Aldara dangerous

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara dangerous

aldara

Avatar n tn This is no question but rather a clarification. I have been using aldara for about a month and a half, and judgeing by the topics, several others need some guidence. I caught Molluscum contagium, maybe from the gym, maybe from sex who knows, who cares. I noticed some very small hybrid of pimples and warts in my gentital area. So of course, like most of you, I freaked. I am a healthy 21 year old male who has had a fairly modest sexual life (less than 10 partners, no one night stands).
Avatar m tn What i can tell is that before using Aldara she feels very well. Maybee Aldara works for some people, but for the other it could be really dangerous .
2206935 tn?1373642205 I look forward to reading any information that you have. As a physician your comments are dangerous when they are not accurate and scare people!
Avatar m tn Discontinue use of Aldara, it is a dangerous drug and it seems to me that the side effects far outweigh the **possibility** of removing your warts. See a doctor that will use electrocautery, this procedure removes the warts immediately, you do not have to wait for them to fall off. Also, try to eat healthy and remove stress from your life, this will help your immune system to prevent the warts from coming back.
Avatar n tn I just found out I had HPV yesterday and had my warts frozen and was given aldara to use in two days time. My question was, when would it be ok to masturbate again, and when would it be ok to have sex again?
Avatar n tn i do think there may be a way to get rid of it..but similar to aldara. perhaps an injection of an aldara-like immune modifer into the lymph nodes for a week long trial? this may help the body slam the EBV (mono). you're spreading this **** when you don't even know it because the Epstein Barr Virus (MONO..yep..
Avatar n tn I had them frozen off to only return within a month or two. So I decided to try the prescription drug Aldara on the advice of a dermatologist after he tried applying some similar acting agent product in the office with limited results after 5 weekly visits. Within 1 week of treatment my genitals became extremely sensitive and red, I also experienced  herpes like outbreaks on my lips and a general feeling of tiredness and malaise.
Avatar n tn I have tried everything from Aldara, Condylux and Condisil Gel. Nothing works. The best results have come with the bleach, but the bumps are gone for only a day at the most. Then they come right back.
Avatar n tn he just kinda said these look suspicious, that they might be genital warts...went and got liquid nitrogen, froze them off, and then prescribed me Aldara. The whole thing was so ambiguous I dont know what to think. It seems like if I actually had genital warts he wouldnt have been so nonchalant about it, but I dont know why he would prescribe me Aldara if I didnt have it. I am in a monogamous relationship, and have been having unprotected sex with her (shes on the pill), since September.
Avatar n tn i had genital warts on my penis treated by surgery 2 years ago. Before surgery i had them for over a year. I started treating them with aldara cream and at first they seemed to go away after about 6 or 8 weeks maybe. But they came back. This time they were resistant to aldara and they got pretty big and ugly. my urologist said we shoudl do surgery and send for pathology just to rule out cancer. anyways, they came back as condyloma.
Avatar m tn i even know there are over 100 strains of hpv of which some end as cancer. please help me out if i have hpv is it dangerous,is cryotherapy gonna give me relief form these warts, is this therapy costly, if diagnosed with hpv will it cause any health related problems later in my life, can i continue my sexual relation with my partner. please reply i am really very scared.
Avatar f tn to add to your first question, as per experts, if you don't get any recurrance of warts within 6 months of completing wart removal treatments, you most likely are cured and become non-contagious but a doctor can guarantee you that you don't have the sub-clinical warts either... it is really uncertain and hard to say if you can ever become non-contagious even without visible warts because the possibility of sub-clinical warts is always there...
Avatar m tn I am a 20 year old gay male and was diagnosed with HPV and perianal genital warts in March of this year. I saw a dermatologist in April and began using aldara to treat them, there were internal and external warts. By mid July the warts had cleared and from what I could feel myself there were no internal ones either.
Avatar n tn I have been receiving treatment the whole time, varying from freezing which is painful with so many warts, and time consuming to Aldara which causes ulceration, itchiness and soreness. Some go only to be replaced by more. I am at my wits end to know what to do as I have had these warts for 8 months now. I am a healthy person, who excercises regularly and eats well. I do sometimes get drunk and smoke but I am not a regular smoker.
Avatar n tn Should I be looking for blister like rashes on his genitels or could it simply look like a red rash? Does it have to itch? What should I be looking for? Is this dangerous and could it turn into something else more serious. I'm a breast cancer survivor and am concerned about my immune system. Please help and put me at ease. The thought of herpes makes me very nervous. Thank You.
