Avatar f tn I do and its healthy for you. If your body is accustomed to lifting moderate to heavy weights I would continue until you get farther along. I just hit 18 weeks and I'm still lifting moderately-heavy. My doc says go with how your body feels. I'm sure by third trimester the weights will have to lower but you r so early on! When in doubt ask your doc!
Avatar f tn So I am trying to start walking more. The last three years I have been lifting weights with a trainer 3-4 times a week. I am also vegan for the last 3 years. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn I used to lift lots of weights in the gym and had a similar injury when I was 28. I was silly and ignored it, and kept lifting weights. I ended up having a severe herniation and had surgery in March 2007 and July 2008 at the L4/L5 level. Now, at age 34, I'm grateful that I'm relatively pain free and can sit/walk for more than 10 minutes without being in pain. I often wonder how things would have turned out if I had stopped lifting weights for a few months and let my back heal.
Avatar m tn This all started while I was in Denmark lifting weights while abroad. I was lifting really heavy and it got progressively worse over time. I also have tingling in my face sometimes but I have sinus issues and also fractured my c2 years ago which healed but is slightly irregular.I took 4 months off of lifting and the numbness got a little better but once I started lifting again it got worse again.
Avatar n tn I know that lifting weights can cause shakiness with muscle weakness. I know when I go bowling, my arm can shake a lot time sometimes overnight. Cut back on caffeine if you drink a lot of caffeine. Make sure that you are getting enough vitamin B's in your diet.
Avatar m tn Do your mean lifting weights as in weight lifting the sport, or lifting weights as in bodybuilding, I cant think of a reason that bodybuilding should stunt your growth, but that you may just a small build, in that case you may find it hard to build your weight up, and weight lifting could stop you growing by the amount of weights that you lift over your head.
Avatar m tn My biggest concern is having something like MS or ALS. In a nutshell, had a virus for a week in mid October, then woke up 7 days into the cold with burning in the back of my head and neck, along with a weak/heavy feeling in my thigh muscles. Also my right had has felt kind of week but I'm not sure if that is from lifting weights or not.
Avatar f tn Tiludronate (Skelid) and Alendronate (Fosamax) -- Magnesium may interfere with absorption of medications used in osteoporosis, including alendronate (Fosamax). Magnesium or antacids containing magnesium should be taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking these medications.
Avatar m tn My cardiologist told me to stop lifting heavy weights but i can still lift lightly. It kills me to stop lifting, for once in my life i feel great and look pretty healthy. I guess my question is if l still lift weights what is lifting light? how do i know what is over doing it? Should i do light weight more reps. I would still like to achieve and maintain a good physique without causing more harm than i already have.
Avatar f tn It should be fine.
20855321 tn?1540599289 I'm 41 around 185 pounds and a few weeks ago i was lifting weights (a few weeks in or so) and while i was i heard a pop in my head and i immediately stopped and i started getting a headache. I continued to have minor pressure for a week or so but then slowly went away. It's been a few weeks or so now and i was wondering what happened? And will it be safe for me now to continue to lift weights and exercise again now?
Avatar n tn Yeah it usually happens the next day. But if its just from sore muscles you will know it. Im sure you've had sore muscles in the past from lifting weights, it really has a specific feel to it. It is as you know im sure muscle type aches, usually in the areas you worked out. If something is a really sharp unrelenting pain, that can usually be a sign that you may have injured something and need to see an md.

1454009 tn?1285191093 I've been lifting for the last 3 months and I've noticed the higher weights I get into, I get a sharp pain into my right wrist once I release the weights. the pain is on the top and bottom of the left side of my wrist. I have this problem whenever i put any stress on it like barbell curls and preacher curls. I used to get the pain farther up right around the middle of the forearm but now it has moved to the wrist area.
Avatar m tn After the tug-o-war, I noticed that it almost felt like my pecs were constantly pressing on my nerves under my arm, near my armpit, causing a shooting, burning, tingling pain down my arms. The only thing that I noticed that helped it was if I stopped lifting weights. Recently, I tried to start lifting again, which I love to do and the pain is back. The lifting seems to irritate the nerve. Is there any surgery that can fix this so I continue lifting weights?
