Dr. I am worried about possible HIV infection and confused by propability rates. I have had maybe 75-100 protected vaginal sex episodes with sex workers over the last 7.5 years. Most of these in Latin America and the Caribbean but one in Southern Africa and one in Sri Lanka.
I have never tested because I always used protection though sometimes drunk. So it is possible that I have been infected for up to 7 years.

I was contemplating the percentage chance i contracted the HIV virus and was wondering that if the chance of someone having the virus is combined with the chance of transmission is so low, why does the general media/public make it seem like aids is everywhere. No, it's just not common at all in India. It's not sub Saharan Africa. I said it wasn't likely that you'd get it in India, not that you wouldn't.
