I have had migraines for the past 20 years, normally I experience 3 or 4 migraines a year but since I have been taking Sertraline I have had many more than usual. I am sure that it is the Sertraline because I normally take it before bed and have woke up several mornings with the leftover pain from the migraine I had while sleeping ( before Sertraline I have never had a migraine during the night ).

It is 2011 and i have found my way back to sertraline. I am currently taking 10mg of buspirone 2x day and 15mg of mirtazapine for major depression and generalized anxiety. I have been feeling constantly tired, apathetic and despondent.

I have been taking Amitriptyline for a while for depression and pain but 6 weeks ago I suffered a stroke and my depression is worse so was given Sertraline along with the other.

Do you think taking an extra tablet of 100 mg is a big deal that i should go to the emergency for or just leave it until my body clear it ? please advise.

this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......

but we all respond differently to these medications and it may just take a little longer for you. What you experienced in the beginning was your body adjusting to the medication and is normal, and Antidepressants can cause tremors in our hands as well. I would contact your doctor again about the tremors in your hands because these won't go away so long as you're on this medication....he should know this! See what he has to say and if he still blows you off...

Here's part of the problem -- it takes about 4-6 weeks to notice if a med is going to work or not. Side effects, however, start immediately, because all these meds are artificial to the body. Twitching is a common side effect of antipsychotics, but not so much with antidepressants, but we're all different. Sertraline has a higher dose for working than Paxil because the drug are different. Sertraline usually starts its therapeutic dose at 100mg. Some do well at 50. The sertraline lol now I take celexa and its not really making me feel too different from the sertraline but, im always all over my bf now ahaha and as for the anxiety the sertraline basically killed that monster lol

t a question - as I have read countless posts trying to determine if my reactions to the drug were normal. I am posting for those who are struggling for the first 2-3 weeks of it. I am just starting week 3 on Sertraline. The first 2 1/2 were difficult. The problem when dealing with anxiety, everything is magnified. I found my self anxious over every side effect. But as I read through countless posts regarding Zoloft, I realized it is all part of the drug settling in.

When I wake in the morning I am hit with a huge sense of dread, nausea, palpitations, shaking. I hate going to bed in the evening because I know what the morning will bring. Is it normal to feel so physically unwell from it? I had Covid a month ago which probably hasn’t helped. I’m a 35yr old mum of two, I’m slim, my blood work is normal although I do often have low vitamin D and ferritin.

There is a large group of SSRI's (Zoloft is one) used for lessening the anxiety in social phobia. The rule of medication is "to go low and go slow" - referring to the dose and the time between increases (if required). I agree with the above poster - maybe another alternative medication might be wise. Could you research this on the internet and take your new-found information to your doctor?

I think i have just been looking for some reassurance that the way i have been feeling for so long is down to the subs. I can normally get through my depression with natural methods, exersize.e.t.c. Thanks for your help. any suggestions will be appreciated.

(I didnt have vision issues). What I determined was that the time of day made a huge difference for me. As you know, Provigil doesnt start working until about 5 hours after you take it. What I would do, then (as crazy as it sounds) is set my alarm for about 4:30AM, take my Provigil, then by about 9 or 10AM, I had the energy I needed. My severe pain issues made it necessary for me to get off my feet for a bit during the day, and this was about the time the provigil would wear off.
