Aldara recall

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara recall

Avatar n tn A few months later the warts came back and I revisited the clinic and they were frozen once again, but this time I was given 'Aldara' cream to apply three times a week on the warts. I have visited the GUM clinic around four or five times since and been given the freezing treatment followed by Aldara cream and although every time I had the full STI testing this was found to be the only virus I had (or had symptoms for).
Avatar n tn Not that I know of. 6: I don't think you need to be concerned. 7: No statistics I know of. He'll just have to get past the concern if he can. 8: I don't know. 9: I don't know of any connection with sun. I think you're better off taking care in the sun and having a doctor keep an eye on your moles. Take care. Dr.
Avatar n tn My doctor gave me a few samples of Aldara which I have been using. He couldn't determine wheather the warts were HPV or Moluscum (-because of the location of the original warts.) The Aldara causes NO side effects, I do not feel any discofort at ALL. I have been applying it regularly every other day. I can't tell if its working yet nor can I tell if these are warts are regular part of the anotomy.
Avatar m tn Hello everyone, I was diagnosed with having molluscum contagiosum in the pubic region, and was prescribed Aldara by the doctor. At about the same time, I had an inflammation at the base of my penis, which the doctor said was folliculitis (I could also see the inflammation happening beneath a pubic hair). As I began applying Aldara, the inflammation/swelling at the area of folliculitis started to spread.
Avatar f tn I saw a Nurse Practitioner who used to work for a dermatologist who said they were nothing and not to use the Aldara cream the pp gave me. Last week I went to PP again to make sure my infection went away and I asked THAT nurse and she said she thought they could be warts. I am sooooo freakin confused. So I called my ob/gyn that I used to go to before I lost my insurance. I spoke to the physician assistant and she said if I have the cream to use it. If they go away, then we know they were warts.
Avatar n tn So she gave me put on every other day. I've put it on 5 times...and nothing has happened. There is no change in the bump at all. I'm calling another doctor to get a second opinion...but I would just like some thoughts and/or opinions on this nightmare.
Avatar n tn I have been using Aldara (Imiquimod 5%) cream to treat genital warts for 10 weeks and I still have warts. How long does it usually take to treat warts and what should I notice if I am getting better? I am suppose to be finished the treatment in 2 weeks. Should all the warts be gone by the time I finish treatment?
Avatar n tn You may recall I am a 34 year old male that received unprotected oral sex and gave unprotected cunnilingus to a female. It have been confirmed that she has hepatitis and I am very concerned over her HIV status as well. At the time of exposure, roughly 3 1/2 weeks ago, I had just finished a cyce of aldara cream for HPV. The skin on my penis was slightly sensitive/irratated,could this increase my exposure?
Avatar n tn November 2003: boyfriend complains of painful scrotum. He's diagnosed with prostatitis. Januray 2004: I begin to feel what I can only descibe as "irritated" in my vaginal area. Doctor prescribes me some cream. No effect. February 2004 - June 2004: irritation continues, with tip of vagina looking red. Pain comes and goes. Doctor continues to prescribe creams and antibiotics. July 2004: boyfriend confesses and we get tested for all STD's (minus herpes). All negative.
Avatar n tn I ve suffered from ingrowns for as long as I can recall. So I did a self-examine of my genital area and found several other lesions mostly smaller and lighter in color, much like the bigger lesion initailly appeared. OB/GYN biospied the larger area & it was negative for condyloma. So she continues to freeze off the rest. 2 docs and 2 PAs have viewed them. No one can explain what they are. Aldara did not work. Once frozen off they do not re-appear in the same site.
Avatar m tn For example, you could speak to your doctor about podophyllin, podofilox (Condylox is the most common brand), imiquimod (Aldara, Zyclara); or perhaps laser cautery or electrocautery. Another approach might be to continue to have them frozen, while also adding podofilox or imiquimod. "Do I have more aggressive strains of these viruses that makes them come back?" Probably not. No particular wart-causing HPV strains are believed to be inherently more aggressive than others.
Avatar n tn There are detailed discussions of exactly the issues you raise earlier in the STD Forum. Search for HPV, especially in the early part of this year (as I recall). There is no "new" research indicating that HPV persists for life or that it doesn't. The suspicion that it sometimes (often? usually? always?) persists has been present for 20+ years and to my knowledge there is no knew knowledge that provides clear answers. One problem is terminology.
Avatar m tn I am asking casue I hav enotice a light dot on my upper lip. it is on the flips fold. I don recall ever seeing it but it could be becasue I have never paid attention lik i do now. Well, when i smile it looks flate and when i dont and you squint hard enough it looks like it has a tiny little head petruding. if you dongt squingt, you cant see it. I mean, I try to work out regularly and eat right, Is there something wrong with my immune system?
Avatar n tn , scraping off by a health professional, which is less painful than it sounds), electrocautery, or freezing. Imiquimod (Aldara) often works, but is slower than the other methods. 8) There are no OTC remedies that I know of. To repeat the bottom line: I reemphasize that I do not know that you have MC, and that you need to see a health care provider for diagnosis and treatment advice.

Avatar m tn I had a lot better luck with the Aldara when I first burned the warts off with salicylic acid. The Aldara wasn't helping as well before using the acid, especially in certain areas. Yes, it's a bit more pain but it helped me. You could also add Low Dose Naltrexone to your medication. It helps boost the immune system. In your case, I really don't think it would be enough of a benefit on it's own. I tried it with a lot of herbal immune boosters alone and I didn't get any results.
Avatar n tn I had another STD-related question if you wouldn't mind helping me out real quick. I don't know if you recall but when I first posted a question on this forum I had mentioned that I was recently (a few months ago) diagnosed with HPV. As I said, I'm not too worried about this as I realize that many people have this condition and the human body has the ability to completely clear itself of this condition.
Avatar n tn My last one showed me as having VIN2 which my oncologist/gyno wanted me to use ALDARA Cream for 3 months, I tried it but i couldnt function with all the side effects, So after much reading as much as i could find on HPV and VIN i started taking the supplement DIM, thought it was helping some but now I have the burning back again and am afraid I will have to go in and have another biopsy again. I hate this. How come so many of us never heard of this before.
Avatar f tn Regarding symptoms during the time that my ALT/AST were high, basically I didnt feel any abdormimal discomfort. Cant recall any changes in urine color then. But I do remember my body temperature was hotter than average person. I had nose-bleeding once. There were also acnes behind the back then (now they are gone). Also, it seems like it was easier for me to get cough/cold (which was on-going for like a-month).
