Avatar m tn It sounds to me based on what you've said that you may be allergic to alcohol. You say your father and your grandfather can't drink at all. It sounds like this runs in your family. Red wine is difficult to tolerate for a lot of people. I can't drink red wine because it gives me a headache. It's the tannin in the red wine. I found this out a long time ago. You say you are going into the banking field. If you want to you could say that you are allergic to alcohol.
649848 tn?1534633700 A light beer (approximately 100 calories) or a glass of reduced-calorie wine (about 90 to 100 calories) are other lower-calorie options. But if you want to know why some alcoholic beverages contain more calories than others, read on. Pure alcohol contains 7 calories per gram -- that's less than a gram of fat, which has 9 calories, but more than protein and carbs, which have 4 calories per gram each -- but other variables of your drink influence the calorie count.

9023883 tn?1402943375 t seem right you can drink that and not regular flavored wine. I thought red wine had quiet a bit of alcohol in it. (Just curious not old enough to drink anyway!
Avatar f tn I choose not to drink alcohol in my pregnancy, personal decision! Doctors bump heads about alcohol in pregnancy but the research I have came across is enough to just wait! I drink caffeine though lol Lots of it!!
362249 tn?1441315018 Alcohol can trick you. It has calories so must be taken into account in your daily caloric counts but it does dehydrate you. Providing you don't drink alcohol the next day you will rehydrate and be back where you should be providing you didn't immensely go over your calorie intake. I just count it as it is since I weigh in daily.
Avatar f tn Yea I thought so my doctor tld me red wine & im 30weeks & 5days
Avatar f tn It has to be red wine is what my doctor told me. I drink a little glass a couple times a week.

Avatar f tn My OB with my first told me a little glass of red wine is okay because of the iron. That was the first time I heard it. My OB with my 2nd never told me anything.
Avatar f tn It's fine. My OB said a glass of red occasionally is fine.
Avatar f tn t touched a drop of alcohol since. Some doctors have been known to recommend a glass of red wine and even a glass of guinness and blackcurrant because both contain iron. I personally won't touch a drop of alcohol but it's each to their own.
Avatar n tn I have always heard that it is ok to drink red wine or wine during pregnancy. Is that true? If so, how often would I be able to drink it throughout my pregnancy?
Avatar n tn It is easy for me to surmise that it is the sulfites, because it was the inexpensive wines I had been cooking with. I have no doubt, since white wine and red wine affected me exactly the same way. Kindd explained that they have more sulfites than other wines, which I actually knew, so I knew what was making me feel like I had the flu. Avoiding anything with wine in it definitely does the trick.
Avatar f tn My doctor said i can have a glass of wine a week.
8395982 tn?1399258729 s always gonna be someone who crucifies women for a glass of wine. There has been no proof at all that one glass of red wine will cause any harm to your child. Liquor and beer are a big no no. But some doctors even RECOMMEND a small glass of red wine. You'll be just fine, so will baby.
