Common Questions and Answers about Aldara packets

aldara

Avatar m tn Hey everyone. I have posted on here before about my HPV. I was given aldara a couple months back and have been using it regularly since then. My question is how do I know when I can quit? I stopped for about a week when I went on vacation and forgot my packets and on the trip all my redness went away and things started looking better. When I got home and started using again it came right back. How di I know when I can quit? once the wart is gone... one the packets are all used? THanks!
Avatar m tn Hey just wondering are you supposed to refridgerate Aldara? it says keep between 39-77 degrees. In this heat and me and my brother being cheap college kids out house temp ranges from like 75-80 and likely to go up in the hotter months. Should i hide it in the fridge?

Avatar n tn It would be cumbersome, since PRP affects most of the body, and Aldara comes in small packets--it's hard to see how it could be used on a widespread area of skin. I would find a doctor knowledgeable in the treatment of this condition, presumably at a major medical center, and go for a consultation. Best. Dr.
Avatar m tn (I am using 1 packet every week, using a needle to pierce a hole in the packets) 1. Do you think I should continue with Aldara more aggressively? (more than 3 times a week) 2. Should I combine cryosurgery with Aldara? Get the warts burned then continue with the cream once the warts have more or less cleared? 3. Should I pursue other treatments? Condylox perhaps?
556286 tn?1215557480 Please don't worry, I used to have these warts on my butts, and my doctor gave me Aldara cream 5% (imiquimod) and it went away within two weeks. Aldara is kind of expensive they're $300 for 12 tiny packets of about 4 water droplets. But they worked like miracle. Please ask you doctor for a prescription.
598912 tn?1219552112 I have hpv,and i had a reoccurence of gw so m doc 0rescribed aldara. ******* hell hole in a packet. after only s couple days of using it, yesterday my vagina lips swoll up along with the middle portion too. i began to walk funny because it would hurt to bump them together. i was at work still and needed to home asap.
Avatar n tn -Will the irritation from Aldara (located on the scrotum as a result of contact with the original application site) resolve on its own or do I need another prescription to remedy it? When I first noticed it, it stung terribly, especially when washed, but now it is much smaller and hardly irritates. When left unattended, it seems to develop areas of dead skin & scabbing. All of this is less severe today, but it's still reddish-pink and irritated.
Avatar n tn And then some say you can just ignore them and they will go away on their own. I would just like to save the $200 monthly cost of these Aldara packets, and the electric needle/freezing isn't a good choice because I have so many warts, about 25 that are so tiny they look smaller than pin heads. Any thoughts on tea tree oil, olive skin oil, aloe vera? Thanks for your help.
Avatar n tn Which did seem to work, however, I shaved my bikini area before I saw my dr, and about 5 days later, I had about 12 more. I used up the Aldara quickly because I needed 2 of their tiny packets to treat them at times. I got a second prescription of Aldara. They really appeared overnight. I felt sick every time I found a new one. I had many plans for the summer, but didn't do any of them. I was afraid of exposing anyone to them.
Avatar m tn In the past, some years ago, I had HPV/warts and went way over-board with using Aldara cream all the time (like maybe I used a complete box of packets of Aldara 7-8 times to "really get rid of them"; I was in a foreign country and the pharmacy there was would give medication if you knew the guy, without a script). So, if I ever felt an itch as HPV could cause, I would get aldara and zap it, which I now learned can sometimes cause discomfort/problems.
