Avatar m tn Cirpo now has a black box warning on it meaning that there is a moderate to high chance that you could suffer from tendonitis or ruptured acheilles tendon. It also should not be taken if you suffer from bursitis. I have added it and its cousin (levofloxcin) to my allergy list even though it's not a true allergy. I tell my friends and family to stay away from this medication. Rest is usually all it takes to heal the tendonitis but, sometimes it is permanent damage.
765775 tn?1366024691 SAMe is an antidepressant as well as a sulphur compound that helps with bone and joint healing. Some antidepressants can cause anxiety in those prone to anxiety, though I never heard this with SAMe. If you're worried, use MSM, another sulphur compound that will do the same thing for your joints and bones, but isn't an antidepressant, and it's a lot less expensive than SAMe.
Avatar f tn Hi. I have always been physically active and have never been overweight. There is no arthritis in my family and feel that for most of my life have eaten properly. I have arthritis in my hip.
Avatar m tn Ok, this may seem weird, but please bear with me. I may have a shiver or a shudder as some call it, a few times throughout the day. They actually feel rather good, and I do it whether Im cold or not, and its like a half a second shiver. Sometimes it feels like a reset. Anyhow, I've been taking dandelion root, because I heard it was a great detox, and contains TONS of vitamins that are natural. I've felt great taking it.
Avatar f tn Hi, this is for anyone here. I have been having some hairloss and I have been taking MSM aka Methylsulfonylmethane and my question is can it cause heart disease? Or any other heart problems or high blood pressure? I am a 23 year old male and just wanted to know if I should quit now and try taking fish oil? I like the way MSM works but if it is going to do damage to my heart or body then I want to quit while im ahead.
Avatar m tn Is it true that if you take MSM it will help reduce scaring? I have a pretty bad scab from a chemical burn and wondering if i should go get some...
Avatar m tn I tested negative close to the 9-week mark using oraquick finger stick. It was a relief (MSM exposure). However, I could read recent articles (2009-2011) published in recognized medical magazines (specially in Seattle-King County, San Francisco and NY). In those papers, they conclude, basically, as to rapid tests or standard 2nd generation, that “window period” for recent infection (not acute) could be longer than they thought. 1)I am planning to test again in 13-week mark.
Avatar n tn ve had problems with cystic acne for 20 years and finally found something that works! I found MSM gel, and also take MSM by mouth in pill form. And MSM is natural! I did a lot of research on it before I tried it, and thought it probably wouldn't work, but it does! Also, sulfur helps - like a sulfur mask & I've heard of sulfur soap but haven't tried that. I ordered the MSM gel & supplements from They carry everything.
Avatar n tn t want to take any vitamin supplements orally because of fear of side effects. I purchased biotin 5000mg, nacin, msm 1000mg, vitamin E oil and 8 oz of coconut oil. I grounded each tablets and mixed it with coconut oil. I apply this mixer on my scalp once a week. My question is am I being smart? What are the side effects of applying this supplements directly on my scalp? Should I be careful about using msm or nacin on my scalp?
Avatar n tn Shark liver oil will boost the immune system and will take care of any URT infection your dog may have. Also use 500mg MSM powder in his food. You can get the powder form or just open a MSM capsule. MSM will help deyoxify his system, boost immunity, reduce inflammation and allergies and is very good for the lungs in general. It's great for people as well as pups. These three agents will work together to heal any infection and reduce any allergies your dog may have.
Avatar f tn Hey guys, This problem started about 5 weeks ago after I had protected sex with a CSW. Ever since then I have had this skin irritation between my legs which extends to inside my butt. The thing is that I keep good Hygiene, shower every day etc. I did research to see if it is possibly an STD but didn't find anything that fits. I even have a slight burning sensation in my Urethra. I thought this could possibly be fungus, so I went to a dermatologist and he said it was not fungus.
Avatar m tn Please note that I had briefly experimented with the carnosine drops alone, but find that they work much better if you also use MSM drops. MSM serves to make the eye structures more elastic and permeable.
Avatar n tn hey all! my name is Jennifer! i am doing a research paper on Aquagenic Urticaria. I was wondering if anyone who has this allergy could let me know how it effects your life, how you cope with it and how you got it. that would be so great! Its appreciated!!! thanks!
Avatar m tn Concerned about possible HIV risk. My research from past posts on this site suggests a low, yet theoretical risk for HPV, herpes, and syphilis. 24 hours post encounter a blotch like red spot has developed at the top of my nose between my eyebrows.
Avatar n tn I still use an albuterol nebulizer and antihistamines. I have added natural anti-inflammatories. These are vitamin B5, mullein extract and MSM. My breathing has actually improved since I am off that junk, and my sinus headaches are a thing of the past. (Vitamin B5 is also a mucolytic, or mucus thinner.) There are absolutely no side effects with these natural supplements.
6604030 tn?1383174451 I sympathize with you - I take Essiac capsules and MSM for my pain and it seems to work pretty well. Something else you could try is Turmeric with Curcumin. These are usually together in one formula and work on inflammation. Boswellia and amino acids are also recommended for pain. Hope this information is helpful. Wishing you the best outcome.
Avatar f tn So, I’ve been doing some more research, I was looking into bad breath as it seems to be a common denominator among us. I had bad breath growing up however since after high school it went away. I also did have a lot of work done to my teeth such as braces, extractions etc. (maybe that helped). Anyways, I remember reading a post about a woman who said a smell came from her until she had deep cleaning with her teeth and it went away for awhile.
Avatar m tn Just a very quick response to your question about MSM. MSM or to give it its full name - methylsulfonylmethane (quite a mouthful, no wonder it's commonly abbreviated) - is a very useful and mostly natural supplement. It acts in a very similar way to aspirin in humans, except it also has the benefit of healing tissues (not all tissues, but many). It can help maintain joint health and promote healing of the skin, bones, muscles and connective tissue.
Avatar f tn Folliculitis.
Avatar n tn I found this out when I did some research on non-toxic flea removal when I had issues with them after the first heat wave last year. My cat and I never had any issues in our previous apartment, so I knew it wasn't something we brought with us. I remembered that the previous tenant kept talking about some biting insects, but it was hard to get any sense out of the previous tenant because English was her second lanuage.
209987 tn?1451935465 My two yr old son had a blood allergy test done about a year ago...didn't show anything, but pediatrician said that most times the blood ones don't show much unless specifically searched for. My question is...he loves peanut butter...he eats it and never seems to get sick from it, except that he gets a pimply rash on his face where the peanut butter has touched him...could this be an allergy? Is his face possibly just sensitive to the oils?
7810280 tn?1394402426 I also have DDD and DJD. Currently I have no discs left. I am not taking meds. My orthopedist asked me how it was that I am walking upright without a cane or walker. She was surprised to learn that I am taking supplements and doing better than her other patients. Essiac is a tea - but I take it in capsule form and I also take MSM. I can't do without these two - take them everyday. They are also helping my Fibromyalgia - But I need Magnesium Glycinate for that as well.
