Avatar m tn A year and a hal f ago a had an abscess on my vagina and had to go into surgery. I later took another one but antibiotics cleared it. I have now took another one and have just finished two antibiotics and it still hasnt gone away. Will I have to go into hospital again and why am I taking these.
Avatar f tn I went to the doctor last Wednesday, and the doctor told me it was an abscess and gave me antibiotics. The bump had popped exposing pus and a little blood on Friday. The pain went away but the size never went down. The next day it was a little bit smaller. On Sunday I realized the bump was getting bigger again, but this time there was no pain. Today it popped again this time it was just straight pus and at the end it was blood. They were not mixed together.
Avatar n tn I still need 2 crowns upper right, and one crown lower right with a few more cavities filled. My dentist says there is no signs of dental abscess, but I have been having a lot of bad symptoms that seem to be getting worse. I feel really ill all the time. All my teeth hurt, It comes, and goes for what seems like no reason at all. My face feels tight, and puffy sometimes. My eyes burn. I get headaches, and sensitivity to light.
Avatar m tn Hello, A dental examination is necessary for correct diagnosis and management of your condition. A tooth abscess is usually a complication of tooth decay. Prompt treatment can save the tooth and a root canal may be recommended in an attempt to save the tooth. Untreated abscesses may get worse and can lead to life-threatening complications.
Avatar f tn A tooth abscess is usually a complication of tooth decay. In a dental abscess, or tooth abscess there is accumulation of pus inside the teeth or gums. The abscess usually originates from a bacterial infection and is mostly caused by a dental infection. The common presenting complaints are severe toothache, breath odour, fever, pain when chewing, sensitivity to hot or cold, swelling of gums, swollen glands etc.

Avatar f tn he told me it is an abscess abscess is caused by bacterial or parastic infection thats why he gave me antibiotics but i am afraid that it may spread that's why i am asking if the surgery is important or no?
Avatar n tn Like I said before, if the symptoms continue, a vet visit is a good idea for antibiotics and a firm diagnosis. Otherwise, if there are no more symptoms, then it's probably already resolved. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Hello, Various reasons for recurrent or persistent infection are incomplete treatment, treatment resistance when only one drug is used, co-existing dermatitis, diabetes and low immunity. For your symptoms, culture sensitivity and FNAC (fine needle aspiration cyrtology) needs to be done. FNAC is aspiration of the material of the glands which is done by a fine gauge needle (22 or 25 gauge) and a syringe.
Avatar n tn The s/sx progressed to sinus pressure swollen glands, cough runny nose with yellow sputum from cough and nasal. I began to feel better so nixed Dr. visit as my insurance had not started. Two days ago I began having swelling in my gums. Yesterday I found a discolored area on my gums above my front right tooth. Avatar f tn Hello, The symptoms are suggestive of boils. Apply warm compresses on the boil and keep the area clean. Drainage of the boil is done only when it becomes soft and forms a head. Take some over the counter pain reliever and consult a doctor for examination and antibiotics prescription. If there are recurrent boils, then please get your blood sugar levels estimated.
Avatar f tn Hello, A complete clinical examination is extremely important for correct diagnosis and treatment. A persistent middle ear infection can cause brain abscess. Untreated and incompletely treated ear infections also put you at risk of a brain abscess. If you have been taking antibiotics the chances of developing complications like brain abscess are very unlikely.
Avatar f tn Treatment includes antibiotics and incision and drainage and do not touch or pick them up. Also apply warm compresses on the lump. If however the symptoms persist then get lymphadenopathy ruled out from your doctor. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar n tn my husband had a huge abscess on his left frontal lobe, that along with the inflamation and fluid encompassed the majority of the area. Six weeks prior to finding this and the subsequent surgery, he was laid off from his job. 2 days following that he made an irrrational impulsive reaction by changing a password in a computer system so they could not log into the files until they figured out what happened(it took a few hours I guess).
Avatar n tn Only full resolution of symptoms and careful examination are sufficient to exclude the diagnosis of breast cancer. Lifetime risk for breast cancer is significantly reduced for women who were pregnant and breastfeeding. Mastitis episodes do not appear to influence lifetime risk of breast cancer. Mastitis does however cause great difficulties in diagnosis of breast cancer and delayed diagnosis and treatment can result in worse outcome.
