I have heard of this and it isn't safe at all nor remotely accurate. Urine has ammonia in it and when ammonia and bleach mix it releases a very toxic gas, and almost always when urine hits bleach it will fiz or foam that's what creates the gas. I had a friend who tried this once in high school, (just for fun, she wasn't pregnant nor did she want to be) and she ended up in the hospital from the gas it created. Sorry didn't mean to scare you just stating the facts.

What test do they do to test for to test for ammonia. I was just looking through the test that they have given me and I can't find one that says anything about ammonia. They do give me lactolose to try to prevent that, but I just wondered what the test is called. My albumin was a little low so was my sodium, and calcium, on my last test. They do give me propranolol, now, for my varices. They also give a bunch of dieritics. We'll 40mg furosemide and 100mg spironolacton.

My liver biopsy showed a 2 but a blood ammonia test was over 190 so my gastro want me to start the treatment as soon as possible. I also have Ankylosing Spondylitis a form of arthritis. I went to the doctor and he assigned me a blood test to test my ammoneia count. When i got the results it was over 200. After that it went down but just recently i've been experiencing the exact same symptoms. You sound like you suffer significant anxiety. Who keeps an hiv test kit with them and keeps looking at it? If you actually did have an exposure which I only question because you are afraid of blood in an hiv testing kit and didn't write to us about an unprotected sex exposure (or did you?). Of course there isn't blood on the kit. You don't get hiv from a test kit. You don't get it from touching blood.

It can be more useful after several tests have been run. An ammonia test also does not have the ability to detect other toxins which may be contributing to, or could even be the sole cause of any encephalopathy in a patient. What did your doctor say about it ?

To remove doubts, not that I have many left, I have ordered a testing kit. According to the information around this kit it is based on a urine sample which you send away. It is meant to be accurate if you have symptoms. This is day 7 after oral sex given to me, I am male and I sure have symptoms. The kit arrives tomorrow. Are these kits accurate, or do I need to see a doctor too to confirm? Any help appreciated.

Are the current rapid test kit available in the market today and usa fda approved (i.e. abbott determine hiv 1/2) will able to detect anti-bodies even in such rare cases hiv type Group N? I raised this question because on inverness medical website abbott determine hiv 1/2 does not indicate their that it also covers HIV GROUP N. Hi, I did a self test using rapid home test kit for hiv 1 & 2 after 3 months of last sexual encounter with a csw. It tested negative. Is this result conclusive? & how reliable are the rapid test kits?

It sounds like you need more carbs, less protein and more water in your diet. Can you say what your diet is like? Do you eat a lot of meat and very little carbohydrates? If this ratio becomes unbalanced it can cause the ammonia smell in your sweat and bowel movements.

Hey dog, sorry about your difficulty but I gotta ask you something. Why would you test your ammonia level if you're not cirrhotic? Just wondering really, never heard of anyone testing their level before unless they had to. good luck!
