I thought it was odd to she was against prescribing Wellbutrin XL for major depression. I would like to present literature, or something to her so she can change my prescription to Wellbutrin XL. I know taking reg Wellbutrin I am not good with taking more than one pill per day. Also I have heard the regular Wellbutrin, it is too much of a dose at once causing more side effects such as anxiety, shakiness, etc.
My doc prescribed Wellbutrin XL since the Lexapro made my depression even worse, excessive sleeping, etc. My question is - can I still take 1 mg of Klonopin to help with anxiety, prevent panic attacks?
I've taken Wellbutrin before for a bad depression and know that it makes a person more energetic but also jittery at times.
Any advice? Could I combine Lexapro 10 mg with the Wellbutrin XL 150 mg?

If you have trouble sleeping, remember to take WELLBUTRIN XL in the morning. Do not change your dose or stop taking WELLBUTRIN XL without talking to your doctor.
I was very recently prescribed Wellbutrin XL, after trying several medications that have not helped [including Wellbutrin SR]. When I saw my doctor, she simply said 'I'm putting you on Wellbutrin twice daily' and I assumed it would be the SR. But what I was given was XL, with the instructions to take it twice a day [morning and around noon]. My doctor's office is closed today, or I would have asked her. I did ask the pharmacist, and he said that yes, this is okay.

Does Wellbutrin become ineffective after long term use? Do people develop anger issues over time? One doctor told me that these effects are felt early, but would not present after years of use, and today a Psychiatrist told me that my recent emotional (angry) responses were caused by the Wellbutrin and that I needed to change to Lexapro. A perfectly normal person without any past seizure activity does not run a risk of having seizures from Wellbutrin. However if you drink on it, you will lower the threshold, I strongly advise not to drink at all! I tried having one bloody mary and it felt like I had had 5 drinks and I couldn't even drive my car.
Hello, i was taking Wellbutrin Xl 300mg for 2 yrs. the last 6 months i was taking a generic brand. However, i became very depressed i the last 2 months. i was hospilized 3 weeks ago. They took me off of Wellbutrin and now i take Celexa and Remeron. However, i dont like their side effects. So today i switched back to Wellbutrin. Can i do this? i took it around 9:20am this morning, then 20 min later i began to feel lightheaded and my heart was racing. Is this normal?
Hi. I take 60mg cymbalta. 1mg Ativan. And 150mg xl wellbutrin. I'm kinda not happy cymbalta is very impossible to get off of. But. It's the only drug that worked and no side affects. I've been on everything over 20 yrs. suddenly developing panic attacks ,anxiety and depression. Maybe Iam wrong but would like off the cymbalta but how ? Plus I do suffer scalp issues and hair loss and it drives me nuts.
They don't always, but they often do. My advice is to get a different psychiatrist before making any new moves. GPs just don't get the same amount of study of this stuff as psychiatrists do, and although some do fine with them, when you have a complicated case like yours I'd see the specialist, not the generalist. I would also be very suspicious of a doctor who just didn't like a particular drug. Why? Seroquel doesn't do what clonazepam does, at all.

My suggestion is take a list of the medications that you have taken in the past to your new psychiatrist. They can then tell what classes of medications these medications fit into. I am only twenty four but I have already tried a whole slew of medications and like you some made me sick, some more suicidal etc. Medications can vary greatly even amongst the same drug classification.
Can you please tell me if Wellbutrin XL will help with anxiety issues. Or can the medication Cymbalta be of better use?
I was on Prozac many years ago and I tried those other drugs over the past year when it reared its ugly head again but I choose Wellbutrin. I was initially on 150 XL like you but I needed a boost when my OCD kicked into overdrive so I went to 300 XL. It did make me more jittery at first but after about 4-6 weeks, it went away and I feel GREAT! I needed a little klonopin during the day in the beginning to combat the jitteryness but once I hit the sweet spot, I was on my way.
Started wellbutrin XL 150mg at the beginning of december, it is now basically january and no period. My last period was on Nov. 17th, and on December 18th this month i had one tiny blood spot, and that was it. Pregnancy is highly doubtful, and 3 pregnancy tests say negative. I've had regular periods all my life. This drug needs to be evaluated again to list this side effect of missed periods/irregular periods.
