Avatar f tn Up until yest my partners symptoms were all atributed to a brain haemorrhage that he suffered June 07. I was always convinced his haemorrhage was cause by the car accident that he was in 3 months earlier (Mar 07). Yesterday his consultant told us that the only symptom he should be suffering from is double vision due to where the bleed occured and no longer needs to see him.
Avatar f tn Caps and bands of periventricular high signal intensity on T2 and FLAIR noted due to age related changes. No evidence of haemorrhage or micro haemorrhage. Normal appearances of the brain stem and cerebelum. The ventricles are slightly dilated likely related to degree of atrophy.
Avatar m tn Hi there and welcome to the medhelp forum. The outcome from intracerebral bleed depends on the size of the hematoma, the amount of brain swelling and how he survives the first 48 hours. Recovery also depends on the amount of blood that bleeds into the brain and the area where it occurs. Basal ganglia bleed is a deep bleed, and it is difficult to comment on the prognosis with this limited information. There may be complete recovery or some permanent loss of brain function. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn I received the results of an MRI of my brain today and have questions regarding it, I really hope that someone can help me understand whether I should get even more worried, what can it be and what should I do next. "MRI of the brain was performed with axial T2,DWI,GRE, coronal FLAIR and sagittal T1sequences. A 15 x 10 mm well defined trapezoid area of T2 prolongation is seen in the right sublentiform region. No significant mass effect is seen.
Avatar f tn My mother (age -53) had a left thalamic haemorrhage 3 months ago,due to hypertension. Which make her right side of body stop working. During recovery phase, after one month of first stroke she had another stroke at same spot. But that doesn't effect the recovery. Now her recovery is happening at good pase. But today in morning she felt dizzy so we took her to hospital and doctor says she has a minor bleed in basal ganglia.
Avatar n tn The rest of the brain shows a normal configuration and grey white matter differentiation. No other focal lesion, haemorrhage, mass effect, or oedema is demonstrated. The midline structures and craniocervical junction are intact, and no midline shift is detected. The pituary gland exhibits normal signal and size. The ventricles and extracerebral CSF spaces are normal in size. The visualised major intracranial vessel demonstrate normal signal flow voids.
Avatar n tn I also had an MRI/MRA and found a small aneurysm. When I went and saw a neurosurgeon they had me do an angiogram as well. Its considered the gold standard in finding aneurysms. I would suggest finding out your family history and see if anyone else has had them. If there is a familial connection the medical community can take different more aggressive tactics. I was rather surprised to find out a family member had had an annie.
Avatar n tn Hello, I’m in trouble with my father. He is suffering from pontine haemorrhage for past 5 monhs. Now he just has opened his eyes in 1st month, after no improvements from him. No moments in his body and no more symptoms of further improvements for 4 months. He is still hanging with it. No ups and no downs. Not good and clear answers from doctors. He said he can’t save him after my father opened his eyes and keep him in home with all necessaries.
Avatar n tn Hi, I was diagnosed with an "incidental left frontal cavernous malformation with acute haemorrhage" two weeks ago. I went to a hospital, they did a CT scan and an MRI and the I was released shortly after the MRI results. I was a bit shocked in the hospital and failed to ask questions which I should have. I've made an appointment to see a neurosurgeon in 6 weeks to take another look and tell me what's up, but in the interim I am worrying.
Avatar f tn However, the gold standard in evaluating the blood supply of the brain is through 4 vessel angiogram which is an invasive procedure. It will all depend on what your doctor is considering, and he or she will be contented with the accuracy of the MRA. Regards and God bless.
Avatar f tn 2 week long severe headache with numbness on left hand side of face, migraines/headaches (usually develops on the left hand side of brain near the front - occasionally at the base of the brain (but very rare), diagnosed with depression and anxiety, vertigo (usually the right ear, some issues of balance pops up occasionally as well). I have issues with heat (had a heat stroke and heat exhaustion when I was 16, ever since I am very sensitive to heat).
359574 tn?1328360424 My 5 mm annie on the internal carotid has the ophthalmic artery coming out the side of it. The doctor who did my angiogram told me it wasn't treatable through endovascular means like coiling because it would cut off blood to the eye. The surgeon also told me a craniotomy and clipping is riskier than leaving it alone and monitoring it. At my one year follow-up, the CT Angiogram showed no changes.
Avatar n tn My wife & I are 5 weeks pregnant. This is our 4th pregnancy. We are yet to bring a baby home. We have had 2 miscarriages & our baby boy, Hamish was born at 28 weeks, but died of a brain haemorrhage 4 days later. We are currently looking into taking progesterone to hopefully help us get further into our pregnancy. Is this safe for my wife & are there any known side effects for the baby?
1213000 tn?1280463161 On May 19, after a MRI stress test was abnormal and an angiogram showed diffuse restonosis of the LAD stents, I underwent CABG (4X). 10 weeks later, another abnormal MRI stress test and on 30 July another angiogram. the results of thst angiogram was, all stents are now closed, all grafts are open but there is flow irregularities that may be caused by size mismatch between the vein grafts and the native arteries. This is being treated with Metprolol 25 mg and Diltiazem 120.
Avatar f tn My husband suffered a heart attack in Nov 2007, and had a estimated down time of 10 minutes which resulted in an anoxic brain injury. He was in a coma for approximately 6 weeks, and his prognosis was very grim in the beginning. However in the last 6 months, he has woken from his coma, began speaking, has a good handle on a lot of long term memories, but his short term is suffering. He is now eating regular food at least once a day with his speech therapist.

Avatar f tn They found a 4mm carotid aneurysm in my scan last week. I am to get a CT Angiogram Wed and then see the neurosurgeon in August. I am on coumadin due to a blood clot in my sagittal sinus (reason why they found the aneurysm) from 2009. Was just wondering if someone has been through this process before and what I need to expect.
Avatar m tn Sometimes a dye may be injected into a vein to highlight blood flow in your arteries and veins, CT angiogram and provide additional detail regarding appearance of brain aneurysm. MRI can create detailed images of your brain and show aneurysm’s location. Hope this helps. Take care.
