Common Questions and Answers about Allergies under eye circles

allergies

Avatar m tn I have read on a lot of forums that under eye circles can be caused by dehydration, malnutrition, vitamin deficiencies, sleep deprivation, etc. For the record, I would like to say that I drink quite a bit of water daily and eat pretty good, I hardly eat out and I take a centrum multivitamin each day. I also workout about 5 times a week doing a little bit of something whether its running, pushups etc.
Avatar f tn Hi, Dark circles under the eyes are most often caused by allergies, illness, a lack of sleep, or heredity. If your dark circles are caused by heredity, you may find that they are almost impossible to completely eliminate. In the morning, wash your face with cold water to help blood vessels constrict. Then, apply an eye cream that contains Retinol and vitamin K. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables to prevent the vitamin deficiencies that can affect your skin’s appearance.
Avatar f tn ve found that vitamin c eye gel from the body shop does wonders for under eye circles. You can also do a treatment with black tea bags- brew two bags of tea, take the bags and put them in the refrigerator for an hour, then apply the cold tea bags to your eyes for about 20 minutes. It's a easy way to apply the caffeine that the other commenter mentioned above. Happy thoughts!
Avatar m tn For the past two years or so, I have struggled with my dark under eye circles and bags. People constantly comment on how tired I look and I hardly feel I look my age...26. I have tried so many different eye creams (even the ridiculously expensive ones) and have had very little success. What creams, concealers and natural remedies do you recommend?
Avatar n tn I have and always have had very dark circles under my eyes.
Avatar m tn Hello, Dark circles under the eyes are temporary and caused due to insomnia, smoking, a family history of dark circles, deficiency of vit K in diet, allergies like sinusitis and eczema, and adrenal gland disorders. Take rest adequately and eat healthy nutritious food containing lots of green vegetables. Try to avoid caffeine, because it promotes water retention and leads to the dryness of the eye.
Avatar n tn I have major dark under eye circles. I don't know what I should do about them? I get at least 8 to 10 hours sleep every night and drink plenty of water. I have tried a few eye cremes that claim to get rid of dark circles but to no avail and I really don't want to have to spend hundreds of dollars on any more eye cremes that are probably just making the problem worse.
Avatar m tn I have had dark circles under my eyes for about 2 years now and it seems to have started after I began college. So maybe I'm not getting enough sleep due to my schedule and everything. But its summer now and I have been getting plenty of sleep but there has been no change. Maybe there is some other reason that the dark circles are there, not having to do with sleep depression. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn A few months ago, I believe due to either a cold or allergies, the skin under both of my eyes became a little swollen and puffy. I took some medicine to reduce this and it seemed to go away after a few days. Soon after, the skin under my left eye was totally normal but then I noticed that the discomfort under my right eye remained.
Avatar f tn For the past 5 mornings, my 9 month old daughter has woken up with alarming red circles under her eyes. In the same place as a typical dark under eye circle, but pinkish red in color. She's had them before, but they usually go away after a day or so, and then we don't see them again for a while. But we are going on 5 days here, and I am stumped as to what is causing them, but they look terrible, and I often see her rubbing them as if they bother her.
Avatar m tn i am 42 years male .i have black circles under eyes.how to clear the shade.kindly advice. thanks, C.Gowtham chand jain, INDIA.
Avatar f tn About six months ago I returned from a trip to Florida (where incidentally I partook in a week of tanning) with very dark circles under my eyes. I tried various eye creams and to no avail. Upon consulting my dermatologist he said that they are hereditary, however I found this hard to believe given that they practically showed up over night! Now, just as I was learning to live with the fact that I look like I never sleep, the skin under my eyes has turned white.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am a 14 year old boy who has been experiencing huge bags under my eyes when I wake in the morning and a lot of the time last the whole day with lines under my eyes(though less noticeable). In the morning , it feels like my eye lids feel heavy and when I look in the mirror, it looks like they my eye lids are half closed. I started realizing this during the summer when I went on a 2 week bike trip along the coast of California.
Avatar m tn I always have some level of darkness under my eyes (who doesn't?) but this is beyond a normal dark circle and it's only present under one eye. In photos, it looks like someone punched me in the eye. This has been present for years so it isn't going away naturally. Could some kind of injury / trauma / medical condition be causing this? Should I see a specialist -- if so, what sort would be most appropriate?
Avatar f tn Right under the white circles are freckled dark spots all along the underneath of the white circles which makes the white stand out even more. Also, my eyes look more sunken in under them and where the darker freckled patches are it is puffy. I really need some help. This problem is really affecting me and is making me very self conscious. I believe that a certain Neutrogena product caused it. I thought it was a make-up concealer that helps diminish puffiness and dark circles.
Avatar n tn I am currently taking Allegra-D and Singulair for my allergies. My doctor had prescribed me to Pata-a-Day Eye Drops as well, but they became too expensive and weren't working very well, so i switch to an over the counter brand. My medicine is obviously not working very great either. Does anyone know of an effective treatment that will help me with this? Thanks.
Avatar f tn Sometimes I notice it with a glass of wine, though *In addition, in the last six months, I have also noticed a dramatic increase in broken red capillary lines on my cheeks, puffy under eyes, dark under eye circles, and a big increase in my ammount of fine lines around my eyes in just a few months. This would seem normal for an old person, but I'm not even 30 yet.
225237 tn?1333138999 Does anyone know what causes really dark circles around the eyes?? And what an you do to get rid of them?? I have always had dark circles around my eyes but some days its worse than others. I am pretty pale skinned and dont ware make up so its very noticable.
Avatar m tn Did you injure your nose, or is it swollen perhaps because of allergies or congestion? I ask because the dark circle under you eye can be from trauma or can be from allergies. They are called allergic shiners. If the swelling is putting pressure inside your nose it can give you a headache and/or earache. What nasal spray did he give you? But to answer you question, yes your symptoms can be because of the swelling in your nose.
Avatar m tn ve been out all night living it up. Bags and dark circles that were not there before the cat surgery. The eye doc says I looked like this before but couldn't see it because I needed cat surgery. Not true, used to put makeup on w/magnifying mirror. They had taken a close-up picture when I first went in. When we looked at it - no bags or circles. The excuse now is that I wore glasses before and they covered up the bags and circles.
Avatar f tn What is the best thing for dark under eye circles? I've always had them. I can get 12 hours of sleep and still wake up with them. I also have crows feet and I'm only 26 years old. What can I use for the dark circles and wrinkles by my eyes?
Avatar f tn Thank you for your reply. I haven't had problems with sensitive skin around my eyes, but I do have allergies. My last episode was approximately 2 months ago and caused my eyes to itch and swell. I wear contacts about 25% of the time, and glasses 50% of the time. I have tried Olay, Roc, Avon, Clinique, Garnier, and other "miracle" products for under-eye circles, then I finally came to the conclusion that it's hyperpigmentation therefore those products won't help.
Avatar n tn I have suffered from white under eye circles for many years. I dont drink any alcohol or caffeine I dont smoke I eat healthy. I have never noticed anyone else with this issue so hopefully that means youve been out there but it isnt as noticable to others at it seems to us. I use blush to cover mine as it seems that makeup as some have stated would cake and draw more attention to it. I have had my throid checked blood work is good, slightly anemic but not bad.
