Update: I went to the same opthamologist and he checked my vision and prescribed me glasses. He refused to admit that the Tobradex was the culprit of my blurred vision in the one eye. He also gave me drops to lower the pressure in that eye. After 2 days of taking the drops, my vision returned to normal. It was IOP that caused my blurred vision and was a direct result of the Tobradex.
Not so sure about tacrolimus. Look at the law offices looking for people treated with tacrolimus creams. Still some concern out there about serious side effects. Don't forsee approval anytime soon in U.S.
As a side note, have your doctor look for demodex follicularis. Some research indicates that they can worsen lid margin disease.
Also cannot see close up with my old over the counter reading glasses, and I have to wear my driving glasses with which I am able to see the text on the computer and phone clearly. Have not been informed before surgery of these possible side effects of cataract surgery. Can anyone tell me about the flickering and could that eventually go away and why do I see clearly with my distance driving glasses on the computer and not my old close up glasses. very peculiar for sure.

An Alcon representative called me on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, concerning my surgery and the implant of the Restor lens. When I told her of the terrible effects of the implant, my blurred vision and the black flickering line I now see she actually suggested I go to the drugstore and buy reading glasses!
I just spent $4650.00 to improve my vision and the Alcon representative told me to go the drugstore and buy reading glasses!
I did feel some of the side effects mentioned in its pamphlet, like eye ache and itchiness, and a bit of stinging that didn’t last long but the aching was becoming more consistent. Sunday 5/13 and today 5/14 my right eye feels more sore, or achy since Friday when I started taking the eye drops. I’m suppose to take 3 more doses (1 more tonight, 2 tomorrow) according to my instructions. My right eye feels very uncomfortable and the aching is more consistent than Friday too.
He then said that Crystalens had some negative side effects, as well, and said I would be happier with monofocal IOLs set for distance, (I would use glasses for closer work, as I have already been doing for years). He said my right eye has so little astigmatism that it would not benefit from an Alcon ACRYSOF® Toric lens and that a "standard" IOL (covered by Medicare) would suffice. (When I decide to have my left eye done, I should get the Toric to correct its more severe astigmatism.
By Wednesday it was worse so I went to opthamologist who disgnosed Chalazion and prescribed warm/hot compresses several tmes a day and TOBRADEX eye drops 4 x a day + TOBRADEX ointment at night. It is now Saturday, six days later, with eye worse.
Does this seem like good advice? Is it usual that a Chalazion will get worse after initial appearance and after treatment has started I am away from home for work which makes me less secure about medical care.
t recall that this was listed on the side effects/complication list. My feeling is that I am not supposed to see the lens. If thousands before me could get it done and see just fine after sx, I should be one of them too. I don't have a large pupil. 6mm then should be plenty from what I can see.
I contacted Alcon. They were dancing around the issue in correspondence, until finally they asked for my surgeon's contact info to report the "incidence".
I am a 49 year old and had the ReZoom implanted (right - dominant eye) last year (2/08) and have experienced ALL the side effects - hallos, blurry vision in low light and terrible night vision. After MANY consults with my surgeon, he is agreeing that the rezoom needs to be explanted (replaced).
He is leaning towards the new (?) Alcon ReStor lens, but acknowledges that it also has some side effects...
I was told that the eye itself looked very good...no infection/abrasions noted. I was put on Tobradex drops for pain management. I have not noticed any improvement with my eye since using the drops. I'm wanting to know if I should be seen by an opthamologist. Does an opthamologist treat problems associated with the eyelids/muscles when the eye appears to be healthy?
I had eye surgery a month ago on 7/24/09. My doctor(opthamologist) pescibed tobradex to be used 4X daily. I put these eye drops in as directd. I have been using them now for a month. How long do I have to use this medicine? I am also using a tobradex ointment at bedtime. Can you plesae let me know? Frank.
feels it is not related to my eye but it happened in the area where it hurts the most ( the right side of the right eye). The poking is more near the center to tear duct area and happens more when I focus close. My vision is clear and I am thankful for that - but it hurts more when things are closer - reading & computer (3 ft away), TV (8 ft away). I use reading & computer glasses & glare screens on the computers.
Right now im taking TOBRAdex, and Hialid, way back dec2011, i had a sore eyes, then i used a MAxritol without consulting a doctor, then my eyes got irritated, then i went to CEBU Dr,Larrazabal,then he gave me hialid & frulon,, then after 5mnths it was okey.. on the last week of August 2012,i felt sometimes a blurred vision, then, i consult again to Dra. Aquiatana herein our PLACE..
Both lower lids become puffy, a little bit itchy, red, wrinkled and visibly dry. I went to ophthalmologist and was prescribed Tobradex (antibiotic/corticosteroid). This medication helped after I used it for a couple of weeks. I stopped using it, and everything was fine for a while, my lower eyelids were back to normal, without that awful wrinkles and puffiness and redness. But in about 10-14 days the problem started again. I again used Tobradex for about 3-4 days.
I have been noticeing small clear bubbles forming on the inside of my lowere eyelid . I have several of them , i had some tobradex drops and used them but nothing is makeing them go away , has anyone had this problem ???
