seem to be concerned about the levels stated that most blood work comes back with the same levels.. My question is should I seek a second opinion.. Thanks for help..
Avatar m tn and it binds to the red blood cells. Because it has a stronger electrical affinity, it stays with the cell for a long time, diminishing the ability of blood to transport oxygen. It could remain bound for two or three days. This means if the red blood cells become saturated with CO, you can literally suffocate although there is plenty of air around. Not a nice way to go. A smoker also ingests carbon monoxide.
Avatar m tn Published results show an Angiogram with 7mSv if it is only diagnostic and a CT-A at 16.0mSv. Therefore, the X-Ray load is more than twice as high for the CT-A.

Avatar f tn Chronic respiratory failure is a slower process, the body has a chance to compensate for the imbalance of arterial gases (the kidneys are responsible for this). Some people with COPD (emphysema, chronic bronchitis etc) have high CO2 in their blood, but it seems to be their norm. If they have low O2 levels as well, then they are treated with oxygen. Prognosis is tough to guess at because people can live with low O2/high CO2 levels for some time if it is chronic.
148588 tn?1465778809 Decreasing CO2 concentrations after that were associated with substantial global cooling, glaciations, and dropping sea levels. Gavin Schmidt of NASA’s GISS has pointed me to research in a December 2011 article in the journal Paleoceanography by Gretta Bartoli, Bärbel Hönisch, and Richard E. Zeebe, reporting on paleoclimatic records that suggest CO2 concentrations (at least in the Northern Hemisphere) may have been around 400 ppm between 2 and 4.6 million years ago.
1569091 tn?1295808551 I get a little tired sometimes, but, overall I do ok with no thyroid. From what I am hearing on another site, low co2 could be due to my adrenals needing help. They suggest taking HC. I really do not want to get into taking anything to take over for my adrenals. It is only my morning cortisol that is low. The rest of the day seems to fall within ranges. I am taking a group of vitamins to supposedly help the adrenals.
Avatar f tn Blood tests keep coming back w/CO2 levels low --this time its at 16 range is 21-33. Doc had me go for chest X-ray and it came back clear...always have some trouble breathing---RBC good 11...take neupogen every week though.. Any thoughts???greatly appreciated..
Avatar n tn An angiogram can be performed with a cath (intervention with a probe through the leg vessel to the heart), or ct scan (best is a 128 slice) that views the blood flow (dye has been injected) through the coronary arteries. There isn't a high risk with a cath, and it is not painful, but have an understanding with the doctor whether or not your father wants a stent implant if there is some blockage, and whether the stent(s) are drug coated or not (obtain an opinon what the doctor prefers).
Avatar f tn I have just been scheduled for an angiogram and I'm scared to no end I have a 3 year old son I love to death same as my soon to be wife. I'm so scared something will go wrong during the surgery how coming are complications? Also my ej is 73 is this bad?
Avatar m tn If anything is found, all paths will send you back to the angiogram. Even if nothing is found during the angiogram, you will know with absolute certainty that there is nothing wrong. All cardiologists have told be they have had cases where the ct has missed something and this will haunt you for years, especially if you develop symptoms. Doctors will argue there is no blockage, you will believe there is one and a huge battle starts in your mind.
1398693 tn?1343684738 Back in February my a long time diagnosis of asthma became severe asthma and I was told at that time I had viral bronchitis since then I have a lot of problems breathing on a nearly daily basis with a day here and there with no symptoms at all, also there’s very little mucus I only cough anything up in the morning every now and then not very often and I don’t wheeze either.
Avatar m tn Has anyone had an angiogram with the catheter inserted in arm or neck instead of the groin? I don't think I could take the groin without serious nerve spasms.
Avatar m tn i KNOW IT SOUNDS LIKE ANGINA, BUT HAD A ANGIO A YEAR AGO AND WAS OK REGARDING BLOCKAGES VALVES ETC. AT THE TIME MY EF WAS BAD 15%, BUT WITH THE BP UNDER CONTROL IT CAME BACK TO 40%. FOR SOME MONTHS AFTER THIS MY EXERCISE WALKING TOLERANCE WAS OK. NOW I HAVE THE SYMPTOMS ABOVE AFTER WALKING HALF A KM . the cardio wants to do another angio? what is it? ANY IDEAS/ HELP?
Avatar f tn You better check with your doctors, I am not sure about the potential damage due to the radiation dose that you will take during the procedure. Also if they discover blockages in your coronaries, I do not know about the risk of the medication that you will need.
Avatar n tn He had difficulty in breathing, so he put on a mask for oxygen-inhalation, resulting in CO2 poisoning unluckily. Although he is not wearing a face mask now, CO2 poisoning is still getting worse and it is as high as 80 today (March 8). The doctor in charge advised to use invasive ventilator. As the patient is aged, we are in urgent search of treatment proposals with little pain! We will be greatly grateful if you can give us some suggestions!
Avatar n tn After a cardigraph treadmill test I'm being referred for angiogram - I'm going on holiday in two weeks with a 3 hour flight. Should I travel?
974371 tn?1424653129 t say we have the best doctors where I live. Anyway, I am afraid an angiogram will be ordered and I really do NOT want one of those done. No way could I get through that and understand they keep you awake? Wondering if there is an alternative and if anyone has had the angiogram done and what your experiences were.
Avatar n tn my mother is suffering from chest pain now Doctor is saying to go for angiogram test?
179856 tn?1333547362 OK question for cirrhotics or those who know - my carbon dioxide number on my latest blood work is 20. Normal is 21 - 33. OK I look it up......it says it's an indicator of cirrhosis. As a stage 3er, SVR for 4 years I'm kind of concerned about that. My bilirubin is still the same at .2 with normal being .2 - 1.2 Anybody have any input, I'm sure later today my doctor is going to have a lot of it and want to be prepared. Guess I should get rebiopsied? Am I typically over reacting?
