I started taking Ambien & Prozac in Oct 2009. I started building a resistance so my doctor prescribed for me Restoril, that didn't work so she started me on Lunesta. After I started building a resistance to the Lunesta my doctor prescribed for me Ambien CR 12.5mg. It's now March 2010 and I need 4 or more Ambien CR to sleep. I can't sleep without it!!! I haven't taken the CR 12.5mg in 24hr and I have the common addiction symptoms.
Now, several days later, I have reduced the intake of the hydrocodone in the last two days from the 45 mg to 15 mg as the pain hs been subsiding. I brought the ambien back upto 10 mg and I still can barely sleep and again that is partly due to the sling, but i only fall asleep for 2 - 3 hours and then i'm awake again. I feel like a zombie during the day and not tired enough at night. Then, i become anxious that i'm not sleeping.
Also,I have been on ambien 3 or more years now and as my tolerance builts up I need two 10mg ambien to go to sleep and I only get a 3 day supply. I take 2 or more a night and run out 15 days early where I get absolutly no sleep at all. I mean it none. Drs wont perscribe 2 ambien a night and I need to get off of it. I have had chronic insomnia since I was 14 and tried everything and w/o the ambien I get no sleep.
the pain medicine I take makes my mind race if I'm on it around the clock. I don't take more than prescribed but I did notice that after I lowered my dose, got off it completely for a few days and then slowly started with 1 dose a day and then 2 where I'm at currently, When I was at the end of that 3 day period it's like my body "reset".
I was able to get tired earlier, and able to sleep sounder.
5 mg ffor a period of time ( month or two) , I then found a book book about how to handle RLS without drugs and got off the oxycodone altogether in early 2012. I was able to handle my symptoms without oxycodone using hot baths and some other tricks to get to sleep . I also suffer from moderate depression and use Wellbutrin to help keep that in check. Wellbutrin is one of the few antidepressants that is RLS friendly.
I like to drink grapefruit juice but hear that it can interfere with some prescription medications. Is that true?

Yes. Grapefruit and certain other citrus fruits and products can interfere with several kinds of prescription medications.
Don't take these interactions lightly. Some can cause potentially dangerous health problems.
I was left with anxiety and insomnia from my prior treatment. I take 5mg Ambien and .05mg Xanax in the evenings to help me relax and sleep. I also suffer from chronic back pain and use .25mg of Oxycodone when needed. I also use a drug called Acyclovir 200mg daily to control herpes virus. My concern is that these drugs may effect the treatment with Sovaldi/Olysio. I want to beat this virus this time! My Dr.
But after a few years, the oxy blocks my dopermine in the brain, and depression sets in. I was on them once before and the same thing happened. I had to detox off of them in 2003 for the same reason. Took me 3 weeks cold turkey. This time Im weaning fast, cause I hate the depression it's giving me. So, Im kinda going cold turkey but take a half every six to 12 hours to give myself some releif. The depression left after 2 days, just the anxiety of detoxing is there with detox pain.
t take it away but make life a little bit easier. I also take Tizanadine and oxycodone for flare ups. In the morning I start taking Savella the new Fibromyalgia medication. My Rheumatologist gave me a four week starter pack of Savella today. I'm really nervous to take this medication because both Cymbalta and Lyrica were horrible medications for me. The side effects scare me. Suicide, nausea, vomiting, bleeding problems, rashes, etc. and I do mean the list goes on and on. Wish me luck.
I'm taking 9 mg of methodone a day and are taking 4mg of Ativan and 4 mg of dilaudid 2 a day. I've been on meds for 6.5 years. I'm 39 and fill all I do is take meds . I quite once and the pain was to bad is this a lot of med?
I created a lot of stress with my own addictions and problems. She went to a Dr and got put on ambien and quickly learned that she enjoyed the feeling of how they made her feel. She went back and got on klonopin on top of it and that quickly became her thing. I feel like she did it thinking it would be a temporary way to show me up, almost as if to say...well you do drugs professionally, like a full time job, so I'm gonna do it. I know she would never really want to live that life.
I do believe that my digestion has been sped up, and I believe the Erythromycin sped up the Percocet in my body and essentially made it as if I overdosed. I tried talking to a pharmacist about this, but she said the Percocet would have stayed in my body for a longer period of time, not run through it faster. I don't believe this is the case, though, because after an hour and a half all of my pain was back again. My heart calmed, I stopped shaking, and I was in pain.
Today I also realized that I have been taking Ambien (Zolpidem) on and off since I quit Trams. Could the Zolpidem be affecting me this way or is this a normal process of Tramadol healing? Today is just really bad, that is why I posted. I have such a hard time with things. For example, Before I go grocery shopping I will make a list of everything, but when I am at the store, I just walk up and down the aisles and can't even think straight. This is not normal!
I have been having such a major problem going to bed and going to sleep!! I have taken my seroquel 400 mg., ambien, 6 mg. of melatonin....and this is just not working anymore!!
What do you guys think!!? My liver feels swollen. I feel 8 months pregnant today! By the way...I am NOT pregnant!! they tested me before my liver biopsy! lol. I told Jeff, my nurse, that I have not had relations in 6-7 years. He had to test me anyway.

I a rare occassion she had both meds in her possession yesterday and she just told me that last night she had taken the ambien and doesn't remember much, but she woke up and realized there were 14 or 15 of the pills gone.
Her husband told her she was asleep midnight so she thinks she took the pills before then.
Then she told me that she woke up with a bad headache and took a total of 6 or 7 fioricet around 1:00 this afternoon.
So I'm worried, is she in danger at this very moment?