Avatar n tn I never knew that was what caused my fissures, resulting abscess and fistula- these symptoms are what tipped my Dr.s off. I have only dealt with one abscess and currently I have one open draining fistula. I am going to begin Remicade next month in an attempt to close my fistula, w/o doing surgery. I have some reservations because this very med that can *help* heal fistulas, can also lower your immune system even more and make you prone to infections and more abscesses.
Avatar f tn it was growing on day by day..after going on for diagnosis , i came to know that i am suffering from cold abscess..i was being operated & about 750 ml of pus was drained away from my lower back side..i am under complete medications but before i came to know about this lump i was also suffereing from sever allergy...after proper test i came to know about the reason of this allergy,,the main problem for the increasing allergy was MILK & MILK PRODUCT..
Avatar n tn I have questions about a recent diagnosis I received. I'll try and make it brief. SInce November '08 I had a number of anonymous, unprotected sex contacts with other men. All involved mutual oral sex. In January I noticed a lesion on the shaft of my penis at the glans. The lesion was not painful and I treated it with an over-the-counter antibiotic cream for a week. At the same time I scheduled an appointment with the local health department.
Avatar n tn The symptoms of this 20 y.o. otherwise healthy, thin (180#; 5'11") male are 2 weeks c/o nausea, intermittent, worse after eating, c/o bloating. No abdominal pain. Onset after beach week, crabs and grilled food; recent (this summer) history of wisdom tooth infection, strept throat, and ingrown toenail abscess. Recent (2 weeks) weight loss of 10 pounds. (2) doctor visits resulted in RX for phenergan, zofran, and most recently a 2 week course of Prilosec. Any ideas on next steps?
Avatar n tn My doctor diagnosed folliculitis, but now I am getting a little nevous - my symptoms are perfect for hydradenitis so I have asked to go see a deramtologist. I am Canadian so I have outstanding healthcare by comparison to the typical American. But I must admit, when I told my doctor about my self-diagnosis, he initially said that all that is prescribed is a 10 day course of antibiotics - ok because I realize there are no therapies presently beyond addressing the secondary infection.
Avatar n tn Is it normal to see this doctor before diagnosis? What could I expect? They don't treat unless they are absolutely sure it is there, right?
Avatar m tn Wat r the causes, symptoms, treatments. ,diagnosis. ?? he is not addicted to alcohol.. is it curable..or dangerous..? plz help me ASAP. 09891265076.
Avatar n tn So we brought her in again and the doctor found an abscess in her mouth and the tooth that hurt her in August was a bit grey. We went right to the dentist and he said the nerve was dead, she needed a root canal. Her jaw pain is almost gone but she is still extremely fatigued, and has shortness of breath even when doing stairs. She had bloodwork done and her c-reactive protein is elevated. She had an EKG and it showed left atrium enlarged. We are waiting to get in to see the cardiologist.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, for 5 years I've been haunted by this abscess in my groin/labia. It comes and goes, sometimes it's gigantic (REALLY) and sometimes just a painful, red, inflamed, deep seated "nodule" (so it doesn't disfigure me completely, but still makes it awfully painful to walk). I had the abscess drained at the hospital once (never again, the anestesia hurt like hell and did not numb the area at all... urgh!) and the material (the pus) was sent for culture....
Avatar f tn Have just been diagonsed with GM with abscess after almost 6 mths. It actually started as Fibrodenomas in April 10'.. That settled down with Evening Primrose and Vit E.         In Sept 10' one day I got to see this horrifying looking lump above the areola which was tender, sore and dark in colour. I visited a General Surgeon after 8 days (thinking it would disappear on its on in between).
Avatar f tn 4 weeks ago I had what felt like an abscess in my rectum. After a few days I went to the toilet and passed out a bit of blood and what looked like an abscess. I went to the doctors the next day and he said that the bleeding looks like it's coming from further up and not near my rectum. After that I had a day of passing small amounts of blood and after that bowel movements were normal, no blood or diarhhea just a bit of mucus.

Avatar m tn It's a pretty long list so it helps to explain why it may take so long to reach a diagnosis.
