He has done quite well with Allegra for seasonal allergies, and even better with Zyrtec. Zyrtec is OTC but allegra is not. Both are well tolerated with Risperdal. Benaadryl is not good with Risperdal. My son, age 17, is zonked out when he takes both. He basically is out like a light and doesn't wake up in the morning (until about 12 hours later) the few times he has taken it. Not good at all. Claritin does not work for him either, nor anyone in my family.
You should make sure that your dr is well aware of how much of these meds you are taking to make sure that they are ok with any other medications you maybe taking. If you have other conditions take other meds that cause dehydration, you would be at a higher risk. So talk to your dr.
t eat or drink anything for 30-60 minutes. Other medications should be separated from levo by at least an hour or they can interfere with absorption.
Supplements, especially, those containing calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc and other minerals should be separated from thyroid meds by, at least, 4 hours.

It may cause CNS depression, which may impair physical or mental abilities. your symptoms are suggestive of insomnia. It is seen in less than 2 % of adults who are on such medication. It is important to categorize the type of insomnia, which can be done after noting detailed history.
Hi, it sounds like you have had quite an ordeal with these allergies! i also have allergies, but mine were bad enough that i developed asthma and had to go on several medications to get it under control, now i only take zyrtec as needed. i don't know about allergies that are "digested first" with zyrtec, everyone has different reactions- but zyrtec is systemic so it should be help equally with your sore throat and itching.
As far as I know, Zyrtec is not one of the medications used for anxiety or impulse control (usually it is one of the SSRI's) but I read on the internet that this medication can have a postive effect on anxiety. Nonetheless, if your daughter is suffering from some form of anxiety and/or impulse behaviour, there are better medications for these issues. I doubt if the dermatillomania and her sensitivity to allergies are related. Hope this helps ....
I was also advised to take Zyrtec and wondered if Zyrtec had any more benefit for skin reactions thank Claritin. Claritin didn't help at all. Two dermatologists suggested Zyrtec over Claritin . I hesitate to try the Zyrtec as I took it once a few years ago and promptly feel into a deep sleep. If it is better for the skin than Claritin can it be taken at night and do any good?

Allergies can cause dry spots on a dogs skin, hot spots is there common termonology, and it is allergy season. My pooch would get them along with other itchy and swollen symptoms. Now he gets zyrtec everyday and the spots and other symptoms have all but disappeared. Check the skin in his ears, and around his belly. If you notice red blotches, I would suspect allergies. Consult a reputable vet to be sure. Good luck.

t know of any problem with taking Zyrtec-D with Plavix. You can also read your medication leaflets with the medications to check or check with your pharmacist.
If you are being treated for high blood pressure or heart disease/vascular problem, I would NOT recommend taking the Zyrtec-D WITHOUT discussing this with your physician.
Hello, for about three years I have been experiancing the need to constantly clear my throat.This happens more days than not. My PCP presribes antibotics, my allergist prescibes, zyrtec and nasonex, my gastroenterlogists prescribes dexilant. Last week my ENT scoped my throat and nose and stated he could not find any problem, but suggested it could be non-acidic reflux. Last year I had the stomach endoscope and the gastroenterlogist said he did not find anything to cause these symptoms.
5 mg,last night i looked into my medicine bag and i was out of zyprexa,i thought that id skip one dose,so i took the rest without zyprexa,i overslept today and didnt feel like going out all day,now when i woke up all the pharmacies are closed so ill have to make do with the remaining medications without zyprexa for one night more,ill wake up at 8 30 and at 9 when the pharmacy opens should i just take zyprexa 5 mg immediately in the morning or wait till night and take it with my remaining medicat
m allergic to Allegra-D, and Zyrtec makes me feel like a zombie. Hot water with lemon seems to help my throat, but it seems the condition just doesn't want to go away, no matter what I do.
Is there any medication that actually works reducing swelling, inflammation, etc..... All suggestions/experience appreciated.
Oh and allergist told me to take aspirin when my throat swells, but aspirin doesn't help either.
i have had the same dry cough, sometimes with phlegm and this has helped me a lot with it.. i also have asthma and it helped with that too. when i get the cough i take a large glass of water with 1/2 tsp of salt and it breaks up the mucous and stops the cough. Very good site though I would defiately check it out.
He told me to stop taking the zyrtec and ordered liver function tests. Well, tests came back with high enzymes and bilirubin and he told me to stop taking ALL medications. Ordered an ultrasound which he said was negative, and ordered the blood work again. He seems to think it's liver damage due to drug toxicity. Problem is, he doesn't seem to be able to tell me what I should be doing, other than not taking my meds, to get healthy again.
Can I take allergy medications?
If positive, an appropriate treatment can be implemented. The are oral medications that can be prescribed, other than steroids, that may help as well.
I always try to find alternatives to long term steroid use due to the potential side effects.
