I've been waking up for about 8 months straight with a sore throat and itchy ears. I went and seen a doctor about this and was told I have allergies, I was perscribed the generic for singulair for 10 days, and zyrtec for about 2 weeks to see if I got better. I opted to take the medicine at night (tonight)...and i can't sleep and my throat is so dry even after water. I really dis like medicine...I get anxious...what are some other options to feel better?... HELP!
She said she doubted very much that I contracted anything and that I needed anxiety medicine. She told me to take Zyrtec for my throat cause she didn't see anything and prescribed me nystain for yeast in the mouth because I had been on so many antibiotics from the first doctor visit. 10 weeks after any possible exposure my tonsils have become more swollen with white patches on them, it really isn't the most painful sore throat I have ever had but I'm worried that I am positive.
I am 36+5 and I've been sick with a bad cold about three times and there's not much they will let ya do... Plus I have a heart condition so on top of that, the medicine they would let me take, I couldn't! Lol the best thing they gave me was Zyrtec. I know it's for allergies, but it helped. Other than that I sucked on cough drops constantly or sat in the bathroom with a warm
Shower runnin to help clear me out.
Hey. I have been experiencing a sore throat for five weeks now. It is not painful what so ever. It's red and inflamed back in my throat and there are obvious red spots on throat. Sometimes white builds ups on there. Sometimes I will get a rash that comes up for a few minutes then go away. Those are the only symptoms I can think of. The doctor tested for strep and it was negative. I do have seasonal allergies and was wondering why I have a sore throat for so long.
I've had a sore throat for three months with no other symptoms. In April, I went to Urgent Care, because it felt like my throat was on fire it was so unbelievably sore. After being tested I was told that I thankfully do not have strep throat. She prescribed me medication called Loratadine, which I began taking once a day and suggested taking a Benadryl every night before bed.

e post nasal drip. symptoms like Swallowing constantly , sore throat, mouth sore and hoarse voice are common.
You can use some OTC antihistaminic like Benadryl or zyrtec. You can also use some nasal decongestants but use them for few days only. corticosteroids nasal spray can also be used. You can also use saline nasal sprays or steam inhalation at home. In severe cases, Immunotherapy is advised. If it doesn’t help you please visit to your physician. Hope it helps.
i'm 16 weeks today. woke up all stuffy an sore throat for the past week. I read this happens an are some symptoms.
t clear it so I was put on cefdinir pus pockets are gone and my throat is no longer sore, however I have whitish grey flat patches in my throat on both sides just behind my back teeth. 2nd dr I went to tested me and I tested positive for yeast she gave me Nystatin for 10 days and patches are still there. 3rd dr after looking at my throat said I did not have oral thrush I have tried to scrape these patches off but they are adhered firmly to my mouth.
Now I still have the feeling of something being stuck and am spitting the white stuff but I also have constant throat pain like a sore throat ALL the time, around the clock!!!!!! Also there is a feeling of dryness in my throat and mouth!!! Nothing gives me relief!!! I saw 3 ENT doctors and they all said my throat looks normal. They had me take antibiotics and even some kind of steroid but that didn't help!! I went to 2 gastroenterologists thinking it might be acid reflux causing the pain...
So I'm 20 wk pregnant today! I can't seem to get rid of this cold. I have no fever and my throat is not sore but I can't stop coughing and sneezing. It's all in my head causing headaches and mild ear aches. What can I take? All I want to do is stay in bed and sleep! Please help.. being sick and pregnant is the absolute worst!
Could it be allergies? Everything I hear about allergies tho are itchy throat not sore throat - sometimes it hurts to bad I don't even want to swallow. It gets worse mid-afternoon and evening. I've gotten my air vents cleaned today to see if that will help for allergies and I picked up Zyrtec to try that as well.....
Any suggestions on what it could be or should I just suck it up and go back to the clinic???!!!!
