tobradex

Avatar n tn Our practice uses the Alcon toric IOL with good results. It would be interesting for anyone with that IOL in their eye to share their experience. You can also use the search feature and archives to read previous discussions.
Avatar m tn They have the highest Abbe, low incidence of halos, glare, and vacuoles. The surgeon who diagnosed me uses the Alcon mono lens. Questions: 1) Am correct that Tecnis is superior? 2) If so what type of Tecnis monofocal should I get? 3) Are there any particular problems reported with the Tecnis implants? 4) My surgeon tells me Alcon supplies the majority of IOL iimplants. Is this correct? 5) Is Tecnis also a major supplier? Thank for your time.
Avatar f tn No Alcon is widely used and even if a surgeon uses another brand it will not create a problem to evalute your case. Your problem is very atypical since cataract surgery is usually fast healing and not painful. That's as helpful as I can be anything more would be speculation.
Avatar m tn I'm seriously considering using a surgeon that wants to implant a 3 piece alcon IOL because the 1 piece doesn't come in a power low enough for me to be corrected to his target of -.5 The lens power is +4.5 I've heard that 1 piece IOLs are easier to implant than 1 piece. True or not? A 1 piece alcon with a +6 power is what the other surgeon I'm considering wants to use which will correct me to approx. - 1.
Avatar m tn I have a cataract, and am weighing the benefits of a blue-filtering monofocal IOL (Alcon), violet-filter IOL (Zeiss), and UV-filtering IOL. I realize the evidence is inconclusive, but I am puzzled by Alcon's claims that blue light creates an increased risk of macular degeneration. If there is even limited evidence to support the toxicity of blue light, shouldn't optometrists prescribe blue-filtering lenses for younger patients?
Avatar f tn The tobradex is completely out of your system after 6 days. But your symptoms are very disturbing. I would return for another exam or seek a second opinion with another ophthalmologist.
Avatar n tn I had an eye infection(eye redness) and my doctor pescribed me Tobradex for 5 days. The eye redness is gone now but I'm having problem now on my right eye Problems are blurred vision ,eye pain upon eye movement and a sensitivity to light. I searched on Google and found in many articles that the eye blurriness is one of the side effects of using Tobradex. My question is there anyone had the same problem of blurry vision? what precautions to take ? Is your eye is now ok?
Avatar f tn Hi Jodie, Thanks... They are all silicone, but the two monofocals seem to be the least preferred, at least around here. *Everyone* uses the acrylic, for some reason I don't fully understand. I just feel they must have some good reason but that I may not be hearing the full story. Do you know?
Avatar n tn I was told that the eye itself looked very good...no infection/abrasions noted. I was put on Tobradex drops for pain management. I have not noticed any improvement with my eye since using the drops. I'm wanting to know if I should be seen by an opthamologist. Does an opthamologist treat problems associated with the eyelids/muscles when the eye appears to be healthy?
Avatar n tn Likewise, I was given eye drops (TobraDex) after the floxin ear drops failed to clear up a resistant infection. I don't think it will hurt you, but mine burned a bit when I first put them in. My ENT said the eye drops have a steroid, so they it is more aggressive at killing infections. Anyways, after 3 weeks of the eye drops....even the eye drops hasn't fully killed the infection, so I guess I have a particularly nasty strain.
Avatar m tn I wonder if there are any other IOL types that let thru some UV? I know the Alcon IOLs not only filter out UV but some of the blue specturm as well.
Avatar n tn I had eye surgery a month ago on 7/24/09. My doctor(opthamologist) pescibed tobradex to be used 4X daily. I put these eye drops in as directd. I have been using them now for a month. How long do I have to use this medicine? I am also using a tobradex ointment at bedtime. Can you plesae let me know? Frank.

Avatar f tn Both lower lids become puffy, a little bit itchy, red, wrinkled and visibly dry. I went to ophthalmologist and was prescribed Tobradex (antibiotic/corticosteroid). This medication helped after I used it for a couple of weeks. I stopped using it, and everything was fine for a while, my lower eyelids were back to normal, without that awful wrinkles and puffiness and redness. But in about 10-14 days the problem started again. I again used Tobradex for about 3-4 days.
Avatar f tn I have been noticeing small clear bubbles forming on the inside of my lowere eyelid . I have several of them , i had some tobradex drops and used them but nothing is makeing them go away , has anyone had this problem ???
Avatar n tn Are steroids such as Maxitrol or Tobradex *supposed* to help with eye burning caused by dry eye or can it make your symptoms worse? I'm dealing with allergic conjunctivitis (again!) and dealing with burning eyes. thanks!
Avatar n tn t have that on their own web page, but multifocals from the same manufacturer often show the monofocal comparison. This third party study uses an Alcon monofocal as a control: http://www.healio.
Avatar n tn Would you recommend an 19 mo. old infant to use Tobradex for a chalazion? We just got a rx but we are not sure this is safe for an infant under two years old. The side effects for long term use mention glaucoma and vision problems? Should I be concerned about this?
Avatar n tn He put me on flax seed oil, allegra, restasis, sterilid and qtips, moisturizing eyedrops and tobradex. At one point he did tell me to slow down on the tobradex but I couldn't handle having such bloodshot eyes so he's allowed me to continue usage for the past year and a half while monitoring my IOP levels. I decided to try to wean myself off of tobradex again, but despite my bloodshot eyes he said that he didn't think I was experiencing rebound symptoms from the steroids.
Avatar n tn My 93 yr. old mom was given Tobradex for an eye infection and has not been the same since. She had no med. hist. other than moderate dementia. After the 1st dose of tobradex, she became difficult to arrouse and because of this, slightly dehydrated. She also had immediate increased difficulty in swallowing. Approx. 3 weeks after dc of ointment, she was in the hospital due to build up of upper resp. fluid.
Avatar m tn It is not improving and he rubs it all of the time. I am a physician and was wondering if I should prescribe a steroid like tobradex or maxitrol for it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar n tn I had a vitrectomy plus cataract removal surgery about 13 days ago. First 5 days was 6 drops of Tobradex per day and then just 4 drops per day u til today. On day 6, pressure was good according to my doc but today on day 13, pressure had gone above 30. My doctor said i would have to stop using Tobradex as the steroid has caused the raised eye pressure and prescribed instead Lotemax and Cravit to be used 6 times a day and Azarga 2 times a day.
Avatar m tn About 1 month ago I used tobradex drops for 10 days. Since then, my eyes have been tearing a lot and it always seems like I am 'crying'. I saw a opthamologist recently who said I have dry eye syndrome and suggested systane ultra. How can I have dry eye syndrome when my eyes are tearing so much? Could the tobradex have reduced inflammation on my tear ducts, thereby causing increase in tearing? Also my eyes are red all the time and looks like I have been smoking pot or something.
Avatar n tn i had a cataract surgery month ago, but still it doesnt look like its healing well., i noticed a redness of my eye,. it looks to me that its like bleeding from the stitch...my surgeon gave me tobradex., well it does work....it's does stop the bleeding/redness, but when i stop using it. it comes back again!!!....i really dont know whats happening, plese help!!.......
