Avatar f tn They found a 4mm carotid aneurysm in my scan last week. I am to get a CT Angiogram Wed and then see the neurosurgeon in August. I am on coumadin due to a blood clot in my sagittal sinus (reason why they found the aneurysm) from 2009. Was just wondering if someone has been through this process before and what I need to expect.

Avatar f tn Hi. I was in a terrible car accident on Nov 9, 2007. I lost conciousnes for a few minutes. I had an imediate headache, felt like my spine was hit by a 2 x 4 and had facial brusing and swelling. A CT scan on 11/13 showed "air fluid level with in the spheniod sinus". I had an MRI on 1/21 that also showed the air fluid level stating also that the signal intesities are not typical and a tramatic etiology cannot be excluded.
Avatar f tn So after 5 months of headaches and sleeping on my right side as well as other symptoms i think i know at least what the problem is. The first mri scan showed mastoid changes on my right side, as well as possible sigmoid sinus thrombosis. After my mri angiogram it came that there's no or little blood flow in my right internal jugular vein. No other problem with the sinuses. But why do i have all my symptoms on the left side?
Avatar f tn my Dad is 67 years old and had memory loss ,slurred speech due to two little block in brain and blockage in internal carotid artery . 649926 tn?1297657780 I have had 2 relapses on copaxone and now my MRI of the brain is stable for 6 months but my symptoms are not so my Dr. is sending me for a cerebral angiogram and wants to re-evaluate the M.S diagnosis. Could all of these symptoms / tests be one disease and if not what are your thoughts like why the angiogram? Please help, I feel like I am back at ground zero. Thank you for your time and input.
Avatar m tn The max and min heart rates were 112 at 7.40am and 32 at 7.46am with an average heart rate of 75bp. Few tachy brady episodes with short sinus pauses(max- 2.4sec at 7.46am) noted. Complete heart blockage also noted (7.47am to 7.48am)- 1min. Few isolated ventricular ectopics noted. No significant ST-T changes observed. Patient had no symptom while holter monitoring. All the blood reports like CBC are normal with a little high on potassium and little less on sodium noted.
Avatar n tn While the ECG, cardiac enzyme tests (like troponin) and echo can simulate the picture of an acute heart attack, a coronary angiogram will not show a lesion/thrombus. Most of the time, this apical ballooning is reversible with time, and the cardiac function improves over a period of weeks to months. Arrhythmias are known to occur during this period.
776302 tn?1241091853 My friend was rushed to the emergency room following a rash of violent vomiting. Long story short she had an angiogram procedure done, she felt a pain in her chest and went into cardiac arrest. after 35 minutes she was brought back. The doctor said she had 2 blood clots and it magically disappeared and no surgery was needed. She is up and very well. She feels that the angiogram caused her heart to stop.
Avatar f tn If this can happen without a posture change, and if you have other sensations such as dizziness, weakness or disorientation during these brief spells, then possibly there is some interruption of the blood flow to the entire back of the brain. This would need to be assessed with an MRA or a CT angiogram.
678297 tn?1226546462 Hello everybody. I came back here to this website needing some help of Shortness of Breath. It has been about 2 wks since my symptoms started. It started out just like fatigue when I talked for a long time in conversation during my teachings but then its gotten worse. When I walk or talk a lot I feel like I am carrying cobblestones in my chest and its heavy and hard to breath. When I sit down or lye in a certain position i'm ok and no shortness of breath.
1334998 tn?1300674856 findings mri of the sella pit was performed in the sagittal , axial and coronal projectionsutilizing mutiple pulse imaging sequences. The Pituitary appears to be within the upper limitsof normal in size.A partially empty sella defority is demonstrated . No discrete pituitary mass is noted. The stalk is midline in locationand the optic chiasm is unremarkable. Impression: Findings consistent with partial empty sella deformity. No definitive evidence for a pituitary mass.
