While I agree with caregiver222, that 1000 calories is 1000 calories; if you make that 1000 calories a mix of fruits, veggies, dairy, lean meats, nuts, etc --- you will be much healthier and more likely to lose weight than if you get that 1000 calories from 5 candy bars (200 calories/each) throughout the day........... there's a huge difference........

For awhile I was only eating 1200-1300 calories, so I increased my calories to about 1500-1600 a day, but it has been over a month and I feel the same: very weak and exhausted, and in pain in my arms, legs, and shoulders. I also have massive headaches almost every day that last almost all day long. In addition, I often wake up in the morning with a numb body and tingling sensation in my face.

Avatar m tn If that is not an option, make sure he gets enough Thiamine (Vitamine B1). Alcohol makes it hard for any B vitamines to get absorbed into the system and Thiamine is essential for nerves. These are pills you can get everywhere. Normally we get all sorts a vitamin B from food, brown rice, whole grain foods etc. Alcoholics don't absorb those nutrients and since they get a lot of their daily calories from alcohol, they don't eat as well as they should, further limiting their vit B intake.

Providing you don't drink alcohol the next day you will rehydrate and be back where you should be providing you didn't immensely go over your calorie intake. I just count it as it is since I weigh in daily.

Avatar f tn What list are you talking about? Can't imagine any diet that would recommend anything at McDonalds, as nothing there is healthy or easily digested no matter what the amount of calories are. Digestibility is as or more important than calories, and health is above all other issues.

Avatar m tn i drink a gallon of milk a day with calories on top so i probably eat around 3500 to 4000 calories a day and i quit cardio due to the fear that i might lose weight. i remember like 3 years ago i got into a fight with this guy and he hit me in my throat. could that have caused damage to my thyroid? iv also fractured my penis and now my penis is partially numb on the underside could that have unbalanced my hormones? iv also had a Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) test and the test came back normal.
