Aldara yeast infection

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara yeast infection

aldara

Avatar f tn A couple of weeks later I thought I had a yeast infection so I went back to the same urgent care and asked to be tested for a yeast infection or a bacterial infection since I was having some more issues. I had a different doctor this time. While she was down there I asked to look at the bumps on the insides of my butt cheeks also. I told her I thought they might be skin tags. She said, "They do look like skin tags but I think they're probably warts." She was an acupuncturist.
Avatar n tn Hello, I have had a yeast infection on and off for about three months. I went to my doctor three months ago and was prescribed medicine. One day after my appointment I noticed a few slightly raised bumps on the very inside of my vagina. After messing with them they became more raised, like skin tags. They have remained the same for 3 months (I haven't slept with anyone other than my boyfriend).
Avatar f tn Another possibility that I would want to rule out, if you were my patient, Is a yeast infection. A wet mount test can determine if it is yeast, which can then be treated appropriately. As for your second question, it certainly sounds like you may have hpv. An hpv test can be done, or a biopsy could be done to tell for sure. (A biopsy is not usually medically necessary though). Aldara might be a good option for treatment of what sounds like genital warts. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I went to the doctor, and they gave me Aldara for HPV. This was in January. Since then, I have had the worst yeast infections, and while one bump is slowly decreasing in size (and has hardened and turned quite red in the process), none of the others are changing size at all, and I am getting more tiny little white bumps within a few inches of the initial three bumps I had. I am pretty sure it is HPV, but it seems to be geting worse. I have been tested recently for HIV, and that was negative...
Avatar f tn He made an appointment with the doctor and the doctor said that this was a yeast infection. This was treated with lamasil. I am wondering if the aldara cream could have caused the yeast infection as well as how long does it take for lamisil to cure the yeast infection? he is in so much pain that intercourse is painful. Also wondering if a male yeast infection only effects the testicles of if it can spread to the shaft of the penis? your help is very much appreciated.
Avatar n tn No, I meant Aldara might be the whole explanation. I'm not surprised if Aldara is making it worse.
Avatar f tn I've been using the Aldara for about a week now and have started to have symptoms of a yeast infection for about the past day or so. I've had yeast infections before, so I feel like I can tell when I have one. ALSO - any connection between using the Aldara and yeast infection occurances? Thank you!
Avatar n tn Why can't I put a band-aid over the condyloma after putting on the Aldara? The Aldara inevitably seeps onto the very sensitive inside of my vagina causing redness and irritation. Would it be okay to put a band-aid on after using the cream? 6.
Avatar m tn No the cream won't help with HSV. Chances are this is a fungal infection. I am not sure if you can but maybe see a dermatolgoist for a better thought.
Avatar f tn Recently she just got the results back and it came back negative for all stds, however she did have a yeast infection. Now here's my question, can a guy get a yeast infection from a girl who has one, and if so can it sometimes be easily mistaken for Chlamydia. Also, is it at all possible for a yeast infection to cause a Chlamydia test to come up positive? If you could help out with some info that would be great, because this whole thing is totally confusing to me.
Avatar f tn I've been sexually active for six years and have never once had an STD of any type, not even a yeast infection. She prescribed me Aldara cream to be applied to the site 3x/weekly. She told me to wash with mild soap and water first, dry off then apply the cream. Well, I applied the cream 3 days in a row before reading in the pamphlet that it should be done on a M-W-F or T-TH-Sa type schedule.
Avatar f tn she confirms that it is severe burns from the Aldara on my labia and I also coincidentally have a yeast infection occurring at the same time. She gave me Difuclan for the yeast infection and Percocet to take to manage pain. My question: how long can I expect the extreme swelling/burning to last? The medication is helping with pain management, but I can't go to work this week like this, as I can barely move let alone use a public bathroom without being in physical agony.
Avatar m tn I asked her if she's ever had anything like this in the past and she said yes, she'd had a yeast infection in the past and it was like this, however she just moved states and doesn't have a doctor to get the medicine she'd used for the yeast infection in the past. In my freaking out, I asked her if she thought it was HSV and showed her WebMD articles, wiki articles, etc and she said no, just an itch, not to worry, but I unfortunately am less easy-going.
Avatar n tn 1. i recently got over a 2 month long yeast infection. during said yeast infection i had several cuts develop, the derm said they were just part of the rash. after i treated it these cuts disappeared completely. It has been a month since i have treated the yeast and one cut keeps coming back. in the last 6 weeks its opened up 4 or 5 times. the longest it stays open is 7 days.. the shortest is one. 2. i should mention i have hpv genital warts, and it always lines one wart.
Avatar n tn But if you mean the genital area itself (labia, vaginal area), the most common cause of burning is yeast infection--so your doc's suggestion to try one of the over-the-counter yeast creams (Monistat or others) may be reasonable. All treatments for warts work about 60% of the time; imiquimod (Aldara) is no better (but also no worse) than other treatments. When imiquimod works, it typically takes at least several treatments over 2 weeks or more.
