I also had an MRI/MRA and found a small aneurysm. When I went and saw a neurosurgeon they had me do an angiogram as well. Its considered the gold standard in finding aneurysms. I would suggest finding out your family history and see if anyone else has had them. If there is a familial connection the medical community can take different more aggressive tactics. I was rather surprised to find out a family member had had an annie.
I think I may have posted this in the wrong place before so I will re-post and welcome any input from people who have had the same frustration trying to determine what is wrong with them.
Two MRI's, one without and one with contrast. The one with showed nothing more than the one without. Neurologist calls and explains a tumor and MS have been ruled out, but she does not know what it is. She says there is something there by the brain stem, but she does not know what.
MRI revealed bleed from cavernous angioma in brain stem, left penducle, cerebellum. Angiogram showed bleeding stopped but had surgery to have it removed. There were signs it had bled before. I had never been very coordinated and had also suffered a number of serious knocks on the head including a concussion as a kid. All seemed well post surgery until I went back to work six months later.
The second MRI with contrast showed the same thing as the one without contrast. My neurologist says it's not MS or a brain tumor and she does not know what it is. Something is there and she said that where it's located it could definitely cause my memory loss. She's ordered a Spinal tap and a CT angiogram of my brain. I have been diagnosed with mycoplasma and am wondering as she is, if it has entered my brain, or possibly be an old infection.
He ordered me to have a Head MRI and MRA, mainly to have my fears of anuerysm or tumor ruled out. My question is what is an MRA?? I know what an MRI is but have no clue about an MRA? Has anyone had one done? whats it like? is their risks involved?? thanks so much for anyone's information.
A lumbar puncture is sometimes necessary, in which fluid from around the spine and brain is taken out and analyzed with various tests. Angiogram is done if a vessel abnormality is suspected. Other neurometabolic disorders may be investigated for depending again on the exact history, examination, and MRI findings.
Continued evaluation by a neurologist is recommended.

I doubt your symptoms are brain tumor related, but if they want to get a CT scan that is fine to rule out everything. They put me on a med that is supposed to lessen the number of visual disturbances and migraines too. I hope it works. My friend was just hospitalized with rt. sided brain tumor, she had previously ovarian cancer and I myself are a multiple myeloma patient (bone marrow cancer) We would like to know what is the prognosis for this type of tumor?, She will be going into surgery tomorrow, I read that if the tumor was cancerous they would not operate but if it was benign they could remove it. Is this true on this case?
does this sound like a brain tumor or something else with the brain well i am blurr vision and i have to sleep all day cause if i stay awake i feel like i am going to pass out and i have the blurr vision all day its so bad i cant stand it also feels like my body like come out and spins around its kind of wierd does anyone know what this is
My 48 year old sister was diagnosed with a low grade small brain tumor yesterday, 3 May 2010. Up until a couple of days before she had shown no signs of illness. Infact shes the healthiest person I know. She doesnt smoke goes to the gym regularly and eats very healthily. The only stressful thing in her life is her job, which she loves, shes a headteacher/principal of a large school.
