1294692 tn?1272400469 ) If you do remove it, the other ovary would do the work of both. (Just be sure they see your other ovary on the MRI or ultrasound before you approve any course of action.) I'd ask my doc about getting an MRI of the painful side and at least an ultrasound of the other ovary to be sure it's there and looking fine, and then go ahead with some possible approaches.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am 28 years old and I had a laparotomy on 23rd December 2008 to remove a 10cm corpus luteum cyst on my right ovary which had ruptured. It all happened very fast for me. I experienced pain on the 21st December and was taken into hospital. I had no idea what was happening. I was given an internal ultrasound and then a CT scan. I was then told that the scan had shown something measuring 10cm on my right ovary but that they did not know what it was.
Avatar f tn Endometriosis would be something to look into with the bowel symptoms and painful intercouse you're now experiencing. Don't look for any answers on that one without another surgery. You might consider seeing a reproductive endochrinologist to have a thorough look at your hormones. If at all possible, find a gynecologist who does not also practice the OB side.
Avatar n tn Pain and discomfort on the lower left side of abdomen just below and to the left of navel can be due to several causes such as Crohn’s disease, colitis, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, adhesions, polycystic ovary in females, IBS, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle. Since you do not have a lump or a tender hot spot, in all probability it is not a muscle.
Avatar n tn I'm a 53 year old woman, and 7 weeks ago I had laproscopic surgery to remove a tennis ball sized cyst on my left ovary, as well as the ovary itself and fallopian tube. The doctor said the cyst was so large that it had adhered itself to the side of my uterus and the other side as well. She assured me after 2 weeks I could go back to work and would be 100% normal after 3 weeks. That has not been the case...
Avatar n tn I am 26 years old. I underwent an oophorectomy operation recently and my right ovary and tube were removed as i was diagonised with TOA (Tubo ovarian abscess)of 10 cms in size.Surprisingly i didnt have any other symptoms except frequent high fever and high WBC count and general weakness. A negligible/very mild pain was felt in the right abdomen.
Avatar f tn Which I did for a while until in October I started to have symptoms again. They patted me on the head and said you're 98% cured. Go home and eat more fibre. My appendix ruptured. Abscess....inflamed everything..peritonitis... emergency laporotomy.... Now I'm having those lovely digestive symptoms again... And occassionally a small amount of blood on tp after bm. Going to doc Wednesday next week. Anyone with anything of the appendix?
Avatar n tn It seems that any time I have sex, I am getting these UTI-like symptoms. I'm not sure what else to do, I'm on CIPRO right now. Any ideas??
Avatar n tn What do they mean by echogenic mass and hypoechoic mass? Currently, I am on seaonale and supress my cycle. I been on it for 6 weeks now. I was also told that is all they can do for now and we need to just keep monitoring it because it favors a benign process. I feel stabbing pain from time to time and I do have pain medication but I just hate waiting. Is there anything else I can do?

Could it really be endometriosis and the only option for me is birth control? I'm 37 with three kids. Thank you for your help.

468836 tn?1215479716 I've had an internal scan and they've found cysts on my ovaries, but i don't have polycystic ovary syndrome according to the tests by my doctors. They said this may be the reason for my stomach pain but it shouldn't be as bad as it is. If anyone can help me with a diagnosis i would be so so grateful as i can't work currently because of all these problems. Its very frustrating and upsetting to not be able to do things that i should be able to do.
Avatar n tn There are no tests that can tell if you have Behcet's. It is based on symptoms only. Vaginal symptoms that look like herpes (herpes causes inflammation, cuts, or sores), canker sores in the mouth at least three times per year, and inflammation in the blood vessels in the eyes. It can take years for enough of the symptoms to show up and they usually don't show up at the same time. You really need to fight for answers.
2106890 tn?1333956788 My left ovary has been hurting off and on and then sometimes my right as well. My left ovary was the one that was covered with endometriosis at the time of surgery and notice that I get more pain on that sign when I have a period. I figured it was from surgery and that is why I experience more pain on that side. My pupils have been noticable to others because my right one is way larger then my left one.
Avatar n tn and have seen many different locations for an abscess on the body and i have to say that the groin area is the most painful and most re-occuring location. I have assisted both Dr.s and P.A.s in lancing(making a small cut into the head of the abscess to release the pus) these painful abscesses. Here's the thing....if you've gotten one before----you're more prone to getting them again....
Avatar f tn He ran a CT scan that afternoon and they saw what they thought was an abscess on my right ovary. He got me to the GYN immediately Friday. She said she is not sure if it is a abscess or a cyst on my right ovary. Gave me some antibiotics and I am scheduled for an ultrasound today at 1:45 and dr visit at 3:30. I had a hysterectomy approx. 6 years ago but she left my ovaries because I was young. I found out at the visit on Friday that during the hyst. that she got rid of a cyst on the same ovary.
Avatar f tn I actually had a damaged uretha caused by an abscess burstingabove my left ovary which caused sepsis. I was extremely ill and ended up having a uretal stent for the past year and a total abdominal hysterectomy including ovaries in May of this year. Keep pestering the doctor!!

