alcohol

Avatar f tn You surely should not drink any alcohol at all while taking pain medication, or any medication for that matter.
Avatar m tn Maybe you were trying to be diplomatic or play it safe but the facts suggest that your statement was flat out wrong. Alcohol has NEVER been shown to play ANY role in HCV reactivation.
10476455 tn?1423121400 I say of you're afraid of alcohol getting into your milk, I would pump it before you decide to have some drinks :) Breastfeeding helps you lose weight. And your boobs will sag regardless of what you do.
1153085 tn?1341301893 Kcal is another name for calories. 437Kcal means that there is 437 calories in that food.
Avatar n tn prichard16 - yes, the types of calories makes a difference. While I agree with caregiver222, that 1000 calories is 1000 calories; if you make that 1000 calories a mix of fruits, veggies, dairy, lean meats, nuts, etc --- you will be much healthier and more likely to lose weight than if you get that 1000 calories from 5 candy bars (200 calories/each) throughout the day........... there's a huge difference........
Avatar n tn So let me ask this....if a man consumes drugs and alcohol would the ingredients of the drugs and alcohol be present in the womans urine analysis after she consumes his sperm?
362249 tn?1441315018 Alcohol can trick you. It has calories so must be taken into account in your daily caloric counts but it does dehydrate you. Providing you don't drink alcohol the next day you will rehydrate and be back where you should be providing you didn't immensely go over your calorie intake. I just count it as it is since I weigh in daily.
Avatar n tn No; not in Canadian culture anyways. Where you live and the beliefs around drinking alcohol will determine whether or not this is "socially" bad, but science shows that drinking a small amount of alcohol daily (especially from fermented sources) can actually be good for you and in particular, your vascular system. Many societies have or have had alcoholic beverages (especially beer) as their main drink simply because water quality was, or is, poor.
1555116 tn?1294483683 If weight loss comes about by burning more than you eat, how can this be possible, especially on such a healthy diet and exercise plan, and particularly without all those alcohol calories? Any help anyone could give would be very much appreciated.
Avatar f tn t even look at carbs the same way anymore! You can even pass up potato chips. I read an article about alcohol in a diet. It faulted alcohol for being even easier to burn than carbs, so your body stores all your food and burns the alcohol instead, hence the "beer belly". Alcohol, as well as other high carb foods also make you crave more alcohol and high carb foods- a terrible cycle to fall into either way.
10538711 tn?1443571442 For every 1 g of fat you consume you take in 9 calories and for every 1 g of alcohol you consume you take in 7 calories. Check nutrition facts labels for calories per serving size of the foods you eat and write you food calories down in the journal to keep track. Count calories you burn from exercise each day. You can burn 100 to 500 calories every day by engaging in at least 30 minutes of exercise. Double what you burn by working out for a full hour.
466909 tn?1207568232 It's nobody's fault but mine that I'm an addict. If I didn't take Oxycontin, I would have found my addiction in the bottom of a bottle of alcohol or another substance. The fact is that Oxycontin, when used correctly and responsibly, helps millions of people with chronic pain live normal lives. It's selfish addictive thinking that makes my addiction more important than their quality of life.
Avatar f tn It is hard to find real facts about fitness online, there is a lot of false information out there. First of all, it is losing fat, not weight. Weight also consists of your bones, tons of water, your internal organs, your joints and your muscles and you don't want to lose those things, I hope. Forget the quickest way, because obviously the quickest way to lose weight is also the quickest way to starve yourself to death. Hopefully you don't want to do that either.
Avatar f tn What are some important MUST KNOW baby facts that a first time mom needs to remember for when their child comes?
397560 tn?1220022177 My question is where can I find a book or something that tells me how many calories do I need a day and hpw many calories i take in every time I eat something? Thank you for your replies.
Avatar f tn I am not too familiar with blood alcohol, but I would think that maybe you could have been dehydrated and that could have caused the reading. Try drinking more water next time.
Avatar n tn I am 34, I weigh 260 and am about 5 ft 11'. I eat about 1500-2000 calories a day. I do drink a lot of coffee during the day though (5 cups during work week) I also tend to drink a lot of diet soda, but never regular. I occassionaly drink alcohol once or twice a week on weekend. but rum and diet soda. I do however walk back and forth to work about 2.7 miles each way 5 days a week, been doing this for 7 monthes (I lost 15 lbs from that, was 275 in March).
652671 tn?1353712165 I was searching around the internet for calorie calculators and every single one ive seen says that a woman my age, weight, height and activity level should consume at least 2500 - 2800 calories in a day to maintain my body weight and cut it by 500 calories a day to lose a pound a week with or without excersise. this is ludicrous! I have a 2 and 3 year old and i'm telling you, there are days when they eat more than i do. I don't even come close to 2000 calories a day.
Avatar m tn What are triglycerides? Triglycerides are a type of fat found in your blood. When you eat, your body converts any calories it doesn't need to use right away into triglycerides. The triglycerides are stored in your fat cells. Later, hormones release triglycerides for energy between meals. If you regularly eat more calories than you burn, you may have high triglycerides (hypertriglyceridemia). What's the difference between triglycerides and cholesterol?