Avatar n tn A PROSPECTIVE STUDY OF CAVERNOUS SINUS SURGERY FOR MENINGIOMAS AND RESULTANT COMMON OPHTHALMIC COMPLICATIONS (AN AMERICAN OPHTHLAMOLOGICAL SOCIETY THESIS) http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=2258114 “Patients undergoing cavernous sinus surgery can usually expect new ophthalmic complications together with an exacerbation of preexisting neuro-ophthalmic deficits. Although improvement in function can be achieved, it is distinctly uncommon.
Avatar f tn ) A magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA) is a type of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan that uses a magnetic field and pulses of radio wave energy to provide pictures of blood vessels inside the body. The radiologist may talk to you about the results of your MRA right after the test. Complete results are usually available for your doctor in 1 to 2 days. Magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA) Normal: The blood vessels look normal and the blood flow through them is not reduced or stopped.
Avatar f tn Hi Selma thanks for your reply just been told that I could have had an MRI instead of all I have been through I have recently come out of hospital with being rushed In with severe thunderclap headache stiff neck and photophobia and nausea a blood test was done for meningitis all clear thank goodness. Avatar n tn he said that it was sinus tach with some ST segment changes in my inferior leads. after resting and drinking plenty of water for 30 minutes i get a resting EKG that only showed sinus tach at 125 with no ST segment changes. the cardiologist diagnosed me with stable angina and upped my atenolol dose and he order an angiogram procedure for me. i am very anxious and i can not handle that type of invasive procedure.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've been suffering for about 15 years with relapsing/remitting symptoms of nerve pain, bilateral hip and leg weakness and spasticity and hyperreflexia progressing to no reflexes, then eventually normal reflexes, worse on the left, that leaves me in and out of a wheelchair. They have never found any evidence on MRI for anything, other than about 12 years ago, they thought maybe I had TM b/c of something they thought they saw on T-spine MRI.
Avatar n tn I waited on my fiancé during his angiogram, 1 hour of waiting and 3 hours of supervising from the nurses then home we went
Avatar f tn I have been having a great deal of head pressure in the back, side and top of my head ever since a sinus infection 2 months ago. I had 2 full weeks of antibiotics, and my headaches left for a short time, but a sensation of fullness stayed in my left ear. This has caused me to feel off balance, and foggy headed, like I may pass out at times. I just had an MRI and CT of the sinuses that says I have mild mucosal thickening of the sphenoid sinuses and a mild septal deviation.
Avatar n tn I am not a doctor, only a mother of a 16 yr old with a pituitary that is 9 mm and globular in shape (a big perfect ball on her MRI). It is butting her optic chiasm. Her endocrinologist stated that it was normal for a teen to have a pituitary that large, but she has numerous symptoms that have not been explained through other tests so I am now trying to have the pituitary looked at again. What age were you when this MRI was done?
Avatar m tn Moderate pressure on left side of head (ear) when ringing subsides. MRI, MRA of head and neck are negative. Audiology report normal for age. C-reactive protein, RA negative. EEG perfomed & 24 hr urine for VMA & metanephrines awaiting results. CTA scheduled this week. Anxiety unmanageable with Xanax, can't sleep at nite since it gets worse at nite. Loss of weight: 15 lbs in 5 weeks. Trying Zoloft with xanx at nite to try and sleep.
Avatar f tn A friend tried to hang himself and now complains of sore throat, no saliva, burning tongue and pain on left hand side of throat.. xray were done on neck but i think he needs an MRI or ct.
Avatar m tn I agree, of course you would want an explanation of the results of an angiogram. Unfortunately, due to very busy schedules of cardiologists, this is not always possible. Surely there is an appointment with a cardiologist scheduled?
Avatar f tn As a totally unrelated issue, I did have a complete brain MRI in Sept of last year--they were diagnosing migraines, and wanted to rule out anything else. That was completely clear--otherwise I might be thinking neurological too.... its just so strange...and I hate it!
Avatar f tn For over 5 months I have experienced weight gain, headaches, sinus pressure, dry peeling sore swollen lips, and for over a month I have had dizziness added into those symptoms and also left ankle/foot edema. I had a CT of sinus and it was "ok", MRI of brain and "ok", Thyroid levels "ok", I did find out I am anemic (iron deficience) a month ago and am on iron supplements now for a over a month. Was treated for sinus infection, ear infection and still have symptoms.
