Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting symptoms cats

vomiting

436973 tn?1217947089 Hi, my cat does this sometimes a couple of times a week and goes on a couple of weeks break and also acts perfectly fine-playing, eating, etc. I'm a little worried, too. But, she seems fine! What I plan to do is to give her a hairball remedy twice a week and see how that goes. I'd try that with your kitty, too. It's cheap and worth a try with our cats especially since there's no other symptoms.
Avatar m tn he needs to go back to the Vet asap!!! they need to find out what is wrong PLUS put him on IV's....all that vomiting he will be dehydrated and this is VERY serious..your kitty will not make it if not taken care of very quickly, this is an emergency!!!!!
592969 tn?1248325405 t really safe to give cats. However, though, and this is what your cat may be going through, some cats will vomit when fed ANY wet foods. Well, you know your cat better than us. I hope he gets better, and goes back to his normal self. Personally, I will never recommend any Purina product but it's just because my cat was harmed by it. I wouldn't recommend something that almost gave my cat cancer.
Avatar m tn first of all...cats aren't evil...he needs to see a Vet, he is obviously having some stomach issues, perhaps the food does not agree with him, and the inappropriate elimination is likely due to crystals in his bladder that are very painful and he is trying to tell you he hurts!!!! these are caused by feeding dry food and are most common in male cats especially older ones.
Avatar f tn s vomited several times, so we cut back on the Atopica and only used Triamciniolene. The vomiting returned, so she is only taking Atopica, after which she agaom vomited. I'm told San Ren Tang may cause the remission of Pemphegus. Please help...I adore this cat.
Avatar n tn What should I be looking for regarding symptoms of this disease? He is one of two cats abandened after a fire. The other is a american short hair female. The female was not diagnosed with the disease at two years of age and was vaccinated.
Avatar f tn Cats can most definitely get sick from spoiled food-diarrhea, vomiting, the works. Depending on how serious the vomiting and diarrhea is, it may require immediate medical attention. I wouldn't let vomiting and diarrhea go on for more than a day w/out seeing a vet because dehydration is very very dangerous and requires IV fluids.
6726276 tn?1421126668 t worry too much about the vomiting, unless your cat is also showing other symptoms-lethargic, no appetite, not playing, or fever. Just keep your eye on her. Cats have very sensitive stomachs-they are barfers. Lol. Does your cat excessively wash herself? If so, then it could still be a hairball issue. I would giver her some hairball remedy once a day for a few days, just to be on the safe side. Keep us posted!
Avatar n tn Don't panic. Cats do that and there's a good chance that she just has an upset tummy, having ate a rubber band or something. Look for other symptoms, though. Do her eyes seem unusually dilated? Does she seem disoriented or distressed in any other way than what you have described (like swaying, crying, moving around aimlessly, tilting her head in a weird way, anything like that)? Is she drooling or foaming around her lips?
1296191 tn?1280699873 My eight year old cat is very skinny, but he's in great health. His coat is soft, sleek, and shiny, he eats and drinks whenever he needs to, and he has a ton of energy, especially when outside. There is only one problem with his health: he throws up more often than most cats. I'm not too worried about this, because he is in very good health otherwise, but cleaning up his vomit is quite tedious.
Avatar f tn One of his kidney values was very mildly elevated so I wanted to do the ultrasound and he has had vomiting on and off… it seemed to be hairball related, I treated that and it seems to help and sometimes food related. I'm changing their diet to a raw dehydrated diet slowly also to try to help. He has always been very sensitive and has vomited here and there as have a lot of my cats. He is very sensitive to meds and often vomits from them. He is fiv pos and has been very healthy overall.
Avatar f tn I noticed she still vomits after each intake. How can I stop her vomiting. She still has another week to go before she finishes her medication.
747613 tn?1233526730 and her throw up contained hard cat food that she seemed to not have chewed properly and it also contained some kitty grass that we had bought for her and the other cats a few days ago. She was her playful self after wards. Again she threw up at about 12:00 a.m. but it was like a clear mucous and she threw that up in about 3 different spots of the bedroom and she threw up some of the clear mucous again at about 12:30a.m. after all that she seems sad and she'll walk around but she wont play.
Avatar f tn So, for the last handful of years (I'm 24), I've had a recurring problem (usually only a couple of times a year) where I get these awful, rotten egg burps and every time I get them, I know that I'm going to be in terrible shape for at LEAST the rest of the day. Sometimes it lasts me up to two days. Vomiting, diarrhea, the whole nine yards. However, sometimes, I CANNOT throw up, although I know that I need to.

