689528 tn?1364135841 s control, like this time of year ,he gets a prednisone per day for 3 or 4 days and then every other day for two or until things calm down. Zyrtec can be expensive, but we actually found a generic brand at the dollar store! $1. for 14 pills, so we clear their shelves! Our poor boy suffered until we found this new vet, every other night, we would do oatmeal baths, benedryl cream, benedryl pills, alcohol rubs, ice.. it was heartbreaking. We can totally relate.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have a question. For a very long time I have had flu like symptoms - with only a low grade fever that comes and goes. It it usually when the weather changes and gets colder or goes up and down. Typically the all over aches, tiredness and extremity swelling are the worst. I just went to the doctors today and he prescribed Zyrtec saying he thinks this is allergies. Does this sound right?
Avatar f tn If your numbers are extremely high you need to go to the ER because you might have DKA (which presents similar to the flu). There are also strips you can get to check for ketones in your urine if your numbers are very high. (as in 300+). I hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn Some allergy medicines are ok, like Claritin and Zyrtec. I'm not sure about the nasal ones though.
Avatar f tn If its allergies you cam take benadryl or zyrtec also. Ive been congested for 2 months straight.
Avatar f tn I have been on Celexa for awile and have never had to pass up another needed med because of it. I take omeprazole, also and did take Zyrtec for awhile, but it made me sleepy. I really wouldn't be anxious about interactions with OTC meds. Most of their labels will tell you what not to take them with. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn My allergies have bothered me on and off this season... I even had the flu... I took Vicks for allergies only after I got the ok from my doc... I took it about every 5-6 hours around the clock 4 about 2 days and then it was fine... hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I was told to take zyrtec. Now I have a rash on my upper thighs. Is it the generic zyrtec? Would the regular Zyrtec do the same? Have you ever heard of Diamox being prescribed for Meneire's disease? I find nothing in the literature about it and am hesitant to take it as it makes me very tired. I need to sleep about 3 hours a day when I take it. I don't want to experience vertigo again.
1472764 tn?1287588186 My OB said I can take Benedryl, Claritin or Zyrtec (I am allergic to Claritin and Zyrtec gives me headaches so am taking Benedryl). Allegedly, Chlor-trimeton is safe until the 3rd trimester (that is what I usually take) but I decided it is better safe and sleepy with Benedryl :) My nurses' drug book lists them all as Pregnancy Category B, the same as Tylenol.
Avatar f tn I know how you feel i had the same thing happen to me im19 weeks im still trying to get over my cough...
Avatar f tn I been coughing for 5 days now due to the flu. I'm 17wks. I been taking cough drops and drinking tea.I really can't take meds (high risk). I will be glad when it's over. Coughing alot does make you pee your pants. Hope you feel better soon. Call your doctor also to see if you can take something.
358304 tn?1409709492 feeling a tad better today, not much appetite, but im gonna keep taking the zyrtec for a while, clear up this post nasal drip. That should help the problem. I'm leaving work here in a bit, just to lay down and rest. I feel wore out from yesterday. Thanks for your response.
Avatar n tn Allergies maybe. Take some Zyrtec or Benydryll, or Nyquil before you go to bed. If it is allergies, it will get better within two days.
Avatar m tn This year, after spending the night at a room full of dust and -without my knowledge- cat hair, I went to the hospital because I found it hard to breathe for more than 16 hours (not dying for air but still very tormenting), Zyrtec not working and Symbicort hardly helping. They gave me oxygen and monitored me till the morning of the next day (I stayed the night).
Avatar f tn I hear your pain and am sorry for the health issues you have had to face. Had a very bad reaction to the H1N1 vacc and have been posting over on Chap. 2 and the Path to Recovery...it has been a nightmare for many. I have been flat on my back for 6 weeks and counting... I have read stories about the same reaction as you - hives and serious allergy like symptoms. Hope you are better now.
Avatar n tn My bowel movement is basically back to normal now and my fever is gone for the most of the time except it will flare up for the past few days around 7pm, back to 99.5ish until next morning, along with bad neck and head pain. I do have congestion and dry cough but that could also be my allergies recently. I just had my annual physical done and everything is normal on my bloodwork (CBC, liver panel and kidney function) What could I got? Is it a flu or something?
10249912 tn?1409002811 When I got the flu my doctor told me I could take Zyrtec for the congestion and robitussin for my throat and of course Tylenol for any pain or headache
Avatar n tn Should we try the Zyrtec? I am scared that this is only going to get worse and I feel so sorry for her. Whenever her lip swells people talk about her. I had been giving her Benadryl when the lips swell but is that really helping her since it is not truly an allergy? I have a friend that says she has the same thing and she takes Zyrtec and Pepcid at night, she says it is the combination of the 2 drugs, and then when her lip swells she has to take Prednisone.
Avatar f tn Don't take anything. Nothing is proven to be safe for the baby. My doc told me I could take tylanol if I wanted bit I didn't like the tone in his voice...so I just stuck with water and lemon or decaffeinated tea.
Avatar f tn //www.healthline.com/health/childrens-health/zyrtec-child-allergies#talk-with-your-doctor Flonase is a bit different. I assume you were also buying that over the counter? This too is generally regarded as safe but is recommended to only be used 2 months out of the year unless your doctor has said otherwise. It's a nasal steroid. These have been associated with usually insignificant slowing of growth. https://www.post-gazette.
Avatar f tn For your congestion you can take claratin or benedryl. You cant take nyquil. You can take tylenol pm but make sure its not the rapid release kind. I would not take all of these together. Pick one to take. Hope u get some rest.
Avatar f tn I got the ok on zyrtec during pregnancy from my allergist, OB, and pharmacist. I am positive that zyrtec is ok.
Avatar m tn i take zyrtec, allegra and alervert all day every day as my doctor told me for my hives .some days its real bad and others are very good. ive had no effects from the mixture.
460830 tn?1347219306 ), but I never have had any problem with taking a normal dose of Zyrtec...if I go ahead and take a Zyrtec, and it turns out that I did already take one, would it do any harm?
