Ambien and zoloft interaction

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien and zoloft interaction

ambien

1995824 tn?1330379049 This is long and I apologize for that. I have only been on triple treatment for a week and a few days - incivek, riba, and interferon. My second shot was on Friday. Although my first week side effects were tolerable, I have been brought to my knees this week-end and totally understand what people are talking about when it comes to dizziness and nausea and headache! My main issue, however, is sleep - or lack thereof.
Avatar m tn google "drug drug interaction" and you will find options for checking medication interactions....i use one of these sites regularly and some allow you to set up your own medication profiles. good luck!
Avatar f tn If you stopped drinking so much and took up exercise or meditation, you might find the ambien can go, too, and the Zoloft would have a better chance of working.
Avatar f tn I have recently been put on Zoloft and was informed that taking both at the same time could cause stomach bleeding, but my doctor said she would put me on the Zoloft anyway. Is this safe? I normally do not take the naproxen every day but there are times I do take it daily for a week or two when my back is especially inflamed. I would like to continue taking both medications if possible. Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn I started taking Ambien & Prozac in Oct 2009. I started building a resistance so my doctor prescribed for me Restoril, that didn't work so she started me on Lunesta. After I started building a resistance to the Lunesta my doctor prescribed for me Ambien CR 12.5mg. It's now March 2010 and I need 4 or more Ambien CR to sleep. I can't sleep without it!!! I haven't taken the CR 12.5mg in 24hr and I have the common addiction symptoms.
Avatar f tn Have been on Zoloft 25mg for 3 weeks new doc wants to put me on abilify 2mg with the Zoloft to see if it makes it work better. What sort of side effects does this cause and is it helpful?
1501613 tn?1289319749 Is it safe to take both? I take the Zoloft during the day and Paxil at night because I noticed it helps me sleep.
Avatar m tn Now, several days later, I have reduced the intake of the hydrocodone in the last two days from the 45 mg to 15 mg as the pain hs been subsiding. I brought the ambien back upto 10 mg and I still can barely sleep and again that is partly due to the sling, but i only fall asleep for 2 - 3 hours and then i'm awake again. I feel like a zombie during the day and not tired enough at night. Then, i become anxious that i'm not sleeping.
Avatar f tn Has anyone experienced breathing problems with Zoloft. Youknow, the "I can't quite catch my breath" feeling. And if you yawn you finally get enough air. My heart and lungs have checked out fine. Other than that , I feel much better for since being on it for 2weeks. Also, any thoughts on the sucess of other meds besides zoloft? Prozac? Lexapro?
Avatar m tn It has come to a point where I need to medicate myself with several different medicines in order to fall asleep. I usually take Ambien 10 mg and I take two od those and sometimes Xanax 1 mg. I have noticed that Ambien doesnt really help much anymore. I just feel weird when I take it. Sometimes when I dont take anything to sleep and I manage to fall asleep, I have very vivid dreams and nightmares. Even after taking medicine, I dont usually fall asleep until 4 am and I am up at 8 or 9.
Avatar f tn I take my zoloft and ativan in morning as it me jittery and causes insomnia. I have seasonal allergies and was wondering the best OTC antihistamine would work better. Allegra, Zyrtec or loratadine. I was on 12.5 zoloft for 2 weeks and tapering up to 25 mg (split another 12.5 in half so 3/4 a pill then one whole 25 mg. I have to do this slowly as I am super sensitive to meds. Thanks for any help. Plus I eventually need to taper down my ativan when I level on the zoloft.
Avatar f tn but, at least from my view on the bleachers....it seems like you are going on.. and then off the Ambien.... as well as going on... and off the Amitryptiline. They both can aide with sleep.....but you will have rebound affects from stopping and starting the Ambien. And your blood levels don't ever reach an "even" dose of the Ami if you don't CONSISTENTLY take it. It builds.....and then it becomes affective.
1282280 tn?1285086420 i was diagnosed with sleep insomnia, ptsd, panic disorder, and major depresive disorder a little over a yr. ago. at first, the dr's just had me on a low dose of zoloft to see if it would help. tho it did help with the depression and a little with the anxiety, i still couldn't sleep. after raising the dose of my zoloft a few more times, and trying seroquil, the dr's finally put me on ambien when i couldn't sleep.
603543 tn?1255294450 Did you ask your pharmacist if abilify and ambien and any other meds you might be taking, including OTC meds, might be interacting to cause you to feel like this? Sometimes pharmacists know more about adverse drug interactions than dr's. Just a thought.
Avatar n tn Since then, I have been taking Zoloft. Thr Dr. gradually increased my dose from 25mg to 150mg. I stayed and the 150mg until 2 weeks ago. I was telling the Dr. that it seems like my anxiety was coming back. She upped my dosage to 200mg about 2 weeks ago. I was doing good the 1st week, now this week I am an anxious mess. I can't tell if I am better or worse than I was before the dosage increase. Can it be the Zoloft that is creating this extra anxiety? HELP!
Avatar f tn You are correct about there the MAJOR drug interaction between tramadol and sertraline (Zoloft). Please note that there are several moderate drug interactions with your medications, for example, sertraline (Zoloft), pregabalin (Lyrica), clonidine, and methocarbamol (Robaxin) all can increase side effects such dizziness, drowsiness, and impaired thinking and judgment when taken together. It would be a good idea to review your medication regimen with your provider and pharmacist.
Avatar m tn the doc put me on 50mg Zoloft i have been on it for about 8 days and its giving me insomnia. I took zoloft about 2 years ago and it did this briefly and then quit (hoping it will stop again). The doc thought about putting me on Cymbalta instead but i went with the Zoloft since i had taken it before and it was "okay"/ some positve help..
Avatar n tn I shifted to taking during the daytime and using ambien (generic) and had a slight improvement in sleeping, but still trouble staying asleep, and still dream cycles. Understand we all have, must have, periods of REM sleep, which is when the dreaming usually/always (?) takes place. Happily most of us don't wake up between REM and when we do wake up we don't remember dreaming, so dream content can't spoil your day.
