Common Questions and Answers about Side effects of allegra in children

allegra

Avatar m tn I am in week 4 of the Olysio/Sovaldi combo therapy and am disappointed at the side effects I'm experiencing. Prior to starting the treatment I was very encouraged by what I was finding on the boards, especially after two bad experiences with interferon treatment and an allergic reaction to ribavirin. Unfortunately I am experiencing maddening itching which I'm controlling with Allegra and extreme fatigue and an all around foggy feeling.
Avatar m tn I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
Avatar n tn His teacher and myself (my son too) have noticed a postitive change in his work output at school and during homework sessions. Two of the side effects are of great concern to me. My son can't sleep until well after 10:30 pm. (we are trying Melatonin, but haven't found the right dosage). The other side effect that is most troubling is the loss of appetite. When we went to see his specialist, 6 days ago, he'd lost 4.5 lbs (in 40 days).
1402935 tn?1281958699 It will reduce the inflammation and thin the mucus, with no side effects. The first couple of days take 1000 mg. For me it works like a charm. In fact I had been on those dangerous inhaled steroids (like symbocort) and the B5 worked much, much better.
Avatar f tn I read in a forum about using Allegra (an allergy med) to help the side effects. I have found that the Allegra really helps with the Zaps that occur. My problem is I don't want to take one in the afternoon, evening because they will keep me awake all night! Anybody got any night time ideas. I will not take another Paxil - I will put up with whatever licks I have to take. Any idea how long withdrawl symptoms will pop up. Do I have them all now?
1528897 tn?1291833568 You could try different types of allergy medications. Nasal sprays are very effective with few, if any, side effects. Nasal steroids are the most common. There are also nasal antihistamines. You can also purchase an OTC mast cell stabilizer, NasalCrom. It is very effective. Lastly, if nasal drainage is the problem you can try atrovent. Have you tried a variety of oral antihistamines. Zyrtec has very few side effects.
180992 tn?1383374057 no side effects to speak of. Nothing like the side effects of interferon (3 prior failed attempts). UND at week 4 blood draw....and my first time to go UND. Never reached it on the 3 previous attempts.
Avatar f tn He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
Avatar m tn In the first place Zyrtec tends to make you drowsy and Allegra tends to perk you up. It would be pretty weird to take them together. I take Zyrtec daily and when my allergies act up I take a single dose of Benadryl which is short-acting. that works well for me.
Avatar f tn So, I think you should try to get to the bottom of your hives problem by investigating the side effects of the meds you are taking or see your doctor about other possibilities. If you wait for the antibodies to go away, you'll be suffering for a long time.
Avatar m tn These dangerous complications occurred when Seldane was taken in combination with erythromycin or ketoconozole, causing Seldane to build up in the blood and resulting in serious cardiac side effects. Hoechst Marion Roussel and Baker Norton Pharmaceuticals, the manufacturer of the Seldane, have voluntarily discontinued the distribution and marketing of all terfenadine-containing antihistamine product lines in the United States.
Avatar n tn I belong to a support group for teachers and parents of children suffering from anxiety. Many of the children take medication - including Celexa. About four children in our group are on this medication (all in conjuction with intervention and/or therapy). For these children, this "drug" seems to work the best with the fewest side effects. Our child takes Celexa - before that Prozac and Effexor. Celexa is the best one for her - so far.
Avatar n tn I used 200 milligrams a day of doxycycline for about five years to treat acne but finally stopped a couple of weeks ago, my opthm wants me to continue to use it but I've quit because of side effects, particularly the severe dryness throughout my body.
Avatar n tn 05%) and was told to take a Zyrtec at night and a allegra in the morning., This did not help, the hair on the right side of my head all fell out! so did the hair on my private part. I also have a breakout all over both my foreams, I have tried every natural oil there is, I found this product called Emuaidmax, I tried it and it stop the itching and I use marula oil on my arms everyday and they started to heal. I am still using both of these products.
Avatar m tn Avoid OTC antiallergy medication in young children as it can have side effects and also impair their immune system. Do take him to his doctor if his symptoms continue for another week. Do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Oh, I forgot to mention, my EP wants to switch me to Amiodarone and I am really resistant because of the side effects. I'm currently on Sotalol because my primary problem is Vtach and Amiodarone is indicated because it controls both Afib and Vfib. I too have had problems with chronic bronchitis and occassional wheezing but I'm more concerned about the great number of other side effects! There is a current study on something called ATI-2042 but it is only in early trials.
Avatar m tn m not sure if Zofran is used in children but you could ask. Tetrabenzene is used but that has some serious side effects so that might not be for children either. But there are other medications as well. Clonidine in patch form (Catapres) is especially helpful for tic like motions (tardive tourreticism which is a variant of tardive dyskinesia I have as well). I am on Tenex which is helpful as well. I believe both of those are used in children.
1367899 tn?1278121440 My sister and I started a blog on Adderall to learn more about the medication along with alternative and complementary ADHD treatment options. 454366 tn?1211245301 Litium did give me a hyperactive thyroid condition. The med I was given for that has a side effect of osteoporosis in the lumbar in long term use (Synthroid). I ended up with litium toxicity a few years back because diuretics will cause that. As you know caffine is a diuretic (soft drinks) - which most kiddo's I know tend to drink. I would not allow litium to be given to my child; not going through what I have with it. I have a son who is ADHD.
Avatar f tn 1) Side effects of long use of medicines? I have heard of lever damage? How long will medications continue? Does changing medications every few months help? 2) Hate to exercise. Can walk though - is it helpful? How much to walk daily? 3) Easy to implement tips to reduce BP? 4) Will BP reduce lifespan or hinder me?
Avatar f tn It was then that I researched the side effects of my prescribed drugs and determined that I should stop taking the Singulair. My doctor prescribed a replacement for Singulair, and within a month the numbness went away. Over the past few months I have tried to get back into running. I used to run frequently, always training for a 5k, 10k, or half-marathon, so not sprinting. I have never had a problem with my heart rate or my blood pressure, but now I do.
Avatar m tn Those side effects are not true, don't worry about what they have said. Masturbation is perfectly normal, and everybody masturbates, it's normal to feel confused about it, but it's perfectly harmless. Generally people don't like to talk about it, so it leads to people getting the wrong impression and maybe even feeling guilty.
Avatar f tn Try taking home remidies like plain water steam, twice a day, it gives awesome results for cold, cough and watery eyes. This is free from any side effects. I do this all the time.
