1190024 tn?1264692022 Hi - I have a pretty extensive background, but will try to make this as short & easy to comprehend as possible. I'm a 33 year old single mom who has struggled with "mental issues" for many years. At the age of 15 I was placed on Prozac for depression. Over the next 15 years I tried Zoloft, Paxil, Lexapro, and several others.
Avatar n tn and on the other comment, i am a nasty ***** right now...thats a reason for going on the wellbutrin. For months I was just up and down and up and down with emotions..lately i havent wanted to look at anyone, i havent wanted anyone to look at me (in fear that i might bite someones head off)i havent wanted to go out in public, afraid that everyone that sees me will think...what a horrible, ugly, fat person....although i know none of this is true, i cant help but to think it..
Avatar n tn The doctor switched me to Wellbutrin and I felt 100% better. So I after a year a stopped taking it, about a month after I began to feel depressed again and so I began to take the Wellbutrin again. It worked for awhile, I have been back on it for about three months, and the last month I have been feeling terrible again.
370801 tn?1264408618 I take creatine, caffeine, and smaller amounts of other supplements on top of 400 mg/day of wellbutrin and no problems. Sports supplements and wellbutrin (a psychoactive drug) work on completely different tissues in the body and thus do not work in unison with each other. Wellbutrin gives you mental energy, supplements actually stimulate a more physiological response.
370801 tn?1264408618 My main concern is that I hear that Tyrosine can effect dopamine etc. And I am wondering if there are any known complications between a substance like this and wellbutrin etc. I wouldn't want to get serotonin overload syndrome or anything Iike that - tho I do feel super happy and buzzed after working out, and no I don't crash from it either.. mood wise. Also, not sure if Taurine effects neurotransmitters etc. I guess I may have to do some in-depth research.
Avatar f tn I've done a few personal experiments with the 300 mg of generic Wellbutrin XL I've been taking. I've noticed 3 things while on this medication: If I ingest a packet of aspertame (Sweet 'N' Low), I am extremely angry with others. If I ingest a spoonful of sugar, I have suicidal thoughts. If I ingest a packet of Splenda, nothing happens -- my mood is the same. I have heard of people getting angry or suicidal while on this medication, but I've never heard of an explanation why.
Avatar f tn I have been on Xanax 2mg twice a day that controls panic attacks. Recently I was put on Wellbutrin XL discovered that Xanax and Wellbtrin both help with Dopamine. Does Xanax make me sleepy--I don't think so, Melatonin 1mg at night helps me sleep well. Melatonin seems to have hangover affect. I have to take Xanax around five in the afternoon to prevent major panic attacks. Do not get sleepy in the afternoon Xanax of 2mg in morning and 2 mg in the early evening.
Avatar n tn I was on that for two months with only modest improvement. I since have seen a new psychiatrist who put me on Wellbutrin Xl 150 for one week and felt ok, then increased to 300mg. He also increased the Buspar to 60mg a day at the same time of adding the Wellbutrin. The first couple of days I felt better but then I went down hill fast at the 300mg level and he reduced it to 150mg. I have this gut feeling that the Buspar and Wellbutrin are fighting each other, multiple reasons to believe this.
Avatar n tn Hello, Wellbutrin XL is known to cause such crawling sensations on the skin or parasthesia as its side effect. Moreover it is also known to cause chest pain, palpitations and other cardiac side effects. In my opinion, you should talk to your doctor about changing Wellbutrin XL to some other antidepressant or decrease the dose of wellbutrin.
Avatar n tn I now have horrible numbness, tingling and pain in my hands and feet. To the point that it keeps me home more and more and unable to do things I need to do. My endocrinologist doesn't think it's related to my diabetes since I have no other diabetes related complications. I have an appt with a pain group in March to help ease my chronic pain.
Avatar n tn I had a heart double bypass in 2003, my feet are swelling and numb,I take a lot of meds. glucophage, actos, metoprolol, zetia, atacand, tricor, lipitor toprol-xl,sinemet,zoloft,wellbutrin. I'am worried about p.a.d. I had a stress test a little over a year ago, Doc said everything looked good. Could sitting make my feet swell? Iam the type that hears about something, right away I think I have it.
Avatar f tn The best thing to do is to talk to your doctor as soon as you can and tell him/her that you have stopped taking it. From my own personal experience, I take Wellbutrin 300 mg XL for my OCD. It is not commonly prescribed for OCD but I take it because it has less side effects. I have not gained weight while on it and it does not have any effect on the sex drive. It works for me, I don't know if it will work for everybody.
Avatar n tn I switched to Effexor XR about a year ago because Zoloft was not doing enough for my depression. I was and still am taking Wellbutrin XL to combat the sexual side effects. Shortly after I started Effexor my doctor also put me on Seroquel. So I have been on these 3 drugs for the past year. Last month my doctor suggested I up my dosage of Effexor from 150mg to 225 mg.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Wellbutrin 150mg XL once a day for over 2 weeks and while I'm fine in the morning, the depression sinks in later in the afternoon and all I want to do is eat cake, ice cream, sugary junk foods, and sleep. Why isn't the Wellbutrin keeping me "up" all day? Is craving sugary foods suggestive of serotonine deficiency? After I eat them I immediately get a jolt of energy and keep going but the problem is that I always overeat and already gained 10lb.
