after reaserch on my machine i was exposed to ammonia gas given off from sodium nitrate in the water,the ph level was 12 when i found out after ph of 7 ammonia gas is given off,i was not protected by any ppe.the question was can this chemical cause my cluster headaches,as i know ammonia can trigger them off but dont know about causing them...thanks glen.

Kinda like those little ammonia-capsules that you find in first-aid kits? I have tons of those lying around the house. Took a first-aid class many years ago, and my sustaining memory from the class (15 years ago), was when the instructor made us each break one of those things under our noses so we could see what it was like. Not amusing. Do people actually use those things to get high?

Could the potassium nitrate in toothpaste for sensitive teeth be enough to cause palpitations? I have used it for quite a while and ran out about a month ago. When I bought toothpaste got regular by mistake and used the whole tube. During this time my palps were the best they have been in a LONG time. Hardly even noticed anything. Ran out of toothpaste, bought the sensitive stuff and after about a week I'm flipping and flopping all over the place again.

I have heard of this and it isn't safe at all nor remotely accurate. Urine has ammonia in it and when ammonia and bleach mix it releases a very toxic gas, and almost always when urine hits bleach it will fiz or foam that's what creates the gas. I had a friend who tried this once in high school, (just for fun, she wasn't pregnant nor did she want to be) and she ended up in the hospital from the gas it created. Sorry didn't mean to scare you just stating the facts.

What test do they do to test for to test for ammonia. I was just looking through the test that they have given me and I can't find one that says anything about ammonia. They do give me lactolose to try to prevent that, but I just wondered what the test is called. My albumin was a little low so was my sodium, and calcium, on my last test. They do give me propranolol, now, for my varices. They also give a bunch of dieritics. We'll 40mg furosemide and 100mg spironolacton.

From what I understand, once the test line matches or is darker than your control line, it's predicting you will ovulate within next 24-36 hrs? I think is the time frame.

My liver biopsy showed a 2 but a blood ammonia test was over 190 so my gastro want me to start the treatment as soon as possible. I also have Ankylosing Spondylitis a form of arthritis. Since not all persons with cirrhosis are affected by elevated ammonia levels what’s the point in the test? Some persons are greatly affected with slightly elevated ammonia levels while others with experience no symptoms of hepatic encephalopathy with high ammonia levels or vice versa. I went to the doctor and he assigned me a blood test to test my ammoneia count. When i got the results it was over 200. After that it went down but just recently i've been experiencing the exact same symptoms. I recently found out I had high ammonia, it was 66, I am taking lactalose and it is is now normal. All my blood work is within normal ranges on my liver function test and I also had a sonogram, have a mild fatty liver. Was wondering what could have caused this. I do drink a few beers a night.

I did it, i did at home ammonia free, i had ombre done after first tri.or sometime during the 3months in june. Then went over it all to do a good transition, then touched up my roots later, and just last month went over my entire hair to go dark again and one color. Keep it ventilated, ammonia free, and i also did my roots last so it wasn't too long on it. Lastly my hair dresser had told me as well its ok to dye hair. Hope that helped a little.

Overall I would just see a Dr for a test. I know these test kits are approved for home but thought you had to send them in for the result.

Usually, the 7-test kits are midstream test, so a little easier to use, while the higher-quantity ones tend to be strips that needs to be dipped in urine, so requiring that you collect it in a cup first. Hi, I used an ovulation testing kit this month. The best way to do this is to pee in the cup then hold the strip in the cup for 10-15 secs (thats wat i did). On CD12 i tested, got a control line but no test line. on CD15 i tested & got both the Control line & test line, and my test line was darker than my control. The test line HAS to be darker than the control line to be a positive for ovulation. If it is fainter than the control line, then its not a positive for ovulation.

Teak, I understand there are no "home test kits" approved, but the FDA does approve the Home Access Express HIV-1 Test System in which you sample at home and send in for results. I was inquiring about this one. Any help would be appreciated. I can't find anything on the web.
