Aldara meaning

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara meaning

2206935 tn?1373642205 No one treatment is better than another. People react differently to each type of method used. Your doctor may try to use liquid nitrogen and freeze your warts. I do not recommend surgery. Your warts will resolve eventually on their own anyway, be patient.
Avatar n tn If your wife had them, they would be external and visible. I think you're better off having them frozen than using Aldara, because Aldara can take months and can be very irritating. Freezing really doesn't hurt much and does not leave scars. You might possibly have to have leftovers re-frozen once or twice. If you wait them out, they'll go away but may take months. You really don't need to worry about back-and-forth infections with your wife.
Avatar n tn Is molluscum along the same lines as HPV, meaning does your body get rid of it at some point. I had it several years ago and have not had it since. Am I now cured? Thanks!
Avatar f tn She told me nothing else was wrong with my anus and sent me on my way - with a prescription for aldara. I started using the aldara that night (friday). A week later I was still having difficulties and went to another doctor. This doctor gave me a thorough exam. He found two large fissures at the entrance of my anus and prescribed a cream to help them heal, he also told me to increase fibre. I asked him to look at the warts - he told me there was no evidence whatsoever of warts.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed aldara cream as the warts I had were very small and unnoticable. They cleared up really soon, in about a week and a bit they were comepletely gone. I did suffer some unpleasant side effects but it was nothing I couldn't handle and it went away in a week or 2. This is the confusing bit. The virus HPV will always be in your system. Viruses are incurable unlike infections. Chlamydia is an infection, therefor it can be cured with antibiotics.
Avatar n tn I mentioned that the dermatologist who made the diagnosis prescribed me a medication called Aldara (you'll sometimes hear of it under the name Imiquimod). The doc here said he had never heard reports of treating MC with that medication. Among the lots of research I have done about MC on the internet, I have learned it is only beginning to be studied as a treatment. I have been using the medication since 2 weeks and it works well for the lesions on my lower abdomen.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with HPV a while ago (low risk very minor warts appeared). I actually had a few sub-skin; meaning they weren't visible unless you stretched the skin out and almost looked like hair follicles; removed yesterday by my dermatologist using a nitrogen q-tip treatment. Since then, the areas where she applied the nitrogen treatment has gotten very red (not sore) and just looks unappeasing.
Avatar n tn The limits are there to be fair to all who use the site and to keep individuals from dominating it. On to your questions, briefly. The utility of imiquimod (Aldara) for molluscum is marginal. Instead of wasting time, I would suggest you just bite the bullet and get them frozen. All need to be frozen in order to cure you and then to reduce the likelihood of you infecting your GF, your concerns about oral sex, etc. Just go on and get it done.
1067212 tn?1353964002 I dealt with this on my own, did hours and hours worth of research and started using Aldara cream. I only had a few little bumps and even though I had a terrible reaction from the cream it cleared the warts within 2 weeks, it has been a couple of weeks since I cleared and I have no new warts, although I notice a wart I missed. I told my boyfriend when I found out and he was very supportive and recently he has had an outbreak himself.
Avatar m tn I have had cryo therapy twice (two different area) and it seems like shortly after the cryo therapy I end up getting more warts popping up in different areas. I have been using Aldara on the area where I have warts. I started taking multivitamins and a vitamin D this week to try and boost my immune system. I am not physically active enough and figured vitamins and some exercise would help to boost my immune system. What should I do? Is there anything that I should be doing that I am not?
Avatar n tn The Doctor therefore told me to try another 4 weeks on the Warticon, again no effect whatsoever. The doctor then prescribed Aldara cream. Again after 4 weeks there was still no change to the warts. I think I then did about a further 12 weeks on the aldara at the request of the doctor, with appointments after every 4 week stint. Again no change. As neither the aldara nor the warticon had worked I then did the cryo (freezing) treatmnent.
Avatar n tn I have a follow up in a few weeks and most likely will be prescribed Aldara. My question is about the preferred method of treatment. I know I can run to the doctor every time I see a wart but I want to take preventative action as I don't want to see any appearing months from now. 3) Would applying Aldara to the entire shaft be an effective means of preventing future warts? I am about to begin a serious relationship but have no intention of having sex until I have time to 'clear the virus'.
Avatar n tn Assuming you actually have warts, there are several recommended treatments, both provider-applied (freezing, podophyllin, and bi- or trichloroacetic acid) and prescriptions products named podofilox (Condylox) and imiquimod (Aldara). All are more or less equally effective, although some work better in some persons.
Avatar m tn None of those symptoms sound herpetic to me, Is the molluscum treatment Aldara? That can be very irritating to the skin, for sure, and if it is getting around the genital area, that could cause some symptoms. Oral sex given by you would be very unlikely to contract HSV and a "one pump intercourse" encounter would also be very unlikely to transmit herpes.
