abilify and cholesterol

I am suppose to get my blood checked and your doctor should jave requested that for you too. To check you sugar levels and cholesterol, because if you are suspectible Abilify could cause a spike in those levels.

Any one on Klonopin and abilify for depression and anxiety...Does any one take thesse natural products witht them.

I take Zoloft and Abilify for bipolar disorder. My sugar levels were heightened due to Abilify, but I am now taking Metfforman to level out my sugar level because Abilify has the ability to heighten sugar levels. I am not a diabetic. Does cholesterol have anything to do with this cramping?

I want her to just take the sam e and to re-start taking her cholesterol medicine again. Her current cholesterol numbers are terrible without taking the cholesterol med. She was taken off of it because the rhabdomylisis. Her rhabdomylisis numbers are still bad with just the xyprexa. I want a new test done with cholesterol medicine and no xyprexa. I suspect that it will be OK. I suspect the xyprexa is the main cause.

I also take a small amount of liquid Abilify and Clonazapam. I just started taking liquid fish oil and I think it's affecting my meds. Could it be affecting the medication that I take? Causing side effects? I'm feeling angry, a little depressed and annoyed since I started doing the fish oil. I have high cholesterol, so I want to take the the fish oil. Does anyone have any answers or suggestions.

It wasn't nearly as bad as you describe, but if I remember correctly it took about 3 weeks for the askasthia to go away when I started Abilify. If you haven't exhausted all other atypicals and it is over the 3 week mark, I would strongly insist on trying another antipsychotic. Ziprexa was a wonder drug for my brain. It was so quiet. Like a beautiful sandy beach. Unfortunately it didn't like my cholesterol. Spiked my triglicerides off the charts on a fairly low dose.

Antidepressants and antipsychotics shouldn't b stopped suddenly. Iv been on both of these meds-need to wean down and ull b more successful coming off them.

I have BPII and decided after 8 yrs and extra 15lbs. on Abilify, to go off. Pdoc agreed and started weaning me off while titrating me up on Lamictal. I’m only on 25mg. Go up to 50mg in another week. Down to approx 1.5mg Abilify now. Feel HORRIBLE. Also on Zoloft 100mg. Having racing thoughts, anxiety, mood swings, bone pain and sweats. From what I’ve read, this is Abilify withdrawal. Do I just have to feel awful until Lamictal dose is high enough to be therapeutic? Thanks!!

I tried to stop taking zoloft and abilify about three months ago. I tapered off the zoloft and stopped the abilify cold turkey, per doctor's advice. I had mild side effects for the first month and then totally crashed. Needless to say, I called my doctor in desperation and was represcribed both medications. I feel much better, but am still very serious about stopping the medications sooner than later.

What you experience may be quite different from what everyone has posted. You might take Abilify and find that you have no side effects and it helps you and you will continue to take it. You might find that you get side effects that you can't tolerate and then you will quit it. The only way to find out is by trying it.

I have only started the Abilify so far on day 3 … I was supposed to start together but I dropped the pristiq bottle and pills fell on floor now because of contamination ocd I can’t take them and insurance won’t pay for a refill yet so doctor says just take the Abilify for now , I’m noticing it is helping me to change my behavior versus the ssri just kinda helped me manage my existing behaviors but never had courage or motivation to change my behaviors so I’m hoping that’s where Abilify will come

Hello, I took abilify for five years, One thing is that when you take ablilify it is added with another medication usually, and i lost all of my hair while taking it but not because of they abilify, it was from the depicote or what ever-eles i took, but after i got off the depecote, my hair grew back my hair is growing now, but if you havent took it very long you may be having other side effects like the shaking, i will say that dose go away and you get very much better..

There is a connection with taking Abilify and acne .

He started abilify 10mgs and seems fine now after many monyhs of non-treatment and pychosis.

I was stress eating, because I moved across country to a new state. I'm trying to break the habit and become a vegan. But, I ate a pint of Ben and Jerry's again tonight. My dad, uncle and aunt are now all vegans. They are suggesting this as an option for me. I want to try it.

Did you ask your pharmacist if abilify and ambien and any other meds you might be taking, including OTC meds, might be interacting to cause you to feel like this? Sometimes pharmacists know more about adverse drug interactions than dr's. Just a thought.

Are you saying you were put on Abilify before you were put on Celexa? Because if you've only been on Celexa a few days, Abilify wouldn't be appropriate. It's only a last resort medication because of its side effect profile and because it isn't known to work by itself, only in combination with another med. If, for example, you have depression, and you're on medication and its helping but not quite enough and you've tried everything else, that's what Abilify is for.

When I looked up weight gain and bipolar medications, Abilify was at the bottom of the list for weight gain, Geodon people gained the least then Abilify. I'm on 2mg. of Abilify and in the begining you tend to feel sleepy, that's why they start you on it at bedtime. I would be surprised if Abilify caused a racing heart but you definately have to tell your doc about that. I was also on Wellbutrin and had to come off because it caused to much anxiety.

Now the abilify, I was suppose to increase from 2 mg today to 4mg, I wanted to tknow if 2 mg was a thereaputic dose and also can I take have of that and take 1 mg since Im so sensititve and that might work, Its been keeping me up at night the abilify, makes my mind and body racy and alert...Waiting for my dr to call back, but sometimes that doesnt happen......

Any medication can sometimes take a week or two or longer to take full effect while some will take effect instantaneously. It all depends on the person of course. When I took Geodon I sometimes would "drool and stumble" figuratively for the former (felt really dumb some days) and literally for the latter (dragged my feet and sometimes felt drunk).

I have just started taking Aripiprazole(Abilify) and have found it to have some beneficial effects on my mood. However I am also finding myself to be extremely drowsy. I have heard that this side effect wears off with time. Has anyone else experienced this? It's the first antipsychotic I've taken that's had any effect so I don't want to stop it but the fact I can literally go to sleep while standing up is making my life difficult.