Avatar n tn To sandratarium, keeponkeepingon, and kittykat3658 I was on Effexor (25mg/day) for 18 months, then successfully weaned myself off of it without pain, and after an 8-month slide back into depression while trying every natural remedy I had researched (none of which worked, contrary to all the glowing studies I had read about), I went back on it and have been using it without incident for the past 16 months.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have been on Effexor XR for 3 years and I have gained about 40-50pounds, most when my dose was increased to 225, now I am on 75mg b/c I'm getting ready to wean off the medicine in a couple of weeks, and I haven't lost anything yet. My eating habits have not changed and I exercise. I have always been underweight and I could eat whatever I wanted...I'm only 26 years old...I know my metabolism has changed some, but not enough to pack on 40 pounds.
Avatar f tn Hair loss, acne, weight fluctuations(3-5 lbs), frequent urination, depression, hypothyroidism, bone cracking/popping, aches, pains, brain fog, increasing fatigue and a small bump under my chin that comes and goes. I'm on Wellbutrin XL, Synthroid, and Labetelol. Any doctors I've seen seemed relatively unconcerned and took the "wait and see" approach. I'm 30 years old and I feel 80. I don't want to wait and see. I want to find the problem and fix it. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn We immediately stopped that one and proceeded to try wellbutrin xl for 3 weeks but he heavily focused on any depression I might have that appointment which concerned me because it was no longer focused on pain management. I tolerated wellbutrin xl well for the 3 weeks I was on it but it pushed my tremors from inconsistent mild to inconsistent moderate and impeded driving and everyday functionality.
1416790 tn?1282103199 And skin infections off and on. And aometimes swelling around joints of ankles when standing long, and around knuckles of hands. Any ideas anyone? I will try to get more information, but I just dont seem to be getting help. Thanks for any input you may have.
Avatar n tn All I know is that I need to find out what causes this because it is starting to freak me out. I have always been in good health and Cancer and Diabetes are the only diseases in my family history. And that doesn't happen until they are 55 and older. If anybody has any information that could help, please resond. And If I find anything out I will too resond.
Avatar n tn , and so if they haven't - tell the f*****g doctors to check your thyroid, too, and to make sure you don't have diabetes and that your kidneys are working OK. If they do all of that and still tell you everything is fine and that you're just a depressed ex drug addict, consider that they might be right, and then do something about it, such as - force yourself to get up and get out. Hop in a hot shower and shake it off. Turn your computer off and get out of the house.
Avatar n tn Finally after a panic attack, enough was enough...i went to the drs and she put me on wellbutrin xl. I cant even begin to tell you how its helped me. Just an idea, but maybe he has some depression going on..and like me doesnt want to admit it...i never went for counseling and have been back to my normal self ever since. I agree with everyone else...
Avatar f tn I went to see my family Doc the other day, he put me back on Wellbutrin XL .. and I beleive that particular depressant in the past has helped me lose weight and feel better by lowering my anxiety level .
Avatar n tn 2007, that bit before this particular diet plan). I went from a size 14 or 16 and XL to a 6 or 4 and small medium. I CAN do it. I have another 14 pounds to my goal! (I want to have a buffer zone for the holidays and vacations.) It just took a lot of willpower and self-determination to not quit. I thought it would be so hard and take so long regardless of the hype that you lose really fast on Phentermine. That depends on what diet you go on. My best friend went on the Medifast diet.
17338875 tn?1455780302 This list may help explain question one and it'll pretty much explain question two. I must add that I have diabetes type 1. I'll list all my medications. Yes, both my doctor and psychologist know what I'm on, I've been on my meds from the doc longer. I feel a lot of side effects from the medications I'm on too. Sometimes the make me hallucinate like crazy and many other things. From Psychologist (Daily): Effexor Xr - 225mg replaced Zoloft 200mg a few weeks ago.
Avatar f tn n) ; Serlife (100mg n) ; Molipaxin (50mg n) ; Wellbutrin XL 300 (m) and Verahexal SR 240. I have sinus tachycardia and MRI shows Microvascular Ischemia. Working with my Cardiologist. I am a recovering anorexic whereby I have maintained a healthy weight of 47kgs over the last six months (for the first time in my life), being over a 20 year battle. My height is 1.52 m ; age 36. I do realise the damage done to my heart is due to the anorexia nervosa.
414131 tn?1202534491 I was going to school at the time and the first indication was, I went from getting A’s and B’s to getting C’s and D’s. Very disconcerting for a 3.56 gpa career. I had not changed how I study. I thought I had burn out. By January 2007 I was also rather confused at times. People would speak and I would hear bla, bla, bla, bla. I would talk and forget what I was saying, even what the subject was.
Avatar n tn I was taken off of that too. I WAS taking 900mg lithium, 300mg wellbutrin xl, 10mg lexapro and .5mg ativan daily. I was forgetting everything. I never really got settled into any perticular cocktail that worked for a long period of time. I was on this roller coaster ride since 1997. Check out Omega-3. good luck.
Avatar n tn I too have had many panic attack related situations, and have feared that there is more wrong with me than I thought. Sometimes it was so hard to decide what was actually "real" or what was in my head. I had my worst episode in college when I was 21, I literally thought I would never be able to function like that. After getting on Celexa (40mg - this will differ depending on your severity) and it changed my life.