Avatar n tn So I noticed about 7 months ago that the wart was still there so this time I went to a dermatologist to have it treated and this time he was able to destroy it with freezing and a prescription aldara. It has not come back but there is scar tissue that tends to become red and then white again. I have been obsessed with looking at it and with checking about hpv on this website. I am now 27 years old and just graduated from college last spring. I want to just stop thinking about this.
Avatar n tn Recurring meaning every 3 to 5 months for the past 10 years I have to go to a doctor and get retreated. I have been to many different doctors and they all say it is the same thing in the same area. I’m 31 years old, healthy and workout with minimal drinking. This issue in men is extremely rare from what I read and from what doctors say. I’m far from a doctor but I think a few people are just unlucky and have to constantly deal with this issue.
Avatar n tn I got them frozen off a month or so later and I have since undergone a dozen treatments and I've done several cycles of Aldara. I am still getting new warts and I am extremely frustrated and depressed about this. I know that the body can eventually "clear" the infection (even though the virus remains present), but I can't seem to arrive to this point, as a new wart will appear and the clock resets.
Avatar m tn Anyways I went to see a doctor and he prescribed me this Aldara which I hope will cure this for me. I am a very healthy and fit 27 year old guy and this will just push me towards being even healthier. Time will tell if it works. But my question is, if I got this from her and she is cured now, could I pass it on back to her again? A couple who is dealing with the same warts, do they need to worry about having sex with each other and making the condition worse by each other?
Avatar f tn History: I was diagnosed with HPV in 2006. After attempting treatment with Aldara for about 8 weeks I underwent Laser Surgery and had probably around 30 warts removed in October of 2006. The pain was hurrendous for the first day or two and then for another week every time I had to urinate. It did get rid of all the warts though. Six months later I broke out again and again had about 10-15 warts removed.
Avatar n tn It is hard to use topical treatments such as aldara cream or condylox for internal warts because then the treatment can cause harsh side effects to healthy skin that are unnecessary. If you have external warts, or warts on the outside of your vagina, then those treatments will work, but your doctor probably has your best interest in mind when she tells you that the best method to remove the type of warts you have is burning them off.
1655600 tn?1302165828 When I first read your post I thought herpes not warts. Of course I'm not saying it's herpes and I also don't understand the meaning of the number for HSV on your STD test. I also take issue with you saying you have a weak immune system. The better truth is that you believe you have a weak immune system. Your reasoning for why you believe your immune system is weak is what I found to be weak. Be very careful you don't pronounce this judgement lightly.
Avatar m tn well ive been using it for more than a week now, and it doesn't look back to normal, it still looks as i described earlier, it must of been the pills that made it worse, the only good thing is that it doesn't hurt or burns, it only bothers but not a lot , and my mind is making me think negative about it, meaning im going crazy about it, but ill give it a few more days, im sure this type of infection doesn't heal up quickly.
Avatar m tn // The genetic control of airway responsiveness and the effect of resiquimod treatment on allergic asthma resiquimod Imiquimod and resiquimod as novel immunomodulators
Avatar n tn Anyway back to the aldara, if you have insurance its like $160 for the 4 month treatment, otherwise its $1200, when you burn off all the warts, THEN apply the aldara because the aldara did not clear my warts, but after 4 months of using it, it PREVENTED them for 8 months. So basically, Im thinking about just using aldara 3 times a week for life, to prevent. Untill then I'll use compund.
Avatar f tn I was scare at first but now **** the virus.shall do my treatment, and wait for miracle. Alinia reduced the virus on me meaning its working so its cant increase your virus guess something else, pls find that out.
Avatar m tn I had a lot better luck with the Aldara when I first burned the warts off with salicylic acid. The Aldara wasn't helping as well before using the acid, especially in certain areas. Yes, it's a bit more pain but it helped me. You could also add Low Dose Naltrexone to your medication. It helps boost the immune system. In your case, I really don't think it would be enough of a benefit on it's own. I tried it with a lot of herbal immune boosters alone and I didn't get any results.
Avatar m tn In most cases, Candida (usually Candida albicans in mammals) is commensal, meaning it lives with the other flora in the gut without causing any particular harm. Certain changes in environment, like a sudden lack of balance between yeast and bacteria in the body will sometimes trigger the harmless single-celled Candida to become a multicellular invader. This can manifest in several different ways, including diaper and skin rashes, thrush, nail bed infections, and yeast infections.
Avatar m tn aldara on the skin where you inject the vaccine is a very promising approach, and very available. The injections should be done intradermally, maybe 6 to eight injections spaced about 1cm on skin that has been prepared with aldara 2 hours before and again immediately before the injection. the doses for intradermal vaccinations are less than for intramuscular. having zadaxin in the mix would enhance it further, a Canadian trial has proven that.
Avatar m tn Sittng in the dark and just being depressed is not going to help you at all, neither is regret. You are now in a battle with the virus. Meaning you can win, don't let the virus win. Think about people who find out they have Herpes or HIV, think about how much more depressing that is. You can't even get rid of those viruses where in the case of HPV you CAN clear the virus where it won't ever cause another outbreak or be transmissible again.
