Common Questions and Answers about Allergy index washington

allergies

Avatar f tn I would get the western blot test from the University of Washington. That will confirm you actually have it or not. Those are all low values and fall into a possible false positive range. Having hsv1 there can be some cross over.
Avatar m tn although I am almost tempted not to retest due to emotional trauma also although no studies have been done specifically on it do you think that allergy testing could change my G-levels as i had that done the day before the first test and apparently G-glyoproteins are produced in response to allergys. last thing...
Avatar f tn I just wanted to get blood work done because I have never got it done before. My index for hsv 1/2 were POSITIVE both times. I can believe that I have hsv 1 because I have had cold sores. I was so shocked when the doctor told me I was positive for hsv-2. I have had only two sexual partners my entire life. These are my results: 4/10/2017 HSV 1 IGG Type Specific AB = 55.30 HSV 2 IGG Type Specific AB = 1.38 4/28/2017 HSV 1 IGG Type Specfic AB = 58.0 HSV 2 IGG Type Specific AB = 1.
Avatar n tn 00 H Index HSV 2 IGG Herpeselect type specific lab AB My index interpreatation was 1.10 Positive. Do I have genitial herpes?
Avatar n tn Herpeselct results: negative for hsv1 (index= .04) and positive for hsv2 ( index=3.3) Western blot results from university of washington: positive for hsv2 and negative for hsv2. Which test is valid?
Avatar f tn s only the actual test (IgG or IgM or QuickVue) that you need to know about and what your actual index values were for each test. Taking the same test multiple times over a short time span will not provide any guiding information. If your index values are in the low positive range you should absolutely have a HSV2 western blot done by the University of Washington. All the info is available to google.
Avatar f tn Not likely a false positive. That is a pretty high index number. False positives usually fall between 1.1 and 3.5. Though it isn’t totally outside the realm of possibility that it is false, since you haven’t had symptoms, you could get a Western Blot test, which is only done at the University of Washington. It can be ordered through them. If you want absolute confirmation, this would be the route to go.
Avatar f tn Back In April I Tested Positive in a clinic For HSV 2 with a index number of 1.19 I got tested the same week i got my results back at my primary doctor and tested positive again with a index number of 1.21 And never had no symptoms And my partner has no symptoms and we been together for a year I went to plenty of doctors consulting about herpes .. some say i have it .. and some say i dont .. at this point i dont know what to believe.. and its been taking a toll on me Do i have herpes?
Avatar n tn my index finger is geting swollen in the middle and it stings when bend it what can be the cause of it
Avatar f tn So on 10/31/16 I went to quest diagnostic to get my blood drawn and everything came back negative except for HSV-2 the index value was 1.48. They used the HSV 2 Igg Herpeselect AB testing. I haven't had an outbreak yet. Then I went back again to get tested they used the HSV 2 Igg Herpeselect AB W/REFL came back with an index value 1.75 HSV 2 Igg inhibition interpretation positive. So does it mean that I am positive with HSV2? Or can this be a false positive?
Avatar f tn The heat kills me too. I'm in Washington DC where it gets hot and humid. During summer months we do a lot of field trips with my students. I would be ok with that in 'normal' circumstances but I'm 25 weeks preggo and I don't enjoy taking 20 kids out in the city! It's physically demanding and I'm not in the best shape of my life right now. I guess, I'm venting since you've touched the subject ;) I honestly don't have a recipe for surviving the heat.
Avatar m tn It appears that the Westover Heights Clinic is no longer able to order the test so my question is what is the best way to go about getting a Western Blot done? Should I just call University of Washington to order it and ship it myself?
Avatar m tn Hello, I just found out that similar to "At-Home" tests that diabetics use, they also sell "at home" allergy blood tests that will tell you whether you are allergic to something or not. I know that it is not as thorough as the skin pr!ck test, but it's "something". Have any of you successfully used any? Any brand names or information that you would be able to recommend? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I understand the result could be accurate considering, however if I have zero symptoms, and both men have zero symptoms and their tests are negative, is it possible this low index is a false positive? I asked the OB this and she completely dismissed me. I have read online any index below 3.5 possibly is a false positive. Does anyone know the % of accracy of this test and should I be re tested? And if so which test? Westen Blot or the IGg test again? Should my OB re test?
Avatar n tn I was so shocked that I had to go back and get retested for hsv2 in Feb. The results came out positive again. The index values were not reported but they told me that for the Herpeselect the Igg values were around 5. There was no mention of values on the result. It just said Ref range negative and Flag A (don't know till date what that means!). So recently (May 2011) I sent my sample for a Western Blot just to be sure as I had no symptoms and the results indicate a negative hsv 2 status.
Avatar n tn Hello, Not sure if I can help in finding latex free products. But if the allergy is troublesome, you could try desensitizing yourself, with the help of an allergy specialist. Warm regards.
Avatar m tn First phallange of index finger is swollen. Inflammation on handling dusty objects. Advise.
Avatar m tn If your test comes back with low values again seek out the western blot test from the university of Washington. Contact the west overheights clinic in portland and they can set it all up for you.
Avatar m tn I was negative for HSV1. My HSV 2 index was 1.15, and my current partner who I have been having sex with for over a year got tested this week and was negative. The last time I had sex before this relationship was two years ago. Is it possible my results were a false positive or is that unlikely?
Avatar m tn I went to my PM 2wks ago and again tested for IgG hsv2 and again my index was 1.40. I have not had sex in 2yrs, both my previous partners are negative and I have never ever had symptoms, no sores, no burning....nothing. I am extremely concerned and very worried. I am in a new relationship and don't really know how to tell my new partner I have herpes! I have read a lot of scientific journals that state that an index between 1.1-3.
Avatar f tn The day after that my results for chlamydia came back positive and so did herpes simplex virus 2.my index number was 2.30 but the nurse practitioner told me that it is unlikely for that number to go back down or be a false positive. I have no symptoms of genital herpes and even took a physical examination for any herpes symptoms.Should I retest or just let it go?
Avatar m tn I do plan to follow-up on testing because of the wide fluctuation in my HSV2 index numbers. And I feel you are correct with your assessment that in my case there is a chance that an error in processing may have occurred with respect to my HSV2 tests. Test #1 from 2010 HerpeSelect HSV1 0.35 HerpeSelect HSV2 8.79 Test #2 from 2012 Captia HSV1 0.461 Captia HSV2 0.735 It does not make sense that a person could test positive in 2010 and then negative in 2012.
Avatar m tn Prior to testing i havent had sexual contact since i found out i was pregnant which was about a year ago, I did extensice research because i just couldnt believe i had this virus. I learned the index values actually mean something. I called the doctors office and found out my index values were 2.5 (low positive) on the Herpeselect IGG test. So i hit the internet again and became a patient for Terri Warren and we talked and she suggested i have a western blot for confirmation.
