aldara

Avatar n tn hello all.....i have been dx by MD with GW.been on aldara cream for around 2 weeks app 5 applications per RX..it seems that i have more warts coming up and the ones i had frozen 2 weeks ago are coming back also( around the scar from freezing )...is this normal ? how long does the cream take to become effective ? will it prevent more from coming in such a short time or does it take longer......thanks any help would be appreciated....
Avatar n tn But when i look down at a certain angle i can see them. My dr. gave me a RX for Aldara anyway but i am reluctant to use it since i am trying to conceive soon. Should i try apple cider vinegar instead to treat? Or how long after Aldara use before i should wait to conceive.
Avatar f tn The OBGYN who diagnosed me with GW wasn't very thorough so I switched to a new MD and had 8 months of weekly in office TCA treatments with little to no change in the size or the amount of warts. The treatment was very painful and ineffective so the DR. sent me home with an RX for Aldara because she was out of options. I'm not sure how effective the Aldara was since I still have some of the original lesions from 4 years ago.
Avatar n tn Once I reach the dry stage I will soak in the bath and rub them gently with a wash cloth in hopes to speed up the process. Last time I had warts my doctor gave me an RX for Aldara and that did work, it took about a week and a half and caused the warts to become smoother and smoother until they were flat and then nothing but a reddish spot and then gone.
Avatar f tn I did one a week for four weeks and now I am about to start Aldara tomorrow but I have my period so I might delay til it is over. I have to figure out if I can do it while on my period or not. Regardless of that my doc told me to wait a week after the last acid treatment before starting the rx. So that might be the same with you. I am a bit worred about what the new treatment will do as well but I would rather have a bit of pain than warts!!!
Avatar n tn It went from 4 or 5, to by my new doctor's count, more than 20. So we tried cryotherapy and a Rx of Aldara. Cryo seemed to work okay-ish on the two or three warts near my penis, destroying most of each wart (leaving a bit behind that was was further frozen the other day). The cryo and two weeks of Aldara saw pretty much zero progress on any of the perianal warts.
Avatar n tn Thank you Kevin. I obtained some imiquimod (aldara) as an rx from my dr. I know it is not intended to be used internally, but I've read some reports that indicate it is helpful (just hasn't been "proven" in studies but say there is no harm in doing this). Can you comment on this please?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with genital warts 3 years ago. my doctor prescribed Aldara cream, which I bought and used, however it did nothing. She referred me to a specialist, but we just haven't had the money for me to follow through on that, so the warts have just gotten worse and worse and my self esteem is shattered. I found an online add for Dermisil and it all SOUNDS encouraging, but if it's so good, why wouldn't my doctor have suggested it over invasive chances like laser surgery etc?

Avatar n tn Lab results HPV, but higher risk HPV 16. He is giving me Rx for Aldara to apply to the area to just to make sure. I am going to tell my current partner to get a pap test since its higher risk. I am just shocked its an issue 7 years later, I am not sure its a new infection. I am concerned its higher risk and I am concerned what this means overall.
Avatar m tn It would seem odd to jump directly to this outcome but through the process of elimination from test results and attempted Rx I've come to those two possibilities; I'm always open for other options. My GP, Neurologist, Infestious Disease docs are clueless as to what could be the root cause of my headaches & cognitive dysfunction.
Avatar n tn At the same time we are feeling the pain and discomfort, we tighten our pelvic muscles without knowing it, decreasing the blood supply (slowing healing), applying pressure to the peudenal nerve which causes more pain. Aldara is a no-no. Check out Dr. Glazers website. It has a lot of information about vulvodynia. http://www.vulvodynia.
Avatar f tn Then I had the first big wart still when I started Aldara and got one new one the first week between acid and the rx. I have been doing Aldara for about 5 weeks and have not had any new warts and little change to the two I have. I have had warts for at least 3.5 months that I know of. My exposure was 6.5 months ago so it took me 3 months to find my symptoms and become aware I have HPV's. I have both high and low risk strains from this and mild cell changes on my cervix. 5.
Avatar n tn The NP did, again, perform a visual inspection, but that was it. She gave me a rx for Aldara which I used for several weeks (up to the max recommended time) with no change except pain and redness, a little bleeding. Recently, my boyfriend was having some bowel trouble, and just to see what I could find I was googling possible causes and wound up coming across some pages and pictures of anal skin tags- and that's really what my condition looks like.
Avatar f tn My family doctor said they could be warts but to see a gyno to confirm (they were very small). She gave me aldara in the mean time so I used it and the bumps were gone within about 5 days. By the time I got to the gyno two months later she said there was nothing to be seen that look like warts. She has reassured me about 4 times since then that there aren't any, but the last time I went in two weeks ago I was positive something is up.
Avatar n tn My last one showed me as having VIN2 which my oncologist/gyno wanted me to use ALDARA Cream for 3 months, I tried it but i couldnt function with all the side effects, So after much reading as much as i could find on HPV and VIN i started taking the supplement DIM, thought it was helping some but now I have the burning back again and am afraid I will have to go in and have another biopsy again. I hate this. How come so many of us never heard of this before.
