Aldara treatment plantar warts

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara treatment plantar warts

aldara

Avatar n tn Some treatment options are liquid nitrogen (used best by a dermatologist -vs- a regular doctor in the treatment of warts and every 2 to 3 weeks, if a treatment is missed some treated wart may grow back if a treatment is missed) DNCB is also an effective treatment for stubborn warts, as well as verrusol, and others. Surgery should be a last resort option.
Avatar n tn but that is the most effective process i have seen for a resistant wart. aldara seldom cures stubborn plantar warts and the acid is not much better. as for shots, that gets expensive and is debateable too. there are not any homeopathic remidies to a wart that has resisted conventional medicine as i know it.
Avatar n tn So my doctor was about to cut them off, when I brought up the Candida antigen which is injected into common warts, plantar warts, etc as intralesional immunotherapy. She thought it was a great idea and we should try it. The injection was yesterday and by the end of the day yesterday the large warts were physically smaller, the smaller ones were disappearing. I'm shocked at how quickly results seem to be occurring.
Avatar n tn If the wart refuses to respond and causes pain when walking, then surgery seems reasonable to consider, even though this is not often necessary for plantar warts. I advise you to get an opinion on this matter from a surgically-oriented podiatrist. Many use laser or scalpel surgery to remove such warts. (The material would be tested as well when it's removed.

359937 tn?1220987451 Warts usually don't cause any symptoms and do not require treatment, although plantar warts may be painful. The treatments available are freezing of warts to destroy the virus (which he has already undergone). Cantharidin is another treatment that can help to treat warts. It is similar to freezing in that it destroys the skin around the wart, but it is less painful when it is applied. It may hurt a little once the blister forms though.
Avatar m tn (we've never had anal sex). 4. She was prescribed aldara, is this an effective treatment? Should she consider getting the vaccine?
Avatar m tn When the wart re-appeared, it was smaller in size and I continued to use Aldara to clear it. Also, I’ve had plantar warts on my hands and feet since I was little. About 5 months ago I observed some white, small, very flat, cluster bubble like formations on the skin of the head of my penis that looked similar to the other warts I previously had hence, I believe this may be HPV related. I’ve considered talking to a dermatologist however, desperation and frustration are taking over me.
Avatar n tn and my advice about when one can stop telling a definitely can't consider yourself cured just because the warts have responded to treatment; you need to wait a few months to assure that warts don't recur. Redness and irritation go along with all wart treatments but especially with Aldara. Aldara should be used 2-3 times after the wart appears to be gone, then you can stop; the redness and soreness should then clear up over the next 1-2 weeks.
470214 tn?1207689964 HPV is a Virus that causes genital and cervical warts. HPV is not the same virus that affects the feet ( also called plantar warts. Your symptoms need further testing . Avatar n tn I haven't developed obvious warts, but I do show many small red lesions on the meatus, glans penis, shaft, and at the base along the pelvis. Generally, of the two home treatment options, Podofilox and Aldara, which is more effective for dealing with small lesions? I've been using a mild 2% salicylic acid based astringent thus far as a temporary measure, as it's all I have on hand at the moment, and I am thankful this has apparently halted the proliferation of new lesions.
Avatar m tn Pathological conditions of HPV infection depends on the type of viral strains which are divided into High risk strains-16, 18, 31, 45 (genital cancers),High risk groups in cases of warts-6, 11, 42, 44 (ano genital warts-condyloma accuminata),moderate risk strains for simple warts-2, 7,Plantar warts-1, 2, 4, 63 (condyloma),Flat warts-3, 10, 8(papilloma) and so on. The risk of transmission from one person to another depends on which type of strain being the culprit.
Avatar f tn I'm about to start treatment with prescription cream for the warts (which itch horribly) and I'm getting back on the Nuvoring. Hopefully the hormones will help too.