Avatar n tn Is he still not eating? Is he picking at his food or just not eating at ALL? It's important to call the vet as soon as you notice the kitty isn't eating, please use me as an example. My cat stopped eating but I figured she was eating when no one else was around since she has an aggressive food loving sister and I didn't notice something was wrong until I pet her and realized she was getting really boney.
Avatar f tn if the dose is too high it can cause vomiting...but already one of the symptoms of hyperT is vomiting, so it maybe a problem to control....sorry I can't be of more help, if I find more info I'll post it later. http://www.marvistavet.com/html/thyroid_treatment__oral_medica.
Avatar m tn Help! I am at my wits end with one of my cats. He is a 3 year old male inside cat. We adopted him from a shelter when he was 8 weeks old. First, the vomiting issue. Since he was small, he has vomited on a regular basis. He will vomit once a day, for three or four days and then stop for a week or two and then start the cycle all over again. His vomiting can be at any time. He could be sleeping and jump up and vomit or it could be while he is playing.
Avatar f tn I know that if the vomiting started it could be a sign of her cancer returning, but she has no other symptoms at all. She's actually gained some weight and has a lot of energy. Should I be concerned and take her to a vet immediately? Or should I watch her for a little while longer before making an appointment? I hesitate to put her thru chemo again since it turned her skin almost black and she was so nauseous - barely ate anything. Could there be any other cause for the vomiting?
11451172 tn?1418336366 t a bad food, but fish is not a good idea....yeah I know how cats love it! Way too much Mercury for cats. Once u get them on fish it is VERY hard to get them off, I know b/c I had an addict too.
Avatar f tn His appetite is still good, even though he has does some vomiting and had diarrhea the last few days. I am feed the adult cats and kittens together lately so he has had more canned food available than he is use to, so that could be part of the problem.
Avatar n tn I have 3 cats, 2 females (3 and 4yrs) and one male (8yrs). I have a couple of questions about my male cat. I've had him for 8 years and for many years he has been throwing up after eating. He has been to the vet for check ups and is healthy, I think he eats too quickly or too much because when he has thrown up the cat biscuits are still whole, like he doesn't chew. He will then go straight back to the food bowl and eat more, which I will take off him at that point.
Avatar f tn Oh, dog food will most definitely cause vomiting. For some reason, cats seem to love it. It's not good for them. Try to keep an eye on him when the dog's food is out. We always put the dog's food out for no more than 10 min. By that time, the food is gone and the cats have no chance of getting it.
Avatar f tn But since then, when I find myself getting incredibly stressed or really upset I end up vomiting. I get incredibly hot, light-headed, and then I end up vomiting. Afterwards I just curl up in a ball and lay down because I still feel sick. Is this just another horrible side effect of my anxiety? I'm really not interested in taking even more medication than I already am on.
17385687 tn?1458196833 I would think as long as she took in very little of the actual pill she should be okay....as long as she doesn't exhibit any of the side effect symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, depressed appetite or hyperactivity to name a few of the most common. If ever in doubt call your Vet or take the kitten in. but likely as soon as kitty got a taste of this she spit it out without absorbing enough to cause harm...
Avatar f tn I have a 6 year old male - slightly over weight cat who has been healthy until now. Last Thursday he started vomiting yellow frothy bile... Waited til Monday and took him to the vet. Vet did exploratory surgery (yesterday) - after all blood work looked good and the X-ray looked good but it was hard to tell. My cat isn't drinking or eating of his own.
