Common Questions and Answers about Allergies to white gold

allergies

Avatar n tn I don't have serious metal allergies, but my cousins do. I didn't know that white gold had nickel alloy in it. That's good to know. I am sensitive to the cheap ear wires, which are nickel. If I make or find earrings that I really like, I switch out the ear wires to sterling silver. My friends know I make jewelry, so they will often ask me to switch ear wires for them, too. I have the tools and the ability, and it's not difficult.
Avatar m tn t as strong as the base metals but because its softer, are regarded to adapt better to the margins of your teeth. Also because gold is yellow, it doesn't have a grey-ish appearance and are generally more cosmetic. Because the gold is softer, there is a possibility for higher fracture of the porcelain on top. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn ive never had any allergies before (im only allergic to nickle). do i need to see a doctor? theres no white stuff or bad breath or anything, just sore and swollen.
Avatar f tn My grandmother was allergic to some jewelry -- gold, I think -- and her wedding ring had to be platinum to avoid rashes. I never saw the rash, so don't know what it looked like. She could also have been allergic to whatever the gold was mixed with to make it hard, and in those days (half a century ago) I don't think the dermatological testing was that precise. Just a thought. (PS she lived in the woodsy part of the country, so who knows, maybe she had Lyme! Dunno.

Avatar f tn If the temp fixed the problem and the gold crown makes the problem, I would say that it seems to point to the crown. Try replacing the gold crown for an all porcelain crown with no metal and see how it goes.
1666434 tn?1325262350 you could be a great help to those you know who are getting reactions to jewlry....some poeple are allergic to titanium, some to silver, some gold....most commonly people are allergic to nickel....which represents 10% of the population who are allergic. A large number of people allergic to metals are allergic to multiple types of metal....so a reaction to just cheap jewelry probably indicates a nickel allergy. it is important to note that almost all things made of metal are alloys...
10021507 tn?1407285147 When they are babies you need to get real silver or gold just in case the end up having sensitive skin! They also have to be able to hold their heads up alone. I went to piercing place in the mall I can't remember the name of it but I know a lot of people use Claire's.
Avatar f tn I used to be allergic to lots of things until I discovered my food allergies. I can't eat gluten (Celiac), nuts, peanuts, and dairy is not good either. But I no longer have hay fever or allergies to roses since I stopped eating those foods. They don't really know the cause of pilonidal cysts, but they are not uncommon.
Avatar f tn Can being allergic to something make you more prone to developing more allergies?
Avatar n tn My wedding band is made of 14 karat white gold. I have an allergic reaction to it when I wear it on my left ring finger after wearing it for as little as 10 minutes. I get little white bumps that itch and burn and I get a rash. I haven't worn the ring on that finger in about 2 months but I can still see remnants of a rash. The strange part is that I have been wearing the same ring on my right hand ring finger and I get no rash. What is this??
427258 tn?1266445242 You should be very happy that he even wants to wear a band. he could have opted for gold and diamonds and not wear it to work. You could always get two bands. The titanium for when he works and a gold that matches yours that you would get married with and he could wear on special occasions when it wontget messed up. Really in his line of work titanium is really the best. Gold could result in a hospital trip and a ruined wedding band. (I used to manage Zales...
209987 tn?1451935465 I tend to agree, it sounds like a yeast infection in the ear, which will need sorting with medication from the vet, otherwise it will just get worse and worse and could result in your dog damaging their inner ear permenantly. Allergies are invariably difficult to identify, yet without finding out what your dog is allergic to it becomes pot-luck to try and prevent it from getting worse. You can have a patch test done, but this can be expensive (ask your vet about it).
Avatar n tn I have those color balloons and im going to have white chair covers to add some brightness the chair bows r royal blue and im doing royal blue table cloths. Im getting gold pplate, but what color should the plates cups and eating untensils b?
Avatar n tn i need to know if there is a way to remove the white dots on my penis... and yes it is called pearly papules and the pictures on google looks exactly the same.
Avatar f tn I agree with Dr. Cheng that foot licking is often a symptom of allergies in dogs. The allergy can be to food, or to environmental allergens such as pollen, grass or dust. Additionally, secondary bacterial or yeast infections often develop between the toes, causing the itching and licking to worsen, so evaluation by a veterinarian for miscroscopic analysis of the inflamed feet is needed to evaluate if antibiotics are needed.

Avatar m tn However, one thing I am worried about is my metal allergies. I am allergic to nickel, gold and cobalt. What are the needles used in the FNA shots made out of? Are they stainless steel similar to those used in shots? Please help!
Avatar f tn t diagnose these as food allergies. It is important to investigate food sensitivities before you develop new or worse symptoms. In this video here, you will see why it's important to discover and get food intolerances or sensitivities under control: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cv5RwxYW8yA It explains what other problems can stem from not doing this. Gluten is one of the top food intolerances that leads to other food sensitivities.
Avatar f tn My husband's band is black ceramic and absolutely gorgeous - mine is white gold and diamonds which matches my engagement ring perfectly. I wanted him to have something that matched his style, wasn't too flashy but solid and durable. Mine is delicate, feminine, and low-profile so I can wear it even at work. They were given at the same wonderful ceremony - that's all the "match" I need.
Avatar m tn so you mean no more tests are needed after the finger tip home test ( colloidal gold test)? is it accurate to be negative with that test on day 90? or the lab test i made at the hospital on day 77 hiv antibody test is more accurate?
Avatar f tn The oral surgeon suggests an implant, as I have a gold crown and it is a shame to lose that expense. Also, he says that an implant will cause no future disintegration (my word) of the jaw bone - whereas a bridge can result in some loss of jaw bone. I am vacillating between the two - but am needing to decide. Any advice?
266539 tn?1281402152 Platinum is extraordinarily expensive, so that's probably not an issue, but what about white gold? Actual white gold, that you don't have to replate twice a year? Silver is another option but silver is soft and you'd have to get quite a wide band to wear it everyday. I really feel like Rodium won't be around in another 10 years.
Avatar f tn And some people dont know and think its just bad milk but when you pump its not always going to be white. I have had pink, blue, and green. I saw gold the other day. So don't be surprised by it.
1757401 tn?1312688480 That allergy seems to go along with allergies to chemicals (fruit acids) found in some face creams. The itching is miserable.
