I know that in previous discussions about Vitamin D, it came up that D3 gel caps were the kind to take. I asked my GPs advice nurse about it, as I had some tablets that said Dry Vitamin D on the bottle. She replied that there is no scientific evidence that the D3 gel caps work better, but that a lot of their patients had better results with them, that there was plenty of anectdotal evidence to support that use of D3 gel caps.

I started Bio Tears Oral Gel Caps this week for dry eyes. They increase my heart rate and make me anxious. I've read the ingredients and don't see any reason they should do this. Is there any logic to this reaction.

It makes my heart race and increases vertigo/head fog. I DO tolerate the gel caps with NO reaction. (they look like Vit-E gel caps). I am taking 2000 units per day. (I couldn't even tolerate 1000 units in the white tablet.) So whatever is used as a binder or in addition to the Vit-D in the white tablet form does not agree with me. I was so relieved when I found the gel caps on line!!!!

My cycles are irregular, but I visited gynaecologist and she said everything is ok. My dermatologist gave me for therapy Sona gel by night, during the day Klindamicin gel/ 3 weeks and then neutral creams, Hiramycin caps a 100mg 2x1/7days, then 1x1/2weeks, and UV protection. What do You think about it? My problem started when I heard that Klindamicin gel can´t be bought in my country. Do You know any good replacement for that medication? If not can I use only Sona gel and pills?

Ihave always been able to take Gel caps and anything smaller than 800mg Ibuprophen as long as it wasn't circular. I researched, nature made has a gel cap with dha. Gel caps have less fillers and dissolve quickest so you will absorb them quicker. I also take an extra 400 mcg of folic acid to equal the amount that in the prescribed kind. These have never made me sick. The tablets your can taste the vitamins I don't taste anything with these. I recommend highly recommend them. They are inexpensive too. My doc said they are perfect. I trust everything that man says. He's a great doc.

m not sure what difference gel caps would make. It would seem that you could use up the ones you have if they are of proper dosage.

The reason physicians prescribe D2 is that it's the only form of vitamin d to receive FDA approval for mega dosing at levels of 50,000 IUs. Many people tolerate it well and can get there levels up quickly; other people (especially older people like me) have trouble tolerating it. I have friends that swear by the 50000 but it didn't work for me due to side effects. As to D3 the most bioavailable form is gel caps.

I could not tolerate vitamin D3 10,000 IUs or even 6000. What worked for me was gradually going up to a dose of D3 gel caps 2 1000 IU caps in the mornining with breakfast and 2 1000 IU caps in the evening with dinner. It's also important to get enough magnesium to absorb the vitamin D and to take it with a fat also for absorption. As I said I worked up to this gradually and, for me, I was unable to go up higher even to 5000 IUs, though some on this forum have no problem with high doses.
