I took abilify and began to have muscle spasms in my jaw. It felt as if all my teeth were having an extremely bad toothache. All the muscles are constantly in spasm and it has leaded to unbearable "temple" headaches. This has been going on for almost 6 years now and the pain is 24/7. I started out at the dentist because I thought it might be due to grinding or an abscess. Then to the neurologist that has given me so many meds to try with no avail.
(have been on said meds for about 5 years). her 2 suggestions are abilify and ziprasidone--i know nothing about either of these meds and would greatly appreciate any info. and input you may have. Does anyone know much about the drug Abilify? I have been taking the lexapro for a few weeks, and not sure that it is the right drug for me. About four days after I started taking it I felt really stranged, confused, depressed. I started the med for anxiety/panic. Not feeling as bad now, but still alittle down. I took lexapro a year ago for just about a month, but did not have this side affect. The dr said we could either change antidepressants of try taking .5 of the lexapro and 2.
I felt compelled to write you. My 9 year old son started an eye blinking tic at 3 and was diagnosed with Tourette's at 4. His vocal tic was also throat clearing. Since then, he has also had a "humming" tic, but that's it for the vocals so far.
In our case diet does make a difference. Our son's tics worsen when he is tired or stressed. Therefore we try to make everything as steady as possible for him.
I am wondering about Abilify instead of Geodone. What is your experience with this drug? Does it work as well as the atypicals? It should for how much it costs. I also take lamotrigine 200mg/day and trazodone 50mg for sleep.
Hello, well ive been to therapy before and they said that I could possibly be bipolar after i explained what i go through. They gave me a trial for abilify which i didnt take because i was scared to. I was still depressed though and started smoking marijuana heavily, I hate that I made a dependance on the one drug thats not addictive.
s and found little to no relief or too many odd side effects. my doctor jutst prescibed Abilify. I am so scared to take it. When i looked up the medicine on line it is for bi polar and
schizophrenia. Yes I do have deppresion and anxiety but she said in low does this is a different class of medicines and it maight help. Does anyone else take this medicine ...... i am so scared right now, i dont know what to do????? Any suggestion or information would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!
Have also just went from taking cymbalta and abilify to the effexor and abilify, but went off the abilify because of the weight gain. Dr wanted me to try wellbutrin and go off the effexor, but don't think it was working. Now I'm really confused on what works. For a couple days of being off the wellbutrin and on 150 of effexor i fealt great. But 3 days later i feel horible again.
I would encourage you to do some research on this drug as well as read the responses you will get here. This drug, Abilify, was approved originally by the FDA only when all other drugs had failed to work, if my memory serves. The reason was it had a lot of side effects and didn't work all that well for most people. It's an antipsychotic; do you suffer a psychosis?
A good thyroid doctor will treat a hypo patient clinically by testing and adjusting Free T4 and Free T3 levels as needed to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH. However, you may well need to address your low cortisol before even starting on thyroid med.
I would suggest that you get tested for Both Free T4 and Free T3 each time you go in for tests. Also, you should get tested for Vitamin D, B12, ferritin, and DHEA.