Avatar n tn Imaging tests for cysts can be confusing. I had a post menopausal cyst they said was on one ovary....in surgery they found it was on the opposite ovary. They only went on US and TVU to diagnose and my CA-125 was normal...but right on the high end of normal. TVU is a great harmless imaging test but not perfect. MRI and CT show a lot more, so if your doctor is pleased with those results that should mean you are fine. I cannot explain the pain you are feeling.
1511025 tn?1290136857 Ribs are very tender on both sides. It feels like somethings swollen, or there that shouldn't be. I cannot feel anything upon palpation- neither can my medical doctor or chiropractor. It can be painful at times, but mostly just uncomfortable. Sitting is uncomfortable, laying on my stomach is impossible. I have to lay on my right side most of the time to relieve the discomfort. Bowel movements are regular. No diarrhea.
Avatar f tn Pain on my right side where my appendics was, pain on my lower abdomen, pain on my lower back and also a constant urgency to urinate with unsuccessful evacuation. Its also sore when i sit on my bottom. I am really worried about it, my Dr said that the blood from the burst cyst is an irritant in my abdomen that could have caused adhesions on my bladder? He didn't seem too bothered and didn't examine me. Has anyone else experienced this?
Avatar f tn I had a vaginal ultrasound done and discovered there was a large cyst on my right ovary. After another 3 months I went into surgery and once again I thought by removing what was painful would take me back to my normal state-pain free and happy. I was wrong yet again. 4 months after surgery I still have pain on my right side. I had another ultrasound done today and my dr called with results: fluid build up where the ovary was. Can anyone tell me what that means?
Avatar n tn there are occasions that a person would need to have an abscess drained or the ovary removed You should set up an appointment to see your surgeon for an evaluation. You should check your temperature and to check for fever. if you have a temperature over 101 F, you need to go to the emergency room.
231903 tn?1281486184 Hence there is a high chance of these. There could be an accompanying UTI. A kidney abscess too will cause similar symptoms but will present with a higher fever. The other possibility is that the ovarian cyst has got twisted. The third possibility of endometriosis can be considered if you have pain only around your periods. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do discuss this with your doctor (urologist) and get yourself examined. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I was not relieved with the prescribed medicine thats why an ultrasound was done. I have 7cm cyst on the left ovary and 4 cm on the right. I had a CA 125 of >600 U/mL. My surgery is scheduled on March 8 and my ob gyne said that my left ovary has to be removed and the right one will be preserved. A frozen section will be conducted to determine whether the mass is cancerous. If so, my appendix, lymph nodes, etc will be removed. I ask the doctor whats the cutoff for ovary removal.
Avatar f tn Hello, My symptoms are: I have a constant, dull pain in my lower right abdomen. Earlier the pain increased feeling like something moving or a wave of pain/cramp. That is gone but the tenderness remains. It feels sore when I press that area. Current medications: Allegra, Penicillin for strep throat History: I had my appendix removed nearly 30 years ago. It think it is past my usual time for ovulation. I have had a kidney stone before. About 16 years ago I had a kidney infection.
