Aldara eczema

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara eczema

aldara

Avatar n tn One another suggestion is to apply some moisturizer or petrolium jelly on the skin surrounding the warts while applying the aldara on warts... remember, aldara is to be applied on warts only and should not come in contact with the healthy skin...
Avatar n tn I've been battling molluscum and have nasty eczema and a bit of a secondary infection from picking the bumps. Dr. prescribed me prednisone and ciproflox. I'm sooo itchy all over but i don't want to take prednisone if it's going to make the molluscum worse. Is the prednisone a bad idea?
Avatar n tn About 5 years ago, I noticed a raised area growing on the top side of the shaft of my penis. This was on an area that had previously (about 1 year earlier) been rubbed a little raw during sex with a girl who was promiscuous. I ended up getting a dermatologist to look at it. She did not look at it very long, but gave me some Aldara to use. It did not look like a normal wart shapewise but it was more brownish colored than the other skin on my penis.
Avatar m tn I was also told to use steroidal cream but told that it was bad to use it from another doctor and one dermatologist said it could be eczema and the other said its because of aldara even though i used that awhile back. Im so confused.
Avatar m tn it almost looks like my skin is cracking apart. I went to a doctor about 5 years ago and he wasn't sure what is was and prescibed me Aldara. The skin smoothed out using Aldara, but it went back to normal very quickly after I stopped using it. Does anyone have any Idea what this could be? I'm thinking maybe i need to get a biopsy. How much do biopsies cost? Any information is appreciated.
Avatar f tn It's painful for her, because of the eczema and really unsightly. I have a prescription of Diprolene for the eczema...but I'm pretty sure I shouldn't use that anymore, since it has a steroid in it and can make the molluscum worse. Can someone please answer that for me? Cause if I can use it, I will...it worked like gem on her eczema in the past, but I definitely don't want to use it if it makes the Molluscum worse. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Avatar m tn Lichen Simplex Chronicus is seen in people with eczema. It is non contagious. It is treated like chronic eczema by decreasing water and soap contact, and applying emollients. Topical steroids are almost always needed to control the symptoms. You can use mild steroid cream like Dermacort and if the symptoms persist then high potency steroids and oral steroids may be needed. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist to get the diagnosis confirmed.
Avatar m tn my doctor said i have per-anal warts and he is treating me with aldara. i feel itchy long time ago before i was sexually active. and i used a hair removal cream on that area. i am just wondering if that may cause infection on that area?
Avatar n tn I was treating warts with aldara earlier this summer and I think it might have triggered this rash. I discontinued the aldara. When i discontinue the aldara the skin is red, irritated, ulcerated and flaky. I've been putting some lubriderm lotion on my penis/scrotum but i'm worried about autonioculating myself with hpv or hsv. Sometimes from using a certain soap the area becomes incredibly irritated and painful.
Avatar m tn I have also tried the following prescription creams Salex, Retin-A Micro and Aldara. Aldara worked for a couple of weeks but then it started attacking parts of my skin that I did not have warts. I started getting blisters and fevers. I had to get these blisters treated because they were oozing. I went to urgent care since my other Doctors weren’t available. They prescribed Floucinonide which stopped the burning and the blistering.
Avatar n tn I have been to three different doctors, two of whom had no answers for me, the third of which diagnosed me with eczema. The rash starts with clusters of small red bumps, usually on my legs, that get a pale discoloration around them. They become extremely itchy and look like tiny blisters. I have now had them appear on my inner calves, thighs, buttocks, stomach, upper arms, neck, scalp, and groin. I also have several swollen lymph nodes on my neck, which I also consulted a doctor about.
Avatar m tn itried to hide it from my wife coz i don't want her to worry and be ashamed of me but due to changes in our sex life, we started to have marital problems that lead me into telling her that i think the penile skin problems i got could be a reason why i can'y maintain penile erection for long..and as of maybe march of this year i had it again until now.. .
Avatar m tn I have been using a cream that is supposed to remove warts for 3 weeks, but have yet to see any effects. Aldara (imiquimod) does say it can take up to a month to notice results, so this might be a bit premature. I am waiting for my dermatologist apppointment, but it is booked at the end of April. Is there anything I should be looking into during the wait?
Avatar n tn About ten days later i noticed some little bumps and my penis, they didnt hurt just wernt normal so i went to planned parent hood and they saind it wasnt herpes and that i looked more like warts. so they gave me aldara and told me to come back in a month.
Avatar m tn It's time to go back to the clinic for additional follow up. Ask them to either prescribe aldara cream for you for them ( or a similar product ) or to remove them/freeze them/burn them off with acid for you ( I know - that all sounds so painful but it's not as bad as it sounds ...well not for too long ). They can check out your anal area to see if that looks like mc too or not.
Avatar n tn Oral herpes (Type 1) may be milder, but still has blisters. 4. No, there aren't. On the other hand eczema of the penis and scrotum, spontaneous or indiced by rubbing, presents exactly this way. Sometimes circumstances can make a non-hypochondriac into a chronic worrier. As Hamlet said, Thus conscience does make cowards of us all.
Avatar n tn I will also add that I originally saw a new doctor in my GP's office and she thought they were warts after examining me and wanted to prescribe Aldara, which after researching, I decided not to because of the cost and lack of effect most people claimed after using. Then I went to the Dermatologist and his diagnosis was NOT warts, but the pearly penile papules. I saw another Dermatologist(a PA this time) and he confirmed what the first Dermatologist's(an MD) diagnosis.
Avatar n tn It could be is eczema. I've had discoid eczema for about two years, and have just recently begun itching in and around my outer "lip" area. I have been using cocoa butter and coal tar cream "extremely sparingly" and it seems to help. This could explain not having any other symptoms other then the itching.
