Common Questions and Answers about Aldara pictures

aldara

Avatar m tn Anyway I believe they are but they are only small and tend to be flattish or slightly raised and don't take the form of what I expect warts to be like or pictures I have seen on the internet. They do turn white with vinegar. I also have an area of skin on the frenulum which looks completely normal but turns white with vinegar. I know I have been exposed to hpv as my ex has had to have cells removed from her cervix using the leep procedure.
Avatar m tn hey im a 20 year old gay male who used aldara for some small gw for about a month. i quit becuase it was irritating my penis. i have a huge redish pink tinlgling burning blotch that appears to be getting better (after over 3 weeks!) but now another is starting to form i believe it is not incredibly flakey like some of the psoriasis pictures ive seen but it has been kinda dry..
Avatar m tn hi, can anyone tell me if this is a wart: (cut out pictures of the same bump only / [not of my genital] ) its been there for like 2 months. my new doctor is saying that its not one! im confused cos im sure it looks like a wart. picture 1: http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/3113/normalaw.jpg picture 2 (my skin stretched): http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/8596/strecthed.
Avatar f tn I have genital HPV and I was treating the warts using Aldara. Applied a lot of the cream Monday to the outside of lower labia minora. Wednesday the labia was hard, swollen and really sore. Friday the swelling was reduced and in it place were 2 sore lesions located just inside the labia. I am now convinced it is herpes from looking at pictures online and reading the symptoms. I am also experiencing tingling down there too!

Avatar n tn Even looking at pictures online I saw a few similiaries but not a perfect match. After he removed them he said he wasnt sure they were warts when taking a closer look, so he had a biospy done. The biopsy came back as squamous papilloma. From what I understand, squamous papilloma is caused by a certain type of HPV. Is that true? that is basically my question... what type of hpv is squamous papilloma?
902240 tn?1242150458 I'm no expert, but what helped for myself when I discovered it was freezing it and same time start using Aldara. Aldara alone did not help for my fiance (to whom I unknowingly passed it..i know..terrible thing I did), but I read it got a high success rate. Also I read a lot and found if you build up your immune system, your body can fight it off. Good luck...I know it suck.
Avatar m tn I am wondering what you can make of the 2 pictures. http://postimg.org/image/wtjttv38v http://postimg.org/image/wqzy70zlb They are no larger than 1.5 mm / 1/16 inches / no symptoms just presence. I honestly have no idea when they first appeared but I know I have had them for sure for about 5 months and the size has been about as in the image. I think I began to notice when I began to shave. Freaked out I went and got a package of ALDARA and a package of Podofilina 25%.
Avatar m tn Don't bother using Aldara if they recommend it - it has low success rates for mcv in adults. Trust me, I have had this for like 10 months and tried Aldara for nearly 6 months of it with only a few going away (which was probably coincidence). I just had them scrapped off the other day and it feels great not to worry about this anymore. Hit me up if you have any more questions - I have extensively researched mcv.
Avatar n tn I've gotten tested for Herpes and came back negative for HSV-2 but positive for HSV-1. I've used Aldara in the past on a lesion that was burned off, but stopped after 3-4 weeks of use. I've read online that Aldara has a tendency to burn the skin and my dermatologist also mentioned that she has noticed that Aldara always irritates the penis in the location where mine is irritated. I have tried applying 1% hydrocortizone cream with no luck.
Avatar f tn The OBGYN who diagnosed me with GW wasn't very thorough so I switched to a new MD and had 8 months of weekly in office TCA treatments with little to no change in the size or the amount of warts. The treatment was very painful and ineffective so the DR. sent me home with an RX for Aldara because she was out of options. I'm not sure how effective the Aldara was since I still have some of the original lesions from 4 years ago.
Avatar m tn And another thing is since aldara didnt work could it possibly not be gential warts? Ive looked at some pictures and mine dont look like them. And one more thing i seem to have a new symptom. I get these pimples on my thighs which look like there all blood? Could an STD cause this? Any help would be great thanks alot!

Avatar f tn At the very beginning of December I noticed one or two skin tag looking things, my GP said it could be GW and gave me aldara but said to go to a gyno to confirm. One week after using aldara the bumps disappeared, and I went to my GP a few more times the next few weeks and she too said everything looked clear. It took until late January to get into the gyno, she also assured me there was nothing there.
Avatar n tn ask for aldara... it works miracles... its not very painful, though you will get a little raw during the last week of treatment of the month... you put it on at night, in the morning you take a shower and wash it off... you do that 3 times a week and for some people, like me, it goes away after a month of treatment, for others it takes two treatments... before i went to the gyno i also used tea tree oil, and it worked well for me...
Avatar n tn Since I have been treated with HPV, with freezing and I have started using Aldara recently because I noticed a return of the warts I have been even itchier. I am not sure if my persistent scratching is causing damage to the skin around my vaginal or if it could be something else. I have searched the internet and looked up jock itch and think the pictures look similar. The reason I think this may NOT be Herpes is because the itching has been constant. Never going away.
Avatar n tn I have seen some rather nasty looking pictures of Aldara while the treatment is in process, but in my mind it would be worth it to be cured faster. Of course, that decision is up to you and your doctor.

