how does wellbutrin xl work

I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day... I dont understand how she said Wellbutrin XL 150mg once per day will not work for depression, when I see on other medical sites it is prescribed. Was her medical medication reference book that she looked at wasn't updated or something? I want to go back and talk to her, and show her some sort of valid proof that it is indeed prescribed for depression.

m on 225 reg. Wellbutrin. The XL, extended release tablets stayed in my system long into the evening strong and kept me from being able to sleep well. I take it first thing in the morning as soon as I wake up.

Hello, i was taking Wellbutrin Xl 300mg for 2 yrs. the last 6 months i was taking a generic brand. However, i became very depressed i the last 2 months. i was hospilized 3 weeks ago. They took me off of Wellbutrin and now i take Celexa and Remeron. However, i dont like their side effects. So today i switched back to Wellbutrin. Can i do this? i took it around 9:20am this morning, then 20 min later i began to feel lightheaded and my heart was racing. Is this normal?

I've been on Wellbutrin XL 150 mg for about 6 months...I recently started taking once a day SR...to me the SR is less effective...I don't fell anything...it doesnt really feel like it curves my depression. I only tried it to compare the difference...I prefer the 2x a day I feel much better and actually feel it working...thats just my personal experience...however when I talked to my M.D. the switch wasn't harmful I guess its the chemical reaction to ur brain/body...good luck!

My doctor started me on Wellbutrin XL 150mg and I felt great the first couple of days, however I now get very depressed in the afternoons, dwelling on the past - how I could have done things better and how messed up my life is now, the doc wants to increase the dose to 300mg but these pills are expensive!! I was on Prozac many years ago and I tried those other drugs over the past year when it reared its ugly head again but I choose Wellbutrin. I was initially on 150 XL like you but I needed a boost when my OCD kicked into overdrive so I went to 300 XL. It did make me more jittery at first but after about 4-6 weeks, it went away and I feel GREAT! I needed a little klonopin during the day in the beginning to combat the jitteryness but once I hit the sweet spot, I was on my way.

Does anyone know how lexapro is? I will be paying almost as much as the wellbutrin xl, which i am willing to do to feel better. Do I have to slowly get off of the celexa and make the switch to wellbutrin or can i just switch the next day?

I started off on 150 mg generic Wellbutrin XL which was not doing much...so I was upped to 300 mg. The sweating is unbelievable! I wake up in the morning drenched. My doc and pharmacist both say it is a side effect of the Wellbutrin and that it should go away. It's been 3 weeks now and I am still sweating a lot! I take mine at night because I don't want it to affect my sleep. Although I see a lot of people take it morning...so I don't if I should be taking it at night .

t take long for my doc to confirm my ADD-PI and he prescribed Aderral 10 mg to take once a day along with Wellbutrin XL 150. He said I might need a higher dose or switch to the XR later. Has anyone tried both at the same time? I got the generic version of Aderral and surprised how cheap it was. Should this be taken every day or only when I have lots to do and need to concentrate? I have been taking Wellbutrin XL 300 mg for 3 weeks at night. Insomina showed up about 2 weeks ago even though I take Klonopin to sleep. I am going to skip tonights dose and take it in the morning instead. I still am very edgy after 3 weeks of taking the medication. Do most people take in the am? My bottle of 150 xl said to take it at bed time which was why I took the 300 at bedtime. Does the edgyness go away? Anyway, I think I'm going to ask to switch to Prozac instead.

I am a 37 year old male and have been taking 300 mg/day Wellbutrin XL and 10 mg/day Lexapro since experiencing a severe depression episode in September 2005. I have since been going to counseling weekly and maintaing maintenance of these two medications and feel that I have made tremendous improvements. About 3 days ago my doctor added wellbutrin 150 mg XL for four days then 300 mg XL after that to help with my depression following the loss of my dad. My question is I only have about 6 days more of the xanax will i be addicted after taking them for that short of a time? I never take them during the day.
