Avatar f tn I took my first dose of Alendronate and then experience significant muscle pain for the next 4 days. Does anyone know if I should expect this to happen each time I take it or is it something to happen for the first few times until my body adjusts to the medicine?

Avatar m tn The authors examined the effects of high-dose oral alendronate (40 mg daily) for 6 months on 3 adult patients with intractable headache due to fibrous dysplasia of the skull. Each patient had disease processes not amenable to surgery. The patients underwent clinical follow-up at 1, 3, and 6 months. Their pain levels were documented at each visit by using a visual analog scale. All 3 patients demonstrated a significant decrease in pain levels and became independent of scheduled analgesics.

Avatar f tn Osteoporosis medications like Raloxifene (Evista), alendronate (Fosomax), risendronate (Actonel) and ibandronate (Boniva) all can cause flu like symptoms in individuals that are taking them. I am not sure what medications you are on, but this could be your problem.

Avatar f tn Alright, I have tried everything that has been advised to me for constipation. I am 9 weeks, 2 days along. Even pre-pregnancy, I am a health freak and do eat fresh fruits and veggies everyday as well as fruit and nut bars. I have tried apple juice, prune juice, and normally coffee gets me to go but I am at the point now to where I am giving into OTC stuff. I found some stool softener in the cabinet, it's the Equate brand of Colace -- it has Docusate sodium (50mg) and Sennosides (8.6mg).

Avatar m tn After reading a couple of articles about the sodium ascorbate I think it is worth a try.A person need 20gm per day for 10 days.Vitamin C is cheap and comes in 1gm tablets. One would have to take 20 in 24 hours. That would be 4 tablets 5 times a day for 10 days.I have always said that during detox if a person feels compelled to take a tablet because they are used to taking tablets for everything,'take a couple vitamins c 1000mg.
Avatar f tn Yes low sodium levels can be dangerous, have you tried drinking some sport drinks? http://www.diagnose-me.com/cond/C549291.
Avatar f tn I am 22 weeks pregnant and type 2 diabetic so I am very cautious about what I put into my body. Tonight I ate turkey sausage and after realized in the ingredients it contains sodium nitrite (2% or less) I have heard nitrites are a big no no during pregnancy and i am freaking out! Will everything with baby be okay? What are the concerns with nitrites? Birth defects? Misscariage? Or am I just over reacting and will be okay as long as it is in moderation and not a everyday thing?! Please help!!
Avatar m tn I am a 68 year old female. I have sodium of 132. It has fluctuated between 132 and 136 for the last 8 years. Is this a problem. I was taking 100 mg of atenolol when it went to 132. My doctor changed me to 50 mg a day since my b/p is much better now. Did this affect my sodium or do I just need to eat more salt?
Avatar n tn Has any one else been placed on a low sodium diet by their baby doctor? I was told I have high blood pressure and just as a caution I should go on a low sodium diet. So I've been Googling recipes and things but I'm not finding to many. Does any one has some advice about the diet or some amazing recipes? That would be amazing!!
Avatar f tn I am on a 2000 mgs sodium diet. I am having a hard time finding low sodium foods like corn muffin mix, taco seasoning etc. I was wondering if anyone had found a place to but such things.
Avatar f tn Almost all levels were normal except for sodium, triglycerides, and VLDL; all of which were mildly low. Specifically, the levels were: Sodium: 133 mmol/L (normal range 134-145) Triglycerides: 45mg/dl (normal range 50-150) VLDL: 9 mg/dl (normal range 10-31) I am concerned mostly about my sodium level. I have read that low sodium level can be caused by a thyroid issue, but my TSH came back at 1.37ulU/ml (normal range 0.40-4.00).
