Allegra dosing in children

Common Questions and Answers about Allegra dosing in children

allegra

Avatar m tn Allegra doesn't cause hypothyroidism. I myself take it and have for a while. In fact Allegra is the only allergy medication that I can take.
15695260 tn?1549593113 The research followed participants for 15 years and tested children when they were very young. They believe this will help delay or prevent diabetes in those predisposed to develop it. https://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=170637 Would you test your kids to find out if they are at high risk of developing Type 1 Diabetes?
Avatar m tn In the first place Zyrtec tends to make you drowsy and Allegra tends to perk you up. It would be pretty weird to take them together. I take Zyrtec daily and when my allergies act up I take a single dose of Benadryl which is short-acting. that works well for me.
Avatar f tn I have quit Paxil cold-turkey 7 days ago. I read in a forum about using Allegra (an allergy med) to help the side effects. I have found that the Allegra really helps with the Zaps that occur. My problem is I don't want to take one in the afternoon, evening because they will keep me awake all night! Anybody got any night time ideas. I will not take another Paxil - I will put up with whatever licks I have to take. Any idea how long withdrawl symptoms will pop up. Do I have them all now?
Avatar m tn Both Allegra and Zyrtec are 24 hour medications in my area. I have known several people who took 3 Zyrtec in one day, and my allergist says that you can't really OD on antihistimines. You should be sure to drink PLENTY of water and watch for signs of constipation and dehydration. You should make sure that your dr is well aware of how much of these meds you are taking to make sure that they are ok with any other medications you maybe taking.
Avatar f tn I have just started takeing care of my mother in law who is in stage 4 breast cancer and her dr gave her Morphine SO4 IR 15mg one tablet every 3 hours and Morphine SO4 ER 30ENDO one tablet every 12 hours and I am confused on how to give them to her, she says I can give them to her at the same time and I am worried about it causing an overdose and I am having a hard time reaching her dr for instruction on how to give it to her, do i give her one first and then wait a few hours to give the other
Avatar f tn Hi! Congratulations! If you were my patient, I would advise you to take the absolute minimum medication that you can get away with during the first trimester especially. BUT having said that, Allegra is pregnancy category C which means that it CAN be used in pregnancy if the benefits out weigh the risks. Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn Loratadine is considered a placebo by many doctors (and many patients that I have talked to). Zyrtec and Allegra are good choices. Since Allegra just came OTC, it will be much more expensive the Zyrtec generic. I take Zyrtec. Take care and feel better. God bless.
Avatar m tn Something alarming happened today. I took two allergy pills around 10:00pm. Around 12 pm I had a baowel movement. The stool looked... fluffy. Not diareah (-sp?) like, but spongy. There were two white things floating. When I looked closer I realized they were the allergy pills I took. It was Allegra D. Could this be the reason they haven't been working like they used to? I mean, they hardly looked like the outer coating was gone. Should I go to the doctor? Be alarmed? That was kinda freaky.
Avatar n tn I know the prednisone is awful, but when the body is reacting so, it is often the only thing that helps. You might try dosing his prednisone first thing in the morning so the effects can burn off before he tries to sleep. I don't imagine that's going well either! I raised a son with severe asthma as a little guy. I remember one hosptialization, the resp. therapist called albuterol "frog juice," Truth. We also read a lot of stories while he took his nebulizer tx.
Avatar f tn I would sit tight till they open. These are such new drugs and only your Dr can give you the green light. You don't want to risk SVR unless you know for sure. .....
1402935 tn?1281958699 I tried just general Benadryl and had the same reaction. Red face hard to breath through the nose. I was recently prescribed Allegra and am nervous to take it as it looks like it has a lot of the same medication as benadryl but stronger. Are these medications the same? Avatar f tn I was OK to take Allegra. Ask your Dr. But I know Allegra is safe as well as benadril. And claritain. When in doubt ask a Dr.

Avatar m tn Now coming to your question, 35% of patients get totally free of the symptoms in one year. In other 30% symptoms will reduce. Rest of the pateints it continues. But you need to take necessary precautions. I suggest you to consult to a skin specialist/ immunologist for further steps of management. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn I would like to know what would be a good allergy medicine that can be taken with risperdal. I have given my son benadryal in the past and he would become calm but since the risperdal he gets very hyper and stays up all night. My son has seasonal allergies. I have given him claritin and it does not work. Thank you for any advice you can give.
Avatar n tn I'd be interested to know what input you get about this. I have been having what seem to be allergy episodes -- nasal congestion, watery eyes, clear mucous -- for a day or 2, then it's gone. I don't use decongestants as I have a history of Afib, pac's & pat. My first episode, I woke up with Afib and ending up needing to be electro-converted. I am abut ready to see an allergist, as I can't identify a trigger. Is the omeprazole a proton pump inhibitor for reflux?
Avatar f tn Benadryl is safe.
Avatar f tn I have really bad allergies and can usually get away with just Zyrtec but this year they are way worse and my doc told me to switch it up and try Claritin or Allegra the Allegra seems to work the best when I also take a sudafed but don't take the combo one just plan Allegra and plain sudafed.
Avatar n tn You and Dakotawinks are in the same situation as me! I have had this "yuck" in the throat for sooooooo long! The doctors don't know what to do. Of course, antibiotics are out! (Sigh), It is really difficult to cough all the time and not be able to talk--especially when you have to hang on to your job! Are you as exhausted as I am? By the way, I have taken allergy shots for quite awhile, and I am also taking allergy meds.daily.
Avatar n tn Stinging insects, Aeroallergens (uncommon), Foods and additives like Milk, egg, peanuts, nuts, soy, and wheat are the most common agents to cause such dermatitis and allergies in children. This triggering factor should be identified and should be avoided. Treatment includes anti histaminic and glucocorticoids against prescription. I suggest you to consult pediatrician for further investigations. Take care and regards.
2078979 tn?1332206668 My doctor told me that zyrtec and claritin are ok but not allegra. If you perfer natural remedies, chamomile tea, vapor rub, hot chicken broth with a little cheyenne, lots of fruits and veggies-especially vitamin c. Netti pots work great for sinus problems, just make sure to use distilled water.
Avatar f tn I use zyertec and benadryl. My doctor has said they are both safe. Check with your doctor they should have an approved list of meds you can take.
Avatar f tn I did have Mono in 1989. The reason for the EBV tests was because of my complaint of fatigue. I was told the EBV Early Antigen AB, IgG test was ok even though it was flagged as "High" because of the mono infection I had back in the late 80s. Is this correct?