Avatar f tn He took my virginity and gave me genital warts. I was treated a year later with aldara. The three warts disappeared, and I genuinely thought they were gone for good. After having sex again, these skin flaps appeared around the entrance of my vagina. I can't tell whether they are warts or skin flaps/remnants of my hymen. I would post pictures but I don't know how?
Avatar m tn On closer inspection I could see about 50 of them all over from the shaft base to the forskin. They are not pink like the pictures of condylomas that I have seen. and not stacked on top of each other but in a random pattern. From what I can tell there is nothing like it on the glans of my penis. They almost have a waxy very pale pale skin tone. They are easier to see and feel firmer when I have an erection.
Avatar f tn They look dark pink, not skin colored and sure as hell don't look the cauliflower or the pictures online. I was examined in October and the nurse at the planned parenthood didnt say anything about them. I then saw another nurse a few weeks later for a yeast infection and mentioned them. She looked at them at cold heartedly told me they were warts or at least thats what she THOUGHT they were. I was devastated but didnt believe her so I made an appt. somewhere else.
Avatar n tn He said it was a wart and tried to freeze it. It got smaller but It did not go away so he prescribed Aldara. It was back to how it looked before I picked it. I'm not sure if this was a wart to begin with. It is hard to see with a picture so It is not below. My GP never looked anywhere beside at the one on my head. Now, I have found some more bumps that I don't know what they are or if they were there before. PS: I also have a birthmark on my penis that I have had all my life. http://i124.
Avatar m tn OK, it's been over a year and they keep coming back. So I asked for a prescription for Aldara which he gave me. After a few weeks of using just a little bit as instructed with no reaction or results I increased the dose. After a week of upping the dose my penis head swelled to the size of a tennis ball, no joke. I was too embarrassed to seek help.
Avatar n tn I mentioned that the dermatologist who made the diagnosis prescribed me a medication called Aldara (you'll sometimes hear of it under the name Imiquimod). The doc here said he had never heard reports of treating MC with that medication. Among the lots of research I have done about MC on the internet, I have learned it is only beginning to be studied as a treatment. I have been using the medication since 2 weeks and it works well for the lesions on my lower abdomen.
Avatar n tn He acted like it was nothing to be to concerned about and prescribed Aldara. I have been using it for about a month now and it has not had any effect on the bump, it has not grown or become any smaller. I am 46 and have been married since 1988 and have not had sex with anyone other than my wife since 1986. What do you think this could be. As far as I know my wife hasn't had sex with anyone but me.
Avatar m tn Other than that however, they look like some of the pictures on google images. I am thinking of getting tested for peace of mind, but it is expensive. has anyone had similar symptoms and had it be herpes? I just need some advice. They were red at one point. One is on my shaft (i have a couple hair follicles there) and one is about 3 inches above my penis in the pubes. i also had a similar thing on my right side where my belt rides (right on the hip).
Avatar m tn He said it doesnt look like typical HPV and he said Id KNOW if I Herpes. The prior doctor prescribed me Aldara and the new doctor was reluctant to renew because he said what I have is not typical. I got the prescription and left the doctors office upset. I have made myself ridiculously paranoid with online reading because the pictures are HORRIFIC and have driven me mental. Anyways, a thought came to me and I dont know why but I thought fungal infection.
Avatar n tn Doctor said is genital warts without doing any tests and prescribe d me aldara cream. So far no help with the cream. Could it be vestibular papillomatosis? Is that possible to attach a photo to my question?
Avatar m tn Well anyways went to planned parenthood here in town and the nurse said it was a genital wart and the red little bumps were other warts that may form or wont form but it doesn't look like anything i saw in pictures for genital warts because it is really thin and flat and not cauliflower shaped. The nurse told me about treatments and recommended and aldara type cream she said it was the best way to boost my immune system. So i went to a urologist and got a second opinion.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with warts last year and after several cryptography sessions, the warts always came back after 3-4 months. Right now I'm on my 8 week of Aldara and even though I have seen a lot of side effects like redness and swelling, it hasn't done much on warts. I am still going to continue with the full course of 16 weeks but I'm not very hopeful about it. In my case, warts are very small and barely noticeable, nothing like the pictures on the internet that show severe cases.