Avatar n tn 2 docs and 2 PAs have viewed them. No one can explain what they are. Aldara did not work. Once frozen off they do not re-appear in the same site. No clinician can view them unless I point them out. I stopped waxing and shaving near the area which only makes them harder to find. The biospied lesion was a squared cluster of the 4 dark-colored rounded lesions. They are mostly now the size of a pinhead, gray/dark brown, round, smooth, raised, and appear mole like.
Avatar m tn Hello again, I just got back from the dermatologist who told me she thinks that the bumps are warts associated with HPV! It's a very scary thing for me to hear because I never thought I'd be "that guy" with HPV. So it looks like I'm a statistic. She prescribed me Aldara 5% which I will start applying to my skin very soon. It says to use it up to 16 weeks.
Avatar f tn How long should it take for the warts to go away using Aldara treatment? 2. How long should I wait to have unprotected sex with my husband? 3. Can a person carry and transmit different strains of the HPV virus? The 6 and 11 and also the cancerous type? Although my PAP smear showed negative, it was done in December and I'm worried that I might have the dangerous type of virus. Do you recommend immunization to prevent other types of HPV? Thanks!
Avatar n tn In other words, no test exists--in research labs or anywhere else--that can offer certainty that someone isn't carrying HPV. Happily, HPV rarely is dangerous, mostly asymptomatic. Getting it is normal and nothing to lose sleep over.
Avatar m tn i think they used vaccines without dangerous preservatives the best hbv vaccine is in israel pharmacies but i cant find ingredients online to see what preservatives are being used http://www.globes.co.il/serveen/globes/docview.asp?did=1000754929&fid=1725 http://israel21c.
Avatar m tn freezing, laser, imiquimod (Aldara, Zyclara), podofilox (Condylox), or sinecatechins (Veregen). It will speed up clearance of the visible, diagnosed warts -- but none of these treatments eradicate HPV or treat nearby infected tissues. Think of genital warts like an iceberg -- the obvious part above water, but 90% invisible below the surface.
Avatar f tn It hasn't spread, I have never heard from any ex that they had warts, and I was told it's possible it's just a scar by now and the viral load is gone. I tried Aldara, interferon injections, and a long time ago an acidic solution that just hurt like mad but never did anything. This thing is UNKILLABLE! But is it still dangerous? I got a new wart on my labia about 2 years ago, a few months after meeting my boyfriend.
Avatar m tn do you have other sides from intf?on aldara+gcmaf i am feeling always very very cold and feel cold hands and feet, ever felt like this?
Avatar f tn The point is not whether we need Vitamin D - we do. But whether we need supplement or just spend a little more time in the sun. Here we can get a milk product that supplies the daily requirement for Vitamin D, so I tossed the expensive Vitamin D tablets that I bought and buy that special blend of milk.
Avatar n tn Now I have all this bumps and my genitalia does not look the same. They all think I am lunatic. Anyhows, I tried aldara that I bought online. After more than one month of using it, the bumps are going away but there are just more left. I've seen a nurse practitioner at the office about a week ago and then she said the I don't have genital warts. She even advised me to stop aldara cream. i am still using the cream because it makes it go away. Anyone have the same problem?
Avatar n tn About 6 months later I put garlic on it which did make it way smaller, though it came back. I used aldara just twice and garlic and it was gone- it took about a year. Then it came back last year, in the same exact place, very tiny. I went to an NP and she put acetic acid on it, it did not turn white. She said it was not a wart, that sometimes you can get bumps. She offered to burn it off, I said no... It stayed there the same size for a while and then it started to get bigger.
Avatar n tn Anyway back to the aldara, if you have insurance its like $160 for the 4 month treatment, otherwise its $1200, when you burn off all the warts, THEN apply the aldara because the aldara did not clear my warts, but after 4 months of using it, it PREVENTED them for 8 months. So basically, Im thinking about just using aldara 3 times a week for life, to prevent. Untill then I'll use compund.
Avatar n tn I actually have not had a breakout since then and that has been about 8 years ago. I do know that pregnancy makes them grow and it is dangerous to give a vaginal birth if you have an outbreak because it can be taken into the baby's mouth as they pass through and it can cause problems with the vocal cords. It can attach in the throat and cause damage. This was all explained to me by my OB, but since they never came out during pregnancy I was fine.
Avatar m tn When you do treat the wart with lets say, cryotherapy, your wart will dry and fall off but the skin where the wart was may still contain a small amount of the virus, it may or may not cause another outbreak but thats how you treat the area after you get rid of the wart. Use veregen or Aldara on it afterwards to use your immune system to treat that area.