Avatar f tn Now I have irration on the outside of my womanhood! It feels like a yeast infection but now having HPV I am more worried it's related to that. How can I tell the difference?! Also, when I apply Aldara can I not go to the bathroom. I am pregnant and I pee like crazy! Do I have to reapply it after I go to the bathroom?!
Avatar f tn i went to the doctor but the ulcers went down she swabbed inside of my vagina and it came bak neg, im so confused because shesaid somtimesa yeast infection can cause a rash on my inner thighfits a really bad yi and thats were it was at. im very confused and i get depressed somtimes. have anyone ben through the same thing using aldara and still get rashes about one month after? and they come and go help.
Avatar f tn me again, the itchiness is a lot like yeast infection itch, and i am prone to those, could it just be that i am currently having a yeast infection also?
Avatar n tn He did an STI test as well and Pap smear, but prescribed Aldara that day. He also thought it looked like I had a yeast infection, so he prescribed me something for that as well. I never found out the exact results from the STI test(he never told me if I was positive for HPV, which I know causes warts) and the Pap test came back mildly abnormal, which he said was likely from the yeast infection.
Avatar n tn I had a handfull of warts around the foreskin which the doc froze and prescribed aldara. Aldara eliminated some of the very small warts but there was no change to the bigger ones. Further, the aldara did not change my skin at all...no side effects either. I used apple cider vinegar which appeared to work initially, but the bigger warts are back. Further, I have now developed a wart (three months later) that is totally different then the others on my lower scrotum.
Avatar m tn As speculation, it seems possible that most of your symptoms--itching, irritation, swelling, discharge--could all be due to a yeast infection. Yeast won't cause wart-like bumps, though. If you really cannot get to a provider, you could try an over-the-counter yeast treatment. Look for a product for which the active ingrediate ends in "azole", like miconazole, butaconazole, and many others. But if things don't promtly and completely clear up, definitely see a provider.
Avatar n tn 1) Is it possible to contract HSV-II herpes in the mouth without visible lesions below the waist? How likely is this? 2) Could a yeast infection be the culprit causing the vaginal swelling and discomfort? 3) Does fordyce cause swelling or discomfort in the tongue? 4) How long does it take for herpes to begin blistering a cracking along the mouth? Thank you for your time and consideration.
Avatar n tn I have been tested for herpes using the herpselect test for both 1 and 2 and came back negative. Is there at all a possiblity that the test could be wrong. I have had one dry patch of skin on the under side of my penis that doesn't seem to go away and seems to worsen after intercoure or masterbation. My girlfriend also has a yeast infection and complains about some irritation after sex that she believes is caused by friction from the condom could this be the case and shoud I be tested again.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms suggest such things as fungal infection like tinea (jock itch), yeast, a skin infection called erythrasma, or any of several other things. It isn't herpes and it's not directly due to HPV. You need to stop trying self-diagnosis or looking for answers online and get a professional diagnosis. Presumably by now you have seen a health care provider about it. If not, or if s/he hasn't made a diagnosis, see somone else. A referral to a dermatologist would be a good idea.
Avatar n tn I did look online to see if it was a yeast infection, but I am certain it isn't because of the pictures I saw looking alot worse and different. But, I tried putting gold bond on it, thinking it was maybe a fungal growth like jock itch or something.
Avatar m tn Even after I take a shower it will come back a few hours later. I thought maybe she had a yeast infection or something and maybe I somehow got one, so I used some yeast infection cream, but it didnt help. Within the past two weeks, I have also noticed these very small, slightly raised, brown spots popping up along the base of my penis. Im guessing this and the odor are connected... I'm wondering if this is my herpes virus coming back or something else.
Avatar n tn Other than that, I haven't had ANY pain previously. I don't have a yeast infection either. It especially burns when I urinate after sex, I suppose the acid is affecting it. Is it possible I have a specific internal wart causing problems, or no? Are there any effective internal treatments that don't involve a doctors visit and acid bath?
Avatar n tn i was worried it might have been another wart and my sister had some aldara cream so i put some on for 3 time a week for one week. i experienced INTENSE itching in the region and now the skin is cut, blistered, and in several places it looks white, similar to the effects of the freezing off of the warts. my question is, are these areas that had warts underneath the skin? could the aldara have helped to resurface the warts?
Avatar n tn anyway, in june i went to gyno and noticed bumps, which she said were genital warts. i took aldara and some went away. she said they were at opening of vagina, called them kissing warts, anyway i purchased aldara again and now for past two weeks, they seem to be gone, yet am having extreme irritation from it-lots of redness and itching constantly. also, in past ive had little cuts towards bottom of vagina, near opening- just above anus.
Avatar m tn Fungal infections of the human body are very common, and are often quite bothersome. One such example is a condition known as tinea versicolor, a superficial yeast infection that produces white spots on the skin that are difficult to remove. You should talk to your doctor and rule out the above causes. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
